When Lane dyed her hair purple as a rebellious statement and dyes it back almost immediately afterwards because her mother would kill her right away. Loved it.
What about when Jess confronts Rory about dropping out of Yale? I mean you could clearly see that he's got a great character development and it was also thanks to him that Rory returned to Yale.
"Jess brought out the worst in Rory" they say, completely forgetting that it was Logan who turned her into a completely different person later on, and how Jess actually brought out the best in Rory at the end.
***** No, I'd say we didn't forget that, as it doesn't exactly matter for the point we're making here. Season 3 and 4 Jess fucks up a lot, and this incident is definitely at the top of the list. That's actually kind of the point of the narrative there; when they meet again in season 6, Jess has changed a lot for the better, Rory so much for the worse she is hardly recognizable anymore, and that contrast between the turns their lives have taken, and the fact that Jess of all people can call her out on this, is what ultimately sets Rory back on track.
Look, no one said Logan actively changed Rory, but he did bring out the worst in her. His original point about her needing to loosen up was pretty good, but within a very short amount of time, the amount of power he has over Rory is frankly unsettling. She has acted stupid in love, as we all have, but Logan is the only guy on the show who has her get drunk and be reduced to a tearful mess before they're even really dating. The girl who quit Spring Break in season 4 turns into quite the party girl for seasons 5-7. She hangs around with the same stuck up privileged kids she couldn't stand at Chilton who throw her a party for getting her first felony conviction. Hell, I think the best example is when Logan tries to steal from Emily and Richard and Rory just lets him until Lorelai steps in. And the scenes in season 6, first with her therapist ("how long until he doesn't love me again?") and then later with Jess, when she has the breakdown over loving Logan too much to leave him even after he sort of cheated on her (they were on a break, I know)... I'm not saying it's necessarily Logan's fault, but he is just not good for Rory, and she is at her worst emotionally while she's with him. That's no one's fault, and Logan isn't doing it on purpose, it just shows how immature Rory is with her feelings and relationships even this late into the series. ...Well. It's not like her parents set the best examples there. Also, I fully agree that it wouldn't have made sense for Rory to drop everything for Jess when he yelled at her in season 6, and also the making out a few episodes later... Well, sure, there was chemistry there, but eh, I didn't like it much, either. Rory's relationship with Jess was... tempestuous. They were pretty good together when they were good, but with all the shit Jess had going on and pulled on her, yeah. The good parts weren't around for long. But the thing is, the show acknowledged that theirs was not the best of relationships. Every character on the show was resigned to Rory just going through her bad boy phase, and hell, Rory herself seemed like that occasionally; fully aware of what she had, and as such, she was never quite as vulnerable with Jess. He certainly never managed to tear her down as completely as her ups and downs with Logan did. And yet after a few disapproving remarks and glances from Lorelai, that just.. Never get acknowledged with Logan. It's frustrating. then again, the show also pretends that Dean was the perfect first boyfriend, and didn't have pretty troubling anger issues and a mean tendency to guilt trip Rory about things. He wasn't the most ideal guy even before the whole cheating on his wife thing happened. Rory overall just has a shitty taste in guys. Jess is my favorite, mostly because he has his own narrative arc, while Dean and Logan only matter in Rory's stories, and because he eventually got over being an asshole, while the narrative just pretended Dean and Logan were pretty much perfect (when they weren't cheating). And I for one am extremely annoyed with all three of them returning for the revival. I mean. It's been 8 years. Rory is 30 now. I sure as hell don't want to relive my high school or college relationships when I am 30. So I'm all for her ending up single or with a completely different person. I'd even be okay with Logan, if the relationship isn't as toxic as it was for the majority of the show, and Rory keeps a good distance to his family and the kind of lifestyle expected of a Huntzberger wife. That's just not the kind of ending I'd want for her, but with Logan himself I'd be okay if it's well executed. I still prefer Jess for the character development he had and the additional narrative connections he brings to the table, but a relationship with Logan without all the stuff that made my skin crawl would be fine. Anyone but Dean, really.
Absolutely, Luke and Liz Luke and Miss Patty+Babette Luke and Kirk 🤣🤣 and then the endearing ones, Luke and Suki ❤ Luke and Lane ❤❤ Luke and April 😍 Luke with Rory ( rory not so much but Luke loved her to bits)
when jess yells at rory "why did you drop out of yale"! cmon that scene is an awakening for her! also when they have that montage of the gilmore family hashing it out at dinner :D
One of my favorite moments is when Richard is out of town and Lorelai realizes how lonely Emily must be when Richard travels, so she gets her a DVD player. That scene where Emily is badgering her about how on earth they're going to hook it up while Lorelai assures her she can figure it out, and then Emily says she has no use for it but gets all excited looking at the DVDs that Lorelai has brought her, it just makes me so happy. They didn't always get along, but Lorelai loved her mom, and this was a rare moment of just getting to watch her show it with no ulterior motive.
That should have been in there somewhere. Emily's takedown of Shira was amazing and Richard's confrontation with Mitchum was equally awesome, with Richard even about to punch Mitchum. Just shows how much they care about their granddaughter. And the look on Richard's face when he watches Rory give her speech at the episode is a testament to Edward Herrmann's acting.
I'm rewatching the show for the 10th time, and I just came across a moment that I didn't even remember loving so much. After Chris finds out Sherri's pregnant and leaves Lorelei and Rori again and neither of them are speaking to him, he shows up at Friday night dinner. Emily and Lorelei had been fighting ever since Chris left because of course she wanted them to end up together, and blames Lorelei - but when Chris comes in yelling and upsets Rori and Lorelei's explaining that he's hurting her by doing this Emily comes in and tells him to leave right now & I feel like anytime Emily or Richard stood up for Lorelei, like against Chris's parents or whenever, it makes such an impact.
