Excellent, thanks!
I am a guitarist, and this is one of my favorite music channels on UA-cam. Great stuff brother!
I am 🎸 too, and studying piano with Shan at JazzSkills and i am so so happy…incredible method
I'm a guitar player too and mind too.
I can’t hear that line without hearing Donna Lee!
good lesson. i am also a guitarist
I'm absolutely loving these videos, Shan. Many thanks for sharing them. The diminished scale sounds is so elegant, and i'm now incorporating it into all my solos. My teacher also recommends the Lydian Flat 7 scale over a dominant scale, particularly where that scale occurs outside of a II V. Do have lessons or advice on that?
its good to add that your C7 (from Fhm) is an Eb7 where the root is raised to be the 3rd of C. (on a bar of this type of C7 Barry would tell soloists that the scale outline would be to play a Eb7 down from the seventh to land on the 3rd of C). this way we see its still connected to the Families. (Eb7 is V of Ab, C7 the V of F-, F- is Ab's relative minor, Eb7 and C7 come from the same diminished)
Thanks for analyzing CPs improve for us.
The more I learn about music, the more I realize how much The Greats knew.
I always learn something from you. I am so grateful to have found your channel.
Was doing phrases in my lesson today (McCoy Tyner). This one is a gem.
Awesome! Keep up the good work.
This is so useful for any kind of style, as long as you want to learn "thinking in music".
Thank you, Maestro. All the Best.⭐🌹⭐
Wishing you good jazz!
Awesome lesson Shan! Great, simple and extremely clear teaching! :)
Thank you very much and greetings! 🙂
All of me
that sounds like a lick from Donna Lee
Hey Shan thank you for all this precious lessons. Do you ever use minor 6th dim scale instead of the harmonic scale? Especially in minor II V's?
Thank you so much! Certainly in movement, yes. Sometimes, I'll play melodic minors in minor II Vs though.
@@JazzSkills Thanks
