fully deserved imo, i like how he's very different to most loopers and even if he's trolling a lot he's really battle-ish, and battles his opponents individually and personally and not "only" by aggressive sound and heavy drops. He's a bit like the alexinho of loopstation for me😅

Second round first drop of banon shows that he is capable of winning gbb. His tracks are so difficult to execute even if you are not on stage. But being on stage makes everything sooooo much more difficult to execute. Hope he comes back stronger😊
Banon actually recently won a world loopstation contest, he's officially a world loopstation champ. Definitely has potential to win at GBB also he's one of Brez favourite loopers too, that's why banon replaced brez this GBB they're good friends

Matej was a breath of fresh air. Everyone else was doing hardcore EDM and displayed work on the machine more than on the voice, which I'm okay with, but matej was definitely a lot more of a performer throughout this. Entertaining and battled more Deserved for sure ♥️
all respect to the judges but I respectfully disagree. Matej was different sure but this is a music competition and 808banon by far brought the better music, his sound design was out of this world and Matej was funny for sure but thats not gonna win him the battle for me

I remember watching this on the livestream, hearing 808 banons second round had me HOOKED. I didn’t know of him until this comp. Man, I REALLY wish he was able to execute the rest of it. That track IS SO GOOD🔥. This edited version made it sounds 100x better than the live version and fade away just gives me chills. Congrats to Matej, I really enjoyed his hip hop music 😁

To me, this battle is like the same battle between Robin and Dice even the red side and the blue side, one of them can do something very good and different and one of them knows how to play
I personally thought 808Banon still took the win, despite the major slip ups. Matej is a great performer but he was just trolling all along. It was close, but 808Banon should have won for me. But I think the execution point should be lower and the technical and new stuff point should be higher. For this battle, 808Banon really messed up the 1st round, but he tried something new, while Matej rounds sounded so weird. If the judging system priortize safe over innovation, then I think GBB can not gain more popularity. GBB got famous thanks to Penkyx, Tioneb, Saro innovation and unexpected rounds, that what I love about GBB, and now we just let all loopers be less innovative and less experiment with new stuff because chances of being punished?
Maybe it is due to personal preference, but I would say that Matej rounds had more the surprise factor. In my eyes, his rounds were more entertaining and surprising than Banon's sets ( even though Banon was very good as well).

They can sequence pitch beforehand, creating a series of notes. But the sounds have to be input live to create those notes, so if they messed up a lip roll or something it'll be noticeable.
