I've never played the game, and I want to play the game now after seeing it on UA-cam, but Asura would've massacred the ENTIRE military force along with his former comrades.
Man.... That scream at 15:40 is soul crushing. Bring tears to my eyes every time. A excellent combination of engaging story, compelling character, superb music and majestic voice performance.
btw i ralate alot of this game and berserk not 100% i can say that asura in the end of the game is what guts is now, someone drive by love and rage to protect not only destroy
This scene is both badass and so sad, Asura is both abysmal distress and a monstrous rage I would even say that he feels at this moment an incalculable hatred against the murderers of this young lady and her little brother this vision makes her crack. This proves that for a god he is far more human than most mortals in the game or in the real world. I feel a lot of empathy and sadness for him his scream shows that it is his soul that screams and touches me deep inside me. The seiyu has done a sick job to give so much power and emotion in this voice.
My Lord The Covenant & The Forerunners would have been obliterated if Asura was part of the UNSC , he certainly could join, having the ability also to survive in Sheer space without a suit is cool also. I Master Chief wish I could fight the covenant in space without the armor.
Having watched this again after playing all of The Last of Us, this is precisely what Joel should've done at the beginning of the game after what happened to sara.
Idk I'm probably on my own in this but I think Liam's portrayal of this particular scene was better. I definitely felt the sadness within the rage (especially at the ending with the credits rolling, sounded more like he was crying and shouting at the same time). But I do like the japanese voice over for this scene. Speaking of Asura in particular, Liam's portrayal nearly brought me to tears because of how sad it was, while the Japanese version felt sad, just not as sad.
And it ends with the souls going up. Probably the girl's that comes into view, before being swallowed up like all the others, as a final reminder that no matter how much Asura suffers, he can do nothing for those already slaughtered. Not a thing. Heads will roll indeed.
Yeah, I agree. I loved Liam's voice acting, it was phenomenal, but this definitely gives more of an impression that Asura's rage stems from sadness as well, which it does. All the people that are close to him die, and he's just forced to watch the injustice of the world unfold and kill even more innocents.
You gotta remember, the way that little girl is laying shes looking straight at him. Given also the fact she looks just like his daughter, Asura pretty much watched as his former comrades and friends murdered his daughter, quote unquote. Thats why i liked this scene. Also i dont think the english scene had the music, so yeah, +1 japan lol
I LOVE THE VOICE ACTING ON THE JAPANESE VERSION. It has more 'feel' to it if you know what I mean. Plus, the song when he got all raged out? PRICELESS. Somehow I like the feeling when the main character rages out, and becomes something so horrifying and destructive that he is feared from everyone, Such as the 4 tail beast form on naruto, the vasto lorde form on bleach, and yours truly Asuras fucking wrath.
Liam O'Brien was a better Asura than the natural Japanese one. I know what you mean, when you talk about feeling the voice of the character. English version of Naruto is weak and emotionless. Liam O'Brien and the rest really did a good job in the English one though.
+Azumish Wrong. It was the JAPANESE version for both versions. Please don't spread misinformation just because you like on of them more than the other.
Actually while Asura was still himself (not berserk) it was the japense voice actor. When he does turn into a monster (berserk form) it's Liam O'Brien.
I played this in Japanese a long time ago and recently watched a playthrough in English just to see how the dub is. Overall, the English is very good, BUT there are lots of lines that just lack the weight and emotion, especially from Yasha. Anyway, the main point is Asura's screams here, while the English is also good, I can definitely feel the "pain" more from the Japanese one, especially at 10:43, that really tugs at my heartstrings... It's time like this that makes me see the difference between a voice actor who can voice a character professionally and one who BECOMES the character.
And not realizing the berserker form that is the same dub version is used for the Japanese sub version that Liam O'Brien screamed in So they used the berserker form that Liam O'Brien dubbed in English and used it for the Japanese sub version So it's interesting to see that they couldn't get the Japanese voice actor for asura to do Liam O'Brien's screams used for berserker form.
Nah Liam did well but the Japanese just fits better and it IS. It's a lot more epic cause Asura shows more sadness than rage, althought both at the same time.
Also,is it just me or did they use Liam O' Brien's voice over for berserk Asura, despite the fact that this is the Japanese version? Heh, Honestly, I felt that O' brien surpassed his Japanese counter part in this particular scene. He NAILED it.
Actually interesting enough i did a bit of research and found out that Dragon Ball Z pretty much revolves on the idea of Hinduism mythology. or every anime that involves a person with abilities or turning into something with the death of a love one. Read about mythology of the Hindu gods.
