Sandipani School was a one year project, where our role was right from the planning of the building to its finishing. Its a very sensitive project since the user group was ranging from 3 - 18 years in age. So throughout 4 floors of this building, fondly call as the pre-primary building, we have Pre-Primary students in the ground and first and higher secondary students in the upper floors. The best part is as you go floor by floor you see the changes in the ergonomic combinations,colors, utility and experience of the space to make it functionally apt. The stairs are also sensitively planned with risers of 100mm for smaller age groups and that of higher heights for bigger age group as one goes above. Best part is that the overall charm and vibe of the complete building is vibrant and ties up the entire block. Its a huge building yet one feels very cosy and warm within the built spaces because of addition of architectural features such as arches in the atrium.