I love when Luke and Loreli break into the church to break the bells and he reveals he was the one who broke them the first time.... also the fact the pastor walks in and was like carry on cracks me up too!!
One of my top Gilmore moments is on the episode where Richard Gilmore has a heart attack. That precious moment between father and daughter when Richard wakes up to find Lorelai in tears watching him sleep. He was shocked to see how much his daughter truly did care, and seeing her get emotional about her father was just a beautiful moment since we all know they haven't had the best relationship.
This list just made me realise how many great moments this show had but I do think Luke pushing Jess into the lake should of been on the list that was the funniest moment ever 😂
Some of my additions: 1. When Madeline, Louise and Paris are hiding outside of the headmaster's office in a bush reading Rory's file that they swiped. 2. The episode where Rory moves into her dorm for the first time and asks Lorelai to spend the night and they end up throwing a party. Inviting all of the girls on Rory's floor. 3. Rory and Lorelai's road trip to Harvard after Lorelai cancelled her wedding with Max. 4. When Lorelai told Rory to invite Madeline, Louise and Paris to the bangles concert in NYC in an attempt to make friends.
5. When Rory's grandparents threw her a party to meet a nice boy without telling her and she ended up having a great time with Logan and his friends. (Also got dumped by Dean in that episode)
Any true Gilmore Girl fan would know 1/2 if not 2/3rds of this is wrong. What should have gone down was: (1) Jess confronts Rory for dropping out of Yale (2) the Goodbye scene under the tent that Luke made for Rory, where you see the whole town showing their love (3) The scene in the pilot where Lorelai is running around in her Daisy Dukes, because she forgot to pick up her dry cleaning (4) Rory dying Lane's hair (5) Kissing Dean in the supermarket and then running with corn starch (6) Rory and Jess first kiss (ok you had that one) (7) Rory and Lorelai's grads (ok agree with you there) (8) dont know why, but, I thought of the scene where Luke gives Lorelai the necklace , so sweet of him (9) The scene in the hospital when Lorelai's dad has a heart attack and Luke keeps looking down, and Lorelai says to Luke "So I said you look good. We're not in 5th grade! 'You look good', big deal...stop staring at me", (10) When Rory tells Dean, "I love you, you idiot", after they had broken up the first time there are more, but how many other GG fans agree?
Number 1 is definitely on my list of "hallelujah!" moments because thank god someone talked sense into her about that one! And number 2 was so sweet! :)
hell no, that WAS one of the biggest moments! and it was imo perfect for the show because until then Rory's life was almost absurdly picture perfect + it was very believable.
@@charliez077 I agree with you. At some point no matter how much of a good girl Rory is, her brain wouldn't always win out. Sometimes you will follow your heart and this is the instance Rory did that. She loves Dean and she didn't think, she just followed what her heart was telling her. The people who are so into morals may not understand, but I can see why she did what she did💞.
@@cibazyx4138 I'm confused I'm only on season 4, Why is it so bad that she eventually sleeps with dean? realistically people have sex much younger in the U.S. Most girls lose their virginity by 16 and the fact that she stayed a virgin throughout high school is both uncommon and cool. I'm kind of annoyed about the fact how the show makes a big deal about it though and thought maybe it was just because thats how the writers wanted it but WHETHER or not she had sex at 16 or 20 doesn't make her a good or bad person. As long as your responsible and making good decisions such as using a condom. There is no shame in having sex. I don't think the morals being taught are cool here. I would understand is she had some type of religious obligation but she doesn't. A lot of people don't date someone for 2 years like she did with dean and not have sex. It was her choice but she wouldn't be any less great if she did chose to have sex.
@@therealtruthhurtsz Hi Maryam! Just saw your comment🌹 Yeah, having sex with someone you love, whether it be @ 16 or older, doesn't make you a good or bad person. That's exactly my point with my comment earlier. There's something called "the morality police" in society. They are people who are very judgmental. If you've seen Amy Sherman-Palladino talking about how Rory is going to lose her virginity, you'll understand why what happened (her first time making love) did happen when it did. She said the Warner bosses were asking her why Rory, who is already in college, isn't having sex yet? Amy, the creator, wanted her to have that experience with her first boyfriend, Dean. When that guy told Rory that his marriage is breaking up and, indeed, after all these years he still loves Rory deeply, the time was just right and it finally happened. Well, some people are so mad at Rory for doing it with Dean because although he said he isn't happy in his marriage (eventually, he did end that marriage), he was still married at the time. My point is sometimes, you can be the smartest person ever, but the heart wins anyway. Let's be empathetic/understanding. That's what is needed, instead of being mean or worse, thinking that they will never ever do a thing like that because they are such good people. Baloney!! I hope you're enjoying GG. It's really a very good show. I personally love Rory with Logan, her college boyfriend. They started out a little rocky, but later, they turned out perfect for each other. The last season of the regular series(S.7) wasn't written by the Palladinos, but it was still okay. Season 8 on Netflix was written by the Palladinos again. The Rogans (fans of Rory and Logan) are hoping there will be another season to finally see them together💕
I don't understand how people say they were perfect together.. What was so perfect about them? Was it when he never called when he said he would or when he lied to Rory and took his anger out on her? Or maybe it was when he left twice without saying goodbye or when he said I love you and took off instantly? Or maybe when he showed up out of nowhere and tried to get her to drop out of Yale and run away with him?
