Out of all the mortis engine effects we've seen so far, the papa nurgle one is the first that actually seems fair. It helps that he cant really cycle charge and I mean who wouldnt start dying as soon as you get near that fella, it just makes sense.
it seesm the opposite, being a bit TOO strong, and killing things around him WAY too fast, that mixed with the fact the 2 great unclean ones are virtually invincible because of their toughness and the ability to heal each other back and forth back up to full health indefinitely and both have mortis effects means you physically cannot out dps them than they can out heal you....
@@DeathSithe92 which is only an issue if you only have melee units, which there's only what 1 or 2 factions in the game which don't have a viable ranged option? Hell khorne could've easily brought a soul grinder as a ranged option and it would've done wonders

@@DeathSithe92 I dont think its too strong. This match was the definition of getting counterpicked, obviously this things will happen. As mentioned several times in the video, any other faction with good AP missiles would have absolutely destroyed the single entities.

I'm really impressed at all the little animations going on with nurglings 12:14 you can see one dive off a dying plague bearer as it goes down, like it's abandoning a sinking ship lol.
This single sentence perfectly describes the essence of Nurgle.
The Nurglings in this remind me a lot of the Overlord minions.
Those nurgle death heads need to do damage more like the dwarven blasting charges.
They just don't look like they 'feel' worth it.
I think they lack explosive dmg which is the main reason dawi did so much dps.
@@iamdanyboy1 I think part of the problem, is that Death Head projectiles have pretty much always been junk since they were added to the tabletop. GW has never found a way to make attacking with grenades an effective and meaningful part of the game. I think they are in a spot where they could/would be too powerful if you could 'fire' them like you fire a boltgun for example.
@@jamesespinosa690 oh. Sorry ..I am not that knowledgeable about the TableTop models. But yeah. They could use a rework in game. It would be nice to see the damage split in the tooltip for the ammo.
BTW thank you so much for casting these basic land battles. The Dominion battles were a neat little change of pace, but I've been worrying that we'd never be able to see these good old classic 1v1 death matches.

Definitely going to have to be careful how you deal with Nurgle as melee armies. Really eager to see more Domination mode videos too!
Matchups like this is what I’m most excited for come game three and to see how pros make it happen, because factions with significant holes like no missiles and no anti-large and lack of ap or mobility etc for me is far more interesting to watch for me watching how people anticipate and work around the flaws while playing to their strengths

I love that we have domination and classic battles for more variety in MP content. Should keep it more fresh and have different metas/builds for each.

My favorite thing about your videos is how you'll show the moment on the battlefield and then zoom in so we can watch the character animations at work.

This vid really makes you reconsider attacking Nurgle in the rear in the first place.
I honestly think that troops below a certain baseline moral score should be forced to make some kind of check to even get close to a Great Unclean One. A significant number of low tier mortal troops would simply stall rather than charge into melee with these things. It might be ackward to implement but I think it would be worth it.
That's literally the Fear rule, plus extra strength because Stench, and Terror if it's charging.

Nurgle seems like a natural counter to Khorne. Hard to rack up kill count, mortis effect, and you don't have much mobility or range to take them out.

@@50ULL355 Khorne is very good vs Slaneesh tho. And does ok vs Tzeentch too. Its rock paper scissors. Slaneesh destroys Tzeentch, ok vs Nurgle and Terrible vs Khorne. And so on.

@@Marth667 I mean this sort of thing is everywhere in RTS which goes with diverse faction philosophy. Which is more fun that equal across all with minor changes RTS factions like AoE 2.

I honestly see Nurgle doing better against range factions than everyone thinks they well. Toads are fast, the flys are fast and the forsaken are fast and tanky so it works
they can deal with ranged factions, they just cant bring the big toys out like GUOs. Need to go wide and cheap

amazing battle, one of my favorites of these wh3 early showcases. Im glad Grandfather Nurgle is my fav chaos god. I love playstyle of fortitude over strength, and attrition battles.

You know what's the best about this game?
Is that as time moves, dlc-s will come out. What does it mean? For a moderate and suprisingly satisfying price, if we are lucky, we can get as much content for this game as we did for TW:WH2. Wich means, new factions, insane amounts of bugfixes and ai upgrades, new races, and new mighty units for our existing ones. I am so hyped for this game!

I really hope modders add some spilling out guts and the like to the Nurgle models after release along with the blood pack, as wierd as it sounds CA's feels way too "clean" more like a child's toy, than the bringers of death and decay

The plague drones and rot flies should've died with Skarbrand, but I noticed when the rampage kicked in, a lot of the models stayed airborne instead of being forced into melee, I believe that should be fixed because that is pretty much a tool that you should, but can't rely on against important matches with flying units.
Everytime I see a nurgle battle I'm like "oh man they are fucked" and then they just don't die lol. Tanky boys.

Kinda wish the burning unit banner that symbolizes Khorne units degrading was the effect to show units are "burning" since it's a much more important status effect in game three.

Well... AP frankly isn't their main concern. They don't have a lot of armour, but rely on just having tons of health, heals and physical resistance. Meaning, something like a unit of Sisters of Averlorn would be much more threatening because it gets past the resistances and reduces healing.

I'm interested to see Nurgle vs. Vampire Counts, although I think Vamps would lead due to blood knights, lore of vampires, and better fliers.
Vampire monsters are going to be a nightmare for Nurgle until Nurgle gets some DLC.
Vampire Coast might even actually be worse. Nurgle has no answers for a crab rush or a gunpowder spam.
@@banriswirl6414 Wouldn't be too sure about this. A built like this with a double GUO is pretty much unsnipeable if you don't have strong ranged and the Counts don't have any ranged to begin with. If Skarbrand couldn't crush them, I doubt a Terrorgheist or Varghulf would leave much of an impression of those cheeks.
I think Nurgle has a lot of potential to become somewhat of an indestructible wrecking ball.
Coast would be a troublesome matchup because they have a lot of powder, but I don't think the match-up actually favours the counts.

Little lore question, but aren't the chaos warriors of Khorne from the Tong tribes introduced in the 2nd edition? They weren't able to send a major war horde since the annihilation of the Tsavags by the claws of Uz'uhl the Skulltaker. Plus, the Tong are described as being the furthest most, and most heavily mutated, Norscans in the whole warhammer world.
I mean, the Tong didn't get retconned did they?

I feel like the the cultists for all factions are going to be a must have for the summon alone, the free summon in the backfield of a quality unit when the lines clash is so great it’s probably OP but without the cultists are kinda useless so I don’t see them losing it in a balancing pass
