    Air pockets in the bottom of ships make them buoyant

    I still dont get it, a block of 3000 tonnes will sink but a ship weighing 3000 tonnes will float, i mean a slab of concrete cannot float so how is the bouyancy principle not applicable

    Standard international units used would be better