Yes those things were problematic but I can point to more and worse things about Logan and Dean. It's the fact that they never really lost eachother. They both always came back to eachother and they grew together. Although they were apart they still grew together. They got their shit together and it would only make sense. They both had their fair share of immature and angsty moments but it's about how they grew from them
If you can point to more and worse things about Dean and Logan, please do. I've provided examples to my point, I'd love to hear yours. And how exactly did they grow together and always come back to each other? Jess was only ever in Stars Hollow twice after leaving and it was because of his car and his mother's wedding. The first time, he ran away from Rory each time he saw her and bolted right after saying he loved her. The second time he didn't see her at all because she wasn't in town. He was never there for/bc of her. And with his car, he was in town involuntarily, stuck in a situation that was beyond his control and not his choice. And when he inevitably did run into her, he abandoned her the second his car was fixed and he could get away. He did show up at Yale twice but the first time it was to get Rory to run away with him bc he was in his feelings about her after his mother's wedding (Rory said no) and the second time was to yell at her for dropping out (even though he previously tried to pull her out). She saw him in NY once but, again, she never stayed for him or continued a relationship beyond that point. They have crossed paths a handful of times since they broke up, yes. But they never "came back to each other" in the way that I imagine you intend it - it sounds like you're saying there was some unyielding bond between them, some force pushing/pulling them together, some strong emotion on both sides that made each of them still want the other. But that's just not the case. Jess saw her no more than a few times over the years. Rory never came back to him. She never felt compelled to go back to him or get him back or reunite with him. She wasn't pining for him or being drawn to him or missing him. She rejected his new york plan, turned down the chance to be with him again. Jess finally grew up and got his shit together, good for him. But how did they grow together?
People say Dean became bad when Jess first showed up because the writers tried to cram Jess in, but Dean being a whiny, clingy, guilt tripping, insecure jerk with anger management issues has actually been consistent over the first two seasons. It's basically his entire character. He gets jealous at the drop of a head, is hard on Rory about ANYTHING that goes wrong even if it's outside of her control, and he yells. He yells so much. And a guy this tall yelling at a tiny girl is just always a bit unsettling. His worst episode which doesn't involve Jess, Tristan or Logan is probably the one where he gets mad at Rory for not being ready to say "I love you", which, excuse you, is a big fucking deal to say to a 16 year old after 3 months of dating, especially one with no good relationship role models in her life. But what annoyed me the most was the episode in which Rory attends a debutante ball because it's important to her grandmother. Everyone goes along and makes fun of it, except for Dean, who spends the entire episode moping about how unfair it is that he has to wear gloves and a bow tie and how Rory owes him for this for life. He also shows no appreciation or understanding for what Rory is most passionate about. He likes to watch her read more than he is willing to read himself to maybe have a conversation with her. That's something that's always been there, even with season 1-3 Dean, which most people agree was the "perfect" first boyfriend. Ew. No. He was a realistic first boyfriend, no question, but he was, overall, not an actually good person or match for Rory, ever. So when Jess came along and could connect with Rory on an intellectual level that made her fall head over heels for him and made Dean incredibly insecure, that was realistic, too. Well, and season 4 and 5 Dean was just a giant jerk and an "oh god why" moment summed up neatly in one character. The most telling thing about him is probably, ignoring the entire cheating on his wife thing, when Rory tries to talk to him about what she does at the paper and he looks bored. A few episodes later, he tells Luke their relationship didn't work out because Rory, just like Lorelai, is from a completely different income bracket, or social class as Logan charmingly put it in his introduction. He blames their socio-economic differences instead of the fact that they just don't have any common ground or interests or ANYTHING. Not even good chemistry. And then tells Luke he and Lorelai will never work out because of their own socio-economic differences. What a jerk. ...Hey, does that mean one can reasonably blame Dean for the break up after the wedding vow renewal? Because he and his talk about class got into Luke's head?
What about that time Luke finds out Jess works at walmart and starts mocking him, calling him the all-american boy eating apple pie, and jess leaves his apple pie and heads out lol
Really? Jess brought out the worst in Rory? He got her to go back to college and graduate. He had his douchey moments but he grew up. Logan brought out the WORST in Rory.
Honestly I think Dean ended up bringing out the worst. Cheating on Lindsay was way worse than taking a break from Yale or missing Lorelai's college graduation
I think the point was that everyone of these relationships were in some ways good and in some ways bad for her. Rory started out pretty much as a perfect kid but thru her relationships with men, we find out the imperfect side of Rory. Which is completely natural and realistic, I mean even the most “perfect” of people we know have flaws. I don’t think Rory would have been truly happy with any of them which is exactly why the “finale” of Gilmore Girls didn’t really feel finished and the Netflix revival of the show for one last season just ended up making the whole new “finale” even worse. It would’ve been perfect up until that one last moment, and those who have seen it know what I’m talking about.
@@ARagTagHooligan I don't understand why some people can't even give Rory a break. She's a good girl who didn't know yet how to control her impulses when it comes to love. I don't think she intended to miss her mom's graduation. There was a problem with the bus as I recall. I can't believe that everyone did everything right when they were young. In this instance she was in high school. In my book, she's as real as can be🌈.
great list!! I think the moment when Jess puts Rory in her place about dropping out of school and being in the DAR etc. should have at least got an honourable mention tho! I mean he was the only one who made her see that she was being an idiot, not even Lorelai could do that!
It only worked because he said it at a time when she was already on the path to going back to school. It wasn't because of him or what he said, it was because she was already ready to go back. If he would have said it at the beginning, like Lorelai did, it would have not had any effect, just like Lorelai did not have any effect.
What about all the incredible Logan moments?? Everytime he smiles at Rory and you can tell how much he loves her, those are my favourite moments which make my heart melt!
