I may not be religious, but I have a lot of respect for this man and his family. More often than not people buy their meat from industrial factories who treat their animals poorly and they live a life in true hell. I limit my meat intake because of this, but if I lived in an area where we had the accessibility to meat that this family does, I'd for sure learn how to butcher and catch my own food. I think forever I will dislike and have no respect for trophy hunters, but when you're hunting for food, and not catching excess, I completely understand.

it's why people saying Heritage Breed Turkeys are better than commercial birds. Heritage is as close to wild as you can get. Commercial white turkeys are so big they can't fly, have overly huge breast meat, and can't breed without human aid. i can't hunt for myself yet. Organic meat is usually better to buy. Usually

I think to eat meat respectfully, you should have that blood on your hands after ethically and respectfully harvesting a free ranging animal. Without that experience, a deer harvested in the woods is no different than a steak wrapped in plastic purchased at the supermarket. Vegan, hunter or somewhere in between, we need to all recognize where our food comes from and have a great respect for the process of what goes on our dinner plates.

Give it go! Get a your huntin license, put in for a tag or get an over the counter non permit tag, the animal available for the latter option varies by state, take a buddy and go for a week or two. It’s a lot of work. Often times these videos rarely give you the full picture and four days is the average required days to be successful

Robert, have you ever tried marinating your venison steak(cut or cubed) in a mixture of zesty Italian salad dressing and a packet of onion soup mix? Pour the salad dressing in a zip lock and add the onion soup in, shake well, add your venison and let it sit in the fridge for several hours.(even overnight). You can flour and fry or cook on the grill. Many times we make a gravy and put the meat back in that gravy and let it simmer. Great taste!!! Rusty Davis

    Ingredients
2 lb dear meat (chevon), cubed
    1 tablespoon garlic, minced
    1 piece medium-sized onion, minced
3 pieces medium sized tomatoes, diced
½ teaspoon crushed chili or fresh Thai chili (optional)
    1 cup tomato sauce
    ¾ cup bell pepper, sliced
    6 tablespoon liver spread
¾ cup Spanish green olives (optional)
    ½ cup vinegar
    1 piece large carrot, cubed
    1 piece medium-sized potato, cubed
    3 tablespoons cooking oil
    2 cups water
    Salt and pepper to taste
    Instructions
Combine the vinegar, salt, and ground black pepper in a large bowl then marinate the dear meat for at least an hour (This should neutralize the strong gamey smell ) then separate the meat from the marinade.
Pour the cooking oil in a cooking pot or casserole and apply heat.
Sauté the garlic, onion, and tomatoes
Add the marinated dear meat then cook until the color of the outer part turns light brown
Put-in the tomato sauce and crushed chili then allow to cook for 2 minutes
Add the water and allow to boil. Simmer for at least 45 minutes or until the meat is tender.
Add the liver spread and cook for 5 minutes (You may add water if the sauce seems to dry up)
Put-in the potatoes and carrots then simmer for 8 minutes.
Add the olives and bell pepper then simmer for another 5 minutes.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
    Serve hot. Share and enjoy!

He's probably hunting during muzzleloading season when you can't use any other type of rifle.

When I was growing up we used to butcher a huge tame hog every winter. We would wait until we got a cold dry norther, then my dad would butcher. We would scrape the hog. Daddy would make bacon and sausage. We would cut up some pieces and mom would fry them by dreadging them in flour and frying them in a little oil. Get a piece of bread and that’s all you needed. There are exceptions with this rule of coarse, but typically it's true. Here in WV we have average sized deer, perhaps a tad bigger than the one in the video on average.

Thank you for the video. I love seeing someone who obviously respects nature, his family, and of course, the good Lord. Keep up the great videos.