Despite the English version screaming I get why they edited every time in your belief starts playing its because the English vocal singer wouldn't hit as well as the English one.
@demondude312 Same reason Dragonball Z in English had a different soundtrack from the Japanese version, I guess. The Japanese version is original work so they have to make it different from the translated version.
+alexvilla2439 To be fair, I just watched the Japanese, AND the Liam O'Brien version, and the screams that Asura does in his wrath form sound exactly the same.
To be honest, I really like both dubs. Yasha's yells in the english version seemed monotone to me, but I haven't heard his japanese yells for a while, so they're probably the same. As for this episode, I like the japanese dub better, since in the english version Asura sounds highly enraged before transforming, but the japanese version seems more like crying out in pain and anger, which suits more to what happened. This is still a great game nonetheless
Man, I really wish you could choose the voiceover audio and the music audio independently in this game. The music in this scene with the japanese audio is 50 times better, but the screaming sounds less emotional in japanese, and I would like to understand what is being said.
jatoatley...I'd use stronger words; anguish is more like it, along with the implication that, like the achievement title even says, *heads are gonna roll for this*. And like the original poster, I agree, Liam O'Brien's anguished roar is much more emotionally powerful-- you can almost physically feel how torn apart Asura is that (to him, anyway) he has lost his daughter AGAIN...and like the first time, there was nothing he could do about it. And, Asura's screaming, combined with the visuals, confirm that for all his rage beforehand, compared to *what is coming*? Asura was just *mildly miffed*-- the true, limitless extent of his wrath is at hand. It will be epic. It will be glorious. It will be *terrifying* to behold.
Can anyone confirm which voice actor did the vocals for Asura's Berserker form? Both tracks use the same VA for this, so I was wondering who it was. I'd lean towards it being the Japanese VA because the combat screams sound very Eastern.
I searched for a while for this particular scene in Japanese out of curiosity, and I have to agree; Liam just did it better. For this scene at least. The Japanese version gets points for using the vocal theme though.
I have to disagree on this. The Japanese version is kinda better, but does not show as much emotion in this part as the English version. I am astounding at the music, its really good, but why only in the Japanese version? Thats not really fair. Now, I know this is just my opinion, but still.... I am just saying its true. Good Music, Not as much as emotional as the Japanese version.
and this happens with just ONE random girl that resembles his daughter, imagine what he would do if it were his daughter
Reaching shaggy's level of power
I've never played the game, and I want to play the game now after seeing it on UA-cam, but Asura would've massacred the ENTIRE military force along with his former comrades.
Probably the same results, imo
But beyond worse
15:40 That scream.....won't be forget....
He is Crying... like me😥
After years i dont forgot 8:58
This was Liam O'brian Scream 👌
That’s actually the English actor for Asura, Liam o Brien. They use the dub for Berserker Asura
Even a God of wrath holds grief😔
I feel that pain.
In the minute 15:46, in those screams I hear more sadness than anger...
10:44 I was crying when I heard his scream.
So he change from machine gun to Satellite Cannon huh...
Didn't happen to Joel, happened to Abby tho lmao
So sad and epic at the same time. My favorite level in the entire game.
Necesitamos un anime de asura's wrath con urgencia
Wrath is a sin that will be never be erased and we will always live with it.
Idk I'm probably on my own in this but I think Liam's portrayal of this particular scene was better. Funny you should mention that, Liam’s voice is used for Berserk Asura in this part
And it ends with the souls going up. Probably the girl's that comes into view, before being swallowed up like all the others, as a final reminder that no matter how much Asura suffers, he can do nothing for those already slaughtered. Not a thing. Heads will roll indeed.
OH MY FUCKING GOD, That's the most epic rage I've ever seen in my life
Yeah, I agree. I loved Liam's voice acting, it was phenomenal, but this definitely gives more of an impression that Asura's rage stems from sadness as well, which it does. Finally... A good Japanese Dub with English Sub...
Dub !!!? it's origin Japanese my friend 😃
Yeah as i understand it, theyre like a race of heavenly golems, or people with cybernetic implants.
And that is why u don't get on anyone's bad side when there trying to protect something they love because then you deal with there inner God Demon
Yall remember that old commercial with the American Native, and the single tear drop?
Welp, he is a Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds on the contrary to Kratos being Never-My-Fault deathmachine...
11:00 holy shit demon asura
FEEL MY WRATH OOOOOOLGAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!
She struck that pose one too many times >_
Damn thats a powerful and moving ending
This is so fricking sad
Im crying for all that Asura lost in this time
15:22 and beyond always makes me cry :_:.
Love it. 10:16 just gives so much subtle rage, leading into fairly obvious rage.
By Far My favorite episode To watch
Isso é o ápice de um rage que uma pessoa consegue chegar, não tem como ultrapassar isso!
Really so sad 😔, I fucking cry. 😢