"You jump, I jump Jack" was worth SO much more than honorable mention. - When at random times I find myself in need of a Gilmore Girls fix.... that is my go to episode.
WHAT ABOUT THE BIG FRIDAY NIGHT DINNER FIGHT??? And this is more so one of my many favorite lines that just came to me for some reason: "It was then, sadly, that I discovered Luke could not read." :D
Not in Order - You jump, I jump jack -Rory's Chilton graduation -The town protester followed by Jess finding his car deviled egged -Luke keeping the horoscope - The dance marathon -Emily telling Mrs. Huntzberger off -Luke pushing Jess in the lake -Emily and Richard's wedding -Kirks movie -Logan saving Rory from her grandparents party of suitors Guess it's obvious I'm #TeamLogan
Yeahh, a fellow Rogan shipper, those are hard to come by.. I was absolutely appalled when I realised there were no Logan-moments on the list.. I mean, Jess was an ass and Dean was just.. Dean.. #TeamLogan
Emma van den Boomgaard . Jess pushed Rory back to Yale and to write a book in the revival could Logan do that he would probably just say yes father will buy you a place to work . He brought out the worst in Rory she stole a boat and he clearly didn’t love her because when they split for a while he slept with like 7 girls. He also cheats with Rory on his fiancée who knows if he would have done that to her if they married
I really loved the moment when Luke goes to Lorelai's house to make up and she's watching that old movie and she opens the door and he just kisses her 😊❤
Solid list. Rory's graduation speech and the shot of Lorelai's parents at her graduation from business school still made me misty-eyed. Even after 10+ years and countless viewings. Best show of all time.
I think my favorite moments on the show were always between Luke and Jesse. I loved watching their relationship grow and change and become more like what Loreli and Rory had (though they never quite made it to that degree of amazingness). Jesse was good for Luke but Luke was great for Jesse. He molded him into the character that I grew to absolutely love.
I loved the "There's the Rub" episode when Jess brings food to Rory's house while she is with Paris, and later there is a confrontation with Dean. And also the scene where Jess asks what she is doing with her life when she dropped out of Yale in "Let me hear your balalaikas ringing out". But your list is pretty good.
It is funny how my perception changed with age. When I watched it the first time I thought Loreleys Mother was a horrible person who was very different from her relatives. When I started rewatching it about 10 years later not only could I now see how similar Loreley and her are, but also found myself siding with her on some occasions.
Sarah Andrea Royce Basically I watched the series because of Emily Gilmore. She made great moments in the show and made me cry a lot because her relatilonship with Lorelai reminded me of my moms and myself... and because of Emily I started to understand my mother's litle ways of saying I love you.
Sarah Andrea Royce there were several times when I absolutely hated Emily and times when I loved her. I hated the fact that she was such a hypocrite when it came to Luke and Lorelai's relationship. She constantly told Lorelai that they liked each other then when they finally got together, she wanted to break them up and wanted Christopher to do it. Also I didn't like how Emily sided with Rory when she decided to leave Yale. I guess that was my Asian mentality coming out. Other than that, I was usually on Emily's side.
You had some of the biggest ones but you missed a few: 1. Lorelai to emily "why don't you care, you never cared" was amazing. 2. Luke taking the sledge hammer and kills the wall "we will hold hands and skip later" 3. sookie's "are you pregnant" to jackson on the lawn showed us what MM will be later. 4. Luke sits at the bench with the three little ballerina girls watching him on christopher and lorelai party. 5. Richard's proudest moment in the club with rory when he realizes how lucky he is. 6. Emily telling richard about the leg and that he would apologize to rory no matter what!!! cause she wasn't going to lose her too. 7. Lorelai's face when she realized rory was leaving yale and moving to the grandparents after lorelai and her parents made a plan. 8. Rory enters lorelai's room realizes she is crushed and crying and just hugs her in bed. 9. Emily realizes that trix's money to rory will mean they will never see lorelai again and tells Richard she will never come back. Gilmore girls was a "dramedy" but the best moments and best acting were on the sad moments. this show had the biggest heart much more than jokes.
So glad to see boys love this show too. My brother was always making fun of me for watching it but I think it was because the dialogue was just too quick for him. 😁
for me one of the best moments was when Dean broke up with Rory on her birthday party at Emily and Richard's and Logan and all the boys saw it. And then Finn offering to act out his version of passion of the christ
Ummm excuse me? When Luke breaks up with Lorelai and she's too devastated to get out of bed and tells Rory Luke was the first man she really loved? When Luke knocks on her door and just grabs her and kisses her? Lorelais proposal? Luke pushing Jess into the river? Like have you even watched the show?
I feel like one of the most unforgettable episodes is when Richard and Emily renew their wedding vows, I love the scene of their dance plus Logan and Rory get together(ish), Christopher makes a mess of things, there are issues with Luke and Lorelai, as well as Lorelai breaking off from her parents. It's jam packed with huge plot points and the climax of a lot of storylines.
I honestly love the scene where Luke foes to visit Jess in the later seasons in his crap apartment and goes "the guys next door didn't have any crack to sell to me so I came over here to see if you had any'
The thing about jess and rory that eventhough he did kind of brought the worse-ish out of rory it wasnt entirely jess's fault cause first the accident was exactly that an accident and the skipping school was only ONE day ugh and also missing lorelai's graduation wasnt jess's fault he didnt know about it and jees is perfect for rory because c'mon logan was the worst because he didnt even try to stop rory from quitting school and logan was so arrogant and prissy like no he's so not for rory dont even get me started with dean just because he was bitter and sad and he wanted to make rory jealous he gets married to the first girl that paid attention to him that wasnt rory pathetic he may have the rory's first but he was such a shitty boyfriend like i was so annoyed by him
As far as I know, Gilmore Girls needs at least a Top 20 to do some justice because they were a lot of cool/shocking moments regarding the other characters of the serie.
