- The parents of a renowned Israeli-American hostage said after Hamas released a recorded video of their son that they were “relieved to see him alive.”
The parents of Hersh Goldberg-Polin said in their own video that they are also concerned about his health and wellbeing "as well as that of all the other hostages.”
Jon, Goldberg-Polin's father, pleaded for the parties involved in negotiations to release hostages held in Gaza to “seize this moment and get a deal done to reunite all of us with our loved ones and end the suffering in this region.“
The video was the first sign of life of Hersh Goldberg-Polin since Oct. 7, when he was seen being taken away in a Hamas truck with severe injuries to his left arm.
It was not clear when it was taken.
In the released video, Goldberg-Polin accused Israel’s government of abandoning the hostages who remain in Hamas captivity.