For this part, Asura screaming in both Japanese and English versions was done by the English voice actor. That's how good he was.
+Azumish

John Smith Lol what the he'll are you talking about? The scream was always Liam.
Wow. I nearly shed a tear or two. Friggin amazing. Thank you for the upload
14:05 Asura's nuke bomb 15:28 screamer
When I watched this I was all like. "RUN GIRL RUN LIKE DA WIND..." After tht I wanted to be Asura! he's awesome. He's my MINECRAFT skin
That's cool
So basically asura is the asian kratos
EXACTLY!
Except far more likeable, less of a dick to bystanders, and is a s***-ton more powerful than Kratos ever will be.
Kratos is a weaker version of asura
Nope!
That a true wrath of asura
It's like anger, despair, and pain
the power comes from anger and sadness,
and so I wonder if he is kenshiro ancestor?
I played this in Japanese a long time ago and recently watched a playthrough in English just to see how the dub is. Overall, the English is very good, BUT there are lots of lines that just lack the weight and emotion, especially from Yasha.

They're a mechanical species with godly powers. O.o
oh so thats what really happened at zanarkand
Hulk + Goku = Asura
That is a Fact I would like to state XD
10:15 moe-moe girl, nooooooooo!!!!!!!! that's it, i want revenge, bloody revenge! tear them apart, now!!!!
That partner you okay them.
11:04 did anyone ever notice that symbol on his hand?
Nah Liam did well but the Japanese just fits better and it IS. It's a lot more epic cause Asura shows more sadness than rage, althought both at the same time.
Sorry for typos I hate iPhones auto type
Enter the Kyubi..
I didn't think he died when he fought all the Gohma.
Also,is it just me or did they use Liam O' Brien's voice over for berserk Asura, despite the fact that this is the Japanese version? Heh, Honestly, I felt that O' brien surpassed his Japanese counter part in this particular scene. He NAILED it.
Definite Sadness
0:51 Ashura.. Varuna😍
Is that Hindu or Japanese???
Actually interesting enough i did a bit of research and found out that Dragon Ball Z pretty much revolves on the idea of Hinduism mythology. or every anime that involves a person with abilities or turning into something with the death of a love one. Read about mythology of the Hindu gods.
Epic game and one of the best Episodes :)
devil asura ...omg is so fucking amazing
Makes me want to get up and kick something
🤷♂️Isn't it odd how the lip sync is off for almost all languages?
asura is awesome and kickass then kratos
Despite the English version screaming I get why they edited every time in your belief starts playing its because the English vocal singer wouldn't hit as well as the English one.
@demondude312 Same reason Dragonball Z in English had a different soundtrack from the Japanese version, I guess.

Sorry, I meant to say not as much emotional as the English version.
This was good.....damn good. But I prefer Liam O'Brien's version of this scene....
+alexvilla2439 To be fair, I just watched the Japanese, AND the Liam O'Brien version, and the screams that Asura does in his wrath form sound exactly the same.
+Daiemio but the scream leading up to it is completely different. Liam's scream gave me the most absolute chills that exist.
Daiemio That's cuz Liam did both screams.
this game is just pure OWNAGE.....nice gameing and happy to see you back, hope u get the next vid soon :D,so....keep up the good work ^^
Except the lip synch is also off in English.

Japanese version all the way
I love polemic !Who is the best : Kratos or Asura ?
ASURA!

I think the lip synch was made for the english voices, not the japanese.
You alone bady weman
Yes It was
Man, I really wish you could choose the voiceover audio and the music audio independently in this game.

DorianMichaelsIII Fair enough. And I do prefer the English voices, especially here.
Japanese here , way more emotions for me. Its your personal preference though
What language did the girl speak? Indian or Japanese???
I will get a new asura wrath soon!!!! :)
It had the music, and was alright.
But I agree, Japanese version is slightly better.
Oh S#$@, he's you'r MINECRAFT skin?! You'r really hardcore, man.
don't tell me you think it's not awesome.
The music is to loud in japanese version -_-
10:49 Holy chite
Jesus, i hate it when people have to analyze the voices like this. Just enjoy it for goodness sake lol.
Holy spirit. Sss3.

+Dara D In my opinion, Liam did the screams for the berseker asura
It was Liam
Is it me, or is the lip syncing a little off?

I searched for a while for this particular scene in Japanese out of curiosity, and I have to agree; Liam just did it better. For this scene at least. The Japanese version gets points for using the vocal theme though.