I watched this show as a young boy (ages 4 to 11 during the original run we watched) with my amazing Mom (who was a single parent) every Tuesday, every episode in syndication. AND NOW THAT I'M OLDER SOME OF THESE MOMENTS MAKE ME CRY. This show single-handedly taught young people the importance of pop culture. I dread the day a future girlfriend or spouse asks me to watch the series over again with them and I bawl my eyes out at certain moments that I didn't fully grasp as a kid. Then I'll say I'M NOT CRYING, YOU'RE CRYING because that's what our culture teaches about emotions. But for real Gilmore Girls is one of the best shows all time. It was so ahead of it's time and it can never be replicated or replaced. I'm just glad that I have an amazing Mom that decided to share it with me.
well, I totally miss Luke's "I want back those three hours"-scene when he's dealing with Nicole's lawyers - that was one of my top ten moments I would also have included the scene when Lorelai and Luke team up to "destroy" the annyoing bells and at last I would have included the scene when Luke, Jess and T.J. get ready for T.J.'s wedding to Liz
Gilmore Girls is my favorite TV show ever ever ever and I have been obsessed with it forever I cried like 3 times just watching this lol I cannot wait for the new ones to come out!!!!
A couple of extras: - Emily's takedown of Sheila Huntzberger; - Friday family fight night; - the look shared between Lorelai and her dad the first time he has a heart attack; - Luke pushing Jess into the lake (sorry but he deserved it!); - Luke building the tent to save the party and the "I just want to see you happy" to Lorelai; - Paris' questioning Logan at the door after the Bridesmaid saga (personally I break out into a fit no matter how many times I see that).
i don't have a top 10 every scene every episode was my favorite 💙 gilmore girls was my childhood i grew up with them and the show always made me feel better 😍 i will always love every single season of this amazing show! 😊 can't wait to experience them again! i can't wait to share this show with my kids one day 💛
I have been waiting for this video forever!!! Another great one not mention was the last episode with what Luke did for Rory and that kiss with Lorelai
The most iconic moment of Gilmore Girls is when Luke pushes Jess into the lake tbh.
Came down here to say that!
OMG YESSSSS!
Oh man, I dread to think how many times I've watched that scene.
It's an awesome scene!
TRUE
When Lane dyed her hair purple as a rebellious statement and dyes it back almost immediately afterwards because her mother would kill her right away. Loved it.
That was WONDERFUL, & I was so glad they got pictures!! 😁
Seriously iconic.
I loved when Richard pranked Logan into thinking that he expected Logan to marry Rory, the look on his face was priceless!
YAAAASSSSSS
Richard :(
Yes! That was awesome!
Tessa Holmes
Now I'm gonna cry, you'll know why if you've seen the revival trailer
What about when Jess confronts Rory about dropping out of Yale? I mean you could clearly see that he's got a great character development and it was also thanks to him that Rory returned to Yale.
"Jess brought out the worst in Rory" they say, completely forgetting that it was Logan who turned her into a completely different person later on, and how Jess actually brought out the best in Rory at the end.
Absolutely. one of the moments you truly empathise and sat hey, rory doesn't always have the right answer. She's still just a kid.
*****
No, I'd say we didn't forget that, as it doesn't exactly matter for the point we're making here.
***** I always found Marty to be annoying. From the naked to the liar, his character sucked.
Top funniest relationships:
- luke and jess
- luke and taylor
- luke and lorelei
- basically luke with anybody because honestly he is a legend
Luke and Jimmy's is amazing too.
"I'm gonna put your head through a wall, any wall, you can pick the wall, but it will be a wall."
LUKE AND JESS
Absolutely, Luke and Liz
Luke and Miss Patty+Babette
Luke and Kirk 🤣🤣
and then the endearing ones,
Luke and Suki ❤
Luke and Lane ❤❤
Luke and April 😍
Luke with Rory ( rory not so much but Luke loved her to bits)
@milasauza omg yes he was nice he was goanna let him pick 😅
What about when JESS came to work dressed as Luke? Ooh or when Luke pushed JESS into a lakeXD
Luke pushing Jess into the lake is at least in my top 5 scenes
I thought this was the uniform:')
I love the scene when Rory was late for her Shakespeare test and she goes on a rant
"And for the last time the name is RORY!!" 😂
“HUH WHATS QUIPPY WHY SO SILENT”
'you hit a deer?'
'NO!! I get hit BY A deer! !! '
Luke pushing Jess into the river though.
haha omg best moment
lol that was one of the most iconic moments in the series. It should've made the list!
That definitely should have made the list
My favorite moment 😂😂😂
bumcrackmosh182 that was hilarious!!!!!
when jess yells at rory "why did you drop out of yale"! cmon that scene is an awakening for her! also when they have that montage of the gilmore family hashing it out at dinner :D
Oh man, Friday Night's Alright for Fighting is the absolute BEST!! So well done!
"I demand to go first. Do I make myself clear?"
"Yes, Emily, you may go first."
This scene broke me down so hard the first time I watched it. It was so emotionally heavy and just so heartbreaking 😞
But he went first 😭💔
+The Dreamland Paradoz Me too. =(
It's gonna be sad watching the new episodes without him. 😔
+Jasmine L I'm crying with every video about the new GG. =( Richard was my favorite.
mate, rory and dean sleeping together was literally the worst moment in the series apart from lor&chris getting married.
Yessss.
I loved lorerali and Chris ! And I love dean and Rory!
oh god i want to forget about that wedding so bad
Totally, it was so unreal, obviously set up for deans exit from the show. That rat!
