La Nigérienne | The Nigerien - National Anthem of Niger (Ins.)

“La Nigérienne” (English: “The Nigerien”) is the national anthem of Niger. It was composed by Robert Jacquet and Nicolas Abel François Frionnet, and was lyricized by Maurice Albert Thiriet. It was adopted in 1961 following Niger’s independence.
In 21 November 2019, there were plans of changing the current national anthem, initiated by President Mahamadou Issoufou, due to the lines that expressed gratitude over former colonisers. The commission that is tasked of repairing the national anthem since 2018 is “charged with reflecting on the current anthem by providing corrections" and "if possible find a new anthem that responds to the current context of Niger".

Le 21 novembre 2019, il était prévu de changer l'hymne national actuel, initié par le président Mahamadou Issoufou, en raison des lignes exprimant sa gratitude envers les anciens colonisateurs. La commission chargée de réparer l'hymne national depuis 2018 est « chargée de réfléchir sur l'hymne actuel en apportant des corrections » et « si possible de trouver un nouvel hymne qui réponde au contexte actuel du Niger ».