Disagree. While it was upsetting, I think Lorelai sleeping with Christopher after giving Luke the ultimatum was the worst moment.
Then she climbs the stairs to go hook it up in Emily's bedroom and she's singing "Easter Parade".
When both senior Gilmores stood up for Rory at the DAR fundraiser, after finding out what Mitchum and Shira said about Rory.
cocktail waitress!
"that's my mother's version of the c word"
That should have at least been an honorable mention?
+Tara Martinez I meant ! Not ?
That should have been in there somewhere. Emily's takedown of Shira was amazing and Richard's confrontation with Mitchum was equally awesome, with Richard even about to punch Mitchum. Just shows how much they care about their granddaughter. And the look on Richard's face when he watches Rory give her speech at the episode is a testament to Edward Herrmann's acting.
Jess turning the sprinklers back on.
I loved that scene and nobody ever mentions it
agreed! (:
I love it too! Just rewatched that episode recently
I don't even ship Jess and Rory, but I love that scene! It was just perfect.
That scene had so much sexual tension
Yes!! Especially because Emily was usually trying to push Chris and Lorelai together
That was a big scene
I still love that scene when Luke pushes Jess in the water.
Lorelai singing her heart out when she sings "I Will Always Love You" at karaoke (it so was a serenade)
That moment always gets to me. 😩
MsLauroraBorealis ...and then Luke walks in... oooooh it was so good!!
That's definitely a number one for me
I know I'm really late but I'm watching this scene right now and it's so weird that i saw your comment 😂
I love when Luke and Loreli break into the church to break the bells and he reveals he was the one who broke them the first time.... also the fact the pastor walks in and was like carry on cracks me up too!!
What episode was this?
My favourite Girlmore Girls moment is when Luke pushes Jess into the Lake :D.
My favorite moment is when it finally ended
mine too
Mangan2504 when jess talked to Rory about how she quite Yale.
Absolutely.
Colleen Williams funny how my two favorite moments are both mentioned here, by the OP and you.
You know Jess and Rory had the best chemistry because the actors dated in real life.
Ellida Munch except for matt(logan)
@@ellidamunch2389 she dated him for the rest of the run they dated for 4 yrs
Exactly. Hunk
The first time Rory and Jess kiss and the first time they got together set my heart on fire. I'm team Roress/Jessory aka Literati.
Ress should totally be their ship name
One of my top Gilmore moments is on the episode where Richard Gilmore has a heart attack. That precious moment between father and daughter when Richard wakes up to find Lorelai in tears watching him sleep. He was shocked to see how much his daughter truly did care, and seeing her get emotional about her father was just a beautiful moment since we all know they haven't had the best relationship.
Luke keeping the horoscope!!!
Nope. Top moment is definitely kirks movie.
TRUE THO
Whenever he has his shirt off I notice his nipples are not aligned
Madison PHANDOM
LOL ❤️️
yyasssss
This list just made me realise how many great moments this show had but I do think Luke pushing Jess into the lake should of been on the list that was the funniest moment ever 😂
Hahaha, I actually was satisfied when Luke did that to Jess...that guy has been giving him attitude left and right.
Some of my additions:
What should have gone down was:
(1) Jess confronts Rory for dropping out of Yale
(2) the Goodbye scene under the tent that Luke made for Rory, where you see the whole town showing their love
(3) The scene in the pilot where Lorelai is running around in her Daisy Dukes, because she forgot to pick up her dry cleaning
(4) Rory dying Lane's hair
(5) Kissing Dean in the supermarket and then running with corn starch
(6) Rory and Jess first kiss (ok you had that one)
(7) Rory and Lorelai's grads (ok agree with you there)
(8) dont know why, but, I thought of the scene where Luke gives Lorelai the necklace , so sweet of him
(9) The scene in the hospital when Lorelai's dad has a heart attack and Luke keeps looking down, and Lorelai says to Luke "So I said you look good. We're not in 5th grade! 'You look good', big deal...stop staring at me",
(10) When Rory tells Dean, "I love you, you idiot", after they had broken up the first time
there are more, but how many other GG fans agree?
number three is not from the pilot
when Luke takes Lorelai to that restaurant and says "I'm in, I'm all in
when Lorelai sings Dollys version of I will always love you
I love every moment Lorelai is rambling.
Number 1 is definitely on my list of "hallelujah!" moments because thank god someone talked sense into her about that one! And number 2 was so sweet! :)
I 100% agree
These aren't really moments, so much as episodes. Lorelai telling Emily "We're done" at the end of "Wedding Bell Blues" would make my list.
Oh shit, yeah. I got chills at that.
omg yass
Seriously. I love this series, but this is stupid.
+beth liebermann whats stupid??
This was my reaction as well. Not moments.
rory sleeps with dean should totally NOT be on the list
hell no, that WAS one of the biggest moments! and it was imo perfect for the show because until then Rory's life was almost absurdly picture perfect + it was very believable.
Carolina AGREED
The Rogans (fans of Rory and Logan) are hoping there will be another season to finally see them together💕
jess was way more than just a bad boy phase, jokes on you when they get together in the rivial
oh god! yes, please! they HAVE TO get together!!
I have a strong feeling it's going to be Rory and Logan but I truly hope you're right. Jess and Rory are perfect together!
Jess was always my favorite :-( dean bugged me so much
I thought I was the only one
+Vohalika tbh I only Liked Dean bc he was played by Jared padalecki
I loved Dean. He only became annoying because he was jealous of Jess. But that just proves how much he loved and cared about her.
I didn't mind Dean but for some reason I liked him way better in the later episodes. He was just too nice and whiny at the beginning.
Kirk's first date with Lulu at Luke's, with a candlelight dinner and all: I saw that scene again recently and couldn't stop laughing!
YES
My favorite episode is when she goes to NY to visit Jess because he didn't say goodbye
What about that time Luke finds out Jess works at walmart and starts mocking him, calling him the all-american boy eating apple pie, and jess leaves his apple pie and heads out lol
Still #TeamJess after all these years.
Before I was Team Dean but later on in the season when Jess got better, I actually rooted for them too. Alas, it didn't happen....
#TeamLogan all the way ! ❤️
I'm team anyone but Jess!
#TeamJess since the first time they met :D
Jemnem x Kudos on your excellent taste!
Really? Jess brought out the worst in Rory? He got her to go back to college and graduate. He had his douchey moments but he grew up. Logan brought out the WORST in Rory.
He brought out the worst in her in the earlier seasons, but once he got his act together he brought out the best in her
Lol! Logan was the best boyfriend that Rory had
Everytime he smiles at Rory and you can tell how much he loves her, those are my favourite moments which make my heart melt!
missed jess picking (and losing) a fight with a swan
Esta Fortaleza OMG YESSSSS
Esta Fortaleza And telling Rory that he got hit by a football. 😂
Esta Fortaleza lol
"You jump, I jump Jack" was worth SO much more than honorable mention. - When at random times I find myself in need of a Gilmore Girls fix.... that is my go to episode.
One of mine is that damn dona Reed episode
Lorelai singing Did you ever know that your my hero after the fight between Jess and Dean.
I am so happy there wasn't a single Christopher moment listed, not even an honorable mention. Words can not express just how much I hated Christopher.
Aw, he was definitely not who I wanted to become "the one" but he's still Rory's dad.
+Sofia Loveland agreed
I completely agree! He was awful.
I'd agree, but Luke sucker punching Christopher is in my top 5! also Luke vs Christopher in the town square....
at the wedding, i really hoped they'd be together.
WHAT ABOUT THE BIG FRIDAY NIGHT DINNER FIGHT???
And this is more so one of my many favorite lines that just came to me for some reason:
"It was then, sadly, that I discovered Luke could not read." :D
omg, friday night dinner fight is a masterpiece!
Absolutely. It was like a classical orchestral piece with themes and movements, duets and trios and occassionally the full quartet. Very well done.
The one from "Friday Night's All Right For Fighting" was kinda hilarious
+rozyy21 YAS! I love that episode
rozyy21 yes!
Not in Order
- You jump, I jump jack
-Rory's Chilton graduation
-The town protester followed by Jess finding his car deviled egged
-Luke keeping the horoscope
- The dance marathon
-Emily telling Mrs. Huntzberger off
-Luke pushing Jess in the lake
-Emily and Richard's wedding
-Kirks movie
-Logan saving Rory from her grandparents party of suitors
Guess it's obvious I'm #TeamLogan
Yeahh, a fellow Rogan shipper, those are hard to come by.. I was absolutely appalled when I realised there were no Logan-moments on the list.. I mean, Jess was an ass and Dean was just.. Dean.. #TeamLogan
Emma van den Boomgaard . Jess pushed Rory back to Yale and to write a book in the revival could Logan do that he would probably just say yes father will buy you a place to work . He brought out the worst in Rory she stole a boat and he clearly didn’t love her because when they split for a while he slept with like 7 girls. He also cheats with Rory on his fiancée who knows if he would have done that to her if they married
shipping jess and rory
and logan too tho
THEY ARE MENT TO BE TOGETHER AND OMG WOULD THEIR BABIES BE HOT
Rory and Jess, of course
RORY + LOGAN ALL THE WAY BRUH!!!! TEAM LOGAN!!!!
I really loved the moment when Luke goes to Lorelai's house to make up and she's watching that old movie and she opens the door and he just kisses her 😊❤
I love it when Rory realises what the rocket ship means
I'm shocked Rory's Goodbye party form the last episode didn't make it to the list!
Probably because most people hate the last season. It was so un-Gilmore
+Jordan J. I really liked the last season, in my opinion because it showed change for the gilmore family.
Jordan J. that's because Amy Sherman-Palladino didn't have anything to do with that season, she hasn't even watched it.
Aurora Lindsay Lol I know
You mean Jess brought out the best in Rory!
Gina Gußmann only during season 6 🙄
daren humphrey nah not only during season 6.
I so agree!!
Not sure I agree with these moments as top 10, but I looove Gilmore Girls. So its fun to watch anyways :D
Same
Jess is hands down the best!! 😊❤️
Jess treated Rory really bad! How is he the best?
JESSS FOREVER ♾
Logan’s the best for me.
All the feels watching this video😊 Now I gotta watch all the seasons on DVD again..
Im on the 7th season again... :(
i need to get new ones cause I've watched them so much
I need to have another rewatch if the series before the new 4 episodes come out in November.
Lourdes same!
You had some of the biggest ones but you missed a few:
1. Lorelai to emily "why don't you care, you never cared" was amazing.
2. Luke taking the sledge hammer and kills the wall "we will hold hands and skip later"
3. sookie's "are you pregnant" to jackson on the lawn showed us what MM will be later.
I can not wait for the new Eps on Netflix and that everyone back on the show.
I cried when Logan took the ring and said "Goodbye Rory" and left I still ship them!!💕
"You Jump, I Jump, Jack" is still my favorite episode. Even if Logan wasn't the best BF ever, he did help Rory grow a lot.
Sofia Loveland yeah into a brat
Logan was the best boyfriend ever in my estimation.
I am a boy and I loooove this show! :D Also Sam Winchester's name is Dean.
Heh i'm a Man and i love Gilmore Girls too :) especially Alexis Bledel :) She is wraaaaaaauuuuuuuuu :D
omg yes!!! he will always be Dean
So glad to see boys love this show too. My brother was always making fun of me for watching it but I think it was because the dialogue was just too quick for him. 😁
Yeah, I had a hard time when watching Supernatural to see Dean calling the other one Dean. After so many years, still can not get used to that.
Joy Gomes
Absolutely absolutely my favorite series of all time it's just absolutely timeless ❤️❤️❤️ no show will ever top it
for me one of the best moments was when Dean broke up with Rory on her birthday party at Emily and Richard's and Logan and all the boys saw it. And then Finn offering to act out his version of passion of the christ
My favourite moment is when Logan and Rory jump together.
You jump , i jump jack !
The fasbacks then Lorelai got pregnant and Rory was born.
Dunno how Rory sleeping with Dean got in here but I agreed with the rest
I honestly love the scene where Luke foes to visit Jess in the later seasons in his crap apartment and goes "the guys next door didn't have any crack to sell to me so I came over here to see if you had any'
Hannah L. I love your profile pic !
Love these! One of my favorites is also when Lorelai and Emily walk the runway together
HOW DID THEY NOT INCLUDE COLLIN AND FINN ON THIS LIST!!!
" Rory, do you have your owners manual with you, love". Lol. Remember when they got drunk listening to the folk singer
+Bethany Laranjo YASSS that's ine of my favourite episodes
*one
Because they're annoying af
When they officially reinstated Friday night dinner. That scene was just perfect, we could really see the chemistry between the Gilmores.
I cried the whole of the last episode in season 7 and so end during her bon voyage party. #gilmoregirlsforever
The thing about jess and rory that eventhough he did kind of brought the worse-ish out of rory it wasnt entirely jess's fault cause first the accident was exactly that an accident and the skipping school was only ONE day ugh and also missing lorelai's graduation wasnt jess's fault he didnt know about it and jees is perfect for rory because c'mon logan was the worst because he didnt even try to stop rory from quitting school and logan was so arrogant and prissy like no he's so not for rory dont even get me started with dean just because he was bitter and sad and he wanted to make rory jealous he gets married to the first girl that paid attention to him that wasnt rory pathetic he may have the rory's first but he was such a shitty boyfriend like i was so annoyed by him
rant over and just imagine rory and jess married they would never have a boring and hollow conversation ever unlike if rory marries dean ugh
Thumbs up x10!
+sheri nasser Rory and Jess married would make my life complete
sheri nasser I totally agree, but in real life why do people need to date the least of the worst? Why not wait for someone mature or be single?
honestly in my opinion Dean was the worst and Jess the best
I'm just glad that I have an amazing Mom that decided to share it with me.
well, I totally miss Luke's "I want back those three hours"-scene when he's dealing with Nicole's lawyers - that was one of my top ten moments
I would also have included the scene when Lorelai and Luke team up to "destroy" the annyoing bells
and at last I would have included the scene when Luke, Jess and T.J. get ready for T.J.'s wedding to Liz
Gilmore Girls is my favorite TV show ever ever ever and I have been obsessed with it forever I cried like 3 times just watching this lol I cannot wait for the new ones to come out!!!!
one of my favorites "I need the hat rack" "the fish flies at night"
I love when Lorelei sang I will always love you and luke walks in
i also like the scene where Emily says “I sAw heR kisSiNg a mAN!”
"In A tRaCk SuIt!"
OMG YESS
How could you not put in the time where Jess told Rory he loves her and then he left. I cried.
A couple of extras:
- Emily's takedown of Sheila Huntzberger;
- Friday family fight night;
- the look shared between Lorelai and her dad the first time he has a heart attack;
- Luke pushing Jess into the lake (sorry but he deserved it!);
- Luke building the tent to save the party and the "I just want to see you happy" to Lorelai;
- Paris' questioning Logan at the door after the Bridesmaid saga (personally I break out into a fit no matter how many times I see that).
Omg I cried when Rory held her graduation speech !
When Colin, Finn and Logan play that prank on Rory in class
I love Logan. I thought the life and death brigade jump was so cute and watching as their relationship progressed was adorable. AH. The rocket ship!
Am I the only one who LOVES logan and wanted Rory to accept his marriage proposal? I cried so much during their farewell!
Lorelai's graduation always brings tears to my eyes!
When Emily visited Rory in Stars Hollow and they went to Mrs. Kims shop...the conversation between Emily and Mrs. Kim is so fast and funny as hell XD
i don't have a top 10 every scene every episode was my favorite 💙 gilmore girls was my childhood i grew up with them and the show always made me feel better 😍 i will always love every single season of this amazing show! 😊 can't wait to experience them again! i can't wait to share this show with my kids one day 💛
I can’t believe lauralei serenading to Luke didn’t make it on the list! I cry each time!
I just started whatching it again and now this list. Perfect timing!!
Awww why, now I wanna binge watch the episodes again!
I have been waiting for this video forever!!! Another great one not mention was the last episode with what Luke did for Rory and that kiss with Lorelai
I love the scene when Emily starts chopping her last green bean into tiny pieces to annoy Richard's mom😂
The life and death brigade- And when Luke throws Rory the farewell party and then Lorelai finds out Luke did it and they kiss
Edward Herrmann was the absolute guv'nor... and I'm not saying that because he's dead, but because he was magnificent.
So many scenes in this show that give me goosebumps
Great list! Number 1 had me screaming at my tv back in the day :) It was SO exciting! :)
SAME HERE!!!
Rg Renick :D
