I had this impression that I was the only dude around who listens to Nevermore, but then, by checking out the auditions I see a crowd of Nevermore fans everywhere, and talented bass players and singers rocking UA-cam with sweet covers; it's so cool.
I've seen several of these covers and they did pretty good. But with you, you're on another level. Only took the first line and I was hooked. Your vibrato, voice control and strength are incredible. Absolutely love your voice. You would be the perfect fit for Nevermore. I really hope they choose you to join. Would love to hear you in the future with such an awesome band.
Hey Man What an awesome Voice it brings me tears in my eyes because i was thinking that Warrel is singing You need to contact Jeff Loomis for the singer of Nevermore Reunion. so damn Great.
Finally…. Someone NOT trying to sound like Warrel Dane. Nobody can ever expect anyone to replicate his voice. So don’t try. Just own it. Like it’s yours. And this is that. Awesome. My one criticism…. Let your voice do the work. Don’t growl. Figure out how to get the power without it. It will sound WAY better. Not that this sounds bad at all. Probably my top choice of all the NM “auditions” I’ve seen so far.
Pretty good dude. Only thing id say is that maybe you need to control your breath a little better. Sounds like you’re pushing most of your breath out in the begging of a phrase and not saving enough to finish strong. Fix that, and I think you got it.
You have a great voice and your cover here was excellent. But in my mind as a Nevermore fan, no one is deserving to take the place of Warrel. Even the best fit for a vocalist, it would still sound and feel 'not Nevermore'. And i doubt Jeff could write such music again without the inspiration from Warrel lyrics and presence. Jim on the bass could be replaced easily without anyone noticing. But Warrel was the soul of the band. Good luck with your audition.
@ That’s what AC/DC fans said. Jeff and Van represent 2/3 of the remaining ingredients of Nevermore. It will still be Nevermore. If it were all about Warrel, Sanctuary would sound the same as Nevermore. 🤷♀️
@@bradchristy8429 i love love the music of Jeff, but without Warrel it will be a side project. Warrels vocals was more than half the Identity of the band. Yes they have the right to call it Nevermore, but with Warrel passing i think finding a new name for the new band would be more appropriate. Still curious to hear what they will come up with, i just miss the original lineup.
@ I’ll say it again…. That’s what AC/DC fans said. And then Back in Black came out. It was still AC/DC, only with a different singer. And they’ve thrived ever since, bringing along all their original fan base. Turns out, the vocals were not so much of the band’s sound as to allow his death to end the band. Same with Nevermore. There are a number of known vocalists I could easily see replace Warrel Dane. Stu Block and Matt Barlow come to mind. Hell, Ted Brazier could do well: ua-cam.com/video/-ZLiPm4i36o/v-deo.htmlsi=dRtVArVf3HnJS9KA
You're pretty good, I'll admit, but you need to be softer on the harmony and more pain in the aggressive areas. His was a very hard voice to match, but try not to match him

This is much better than any other so far. If I were Jeff/Van you would be involved, keep it up 🤘

Wow! That's seriously amazing to hear, thank you so much for the kind words!
Best vocal cover so far.. Van, Loomis give this guy a shot!
Wow was in a different room and thought this was the original with Warrel. Damn good!
Please, do Born also. Love it!
Dude you totally capture the spirit of this song🤘
Amazing voice! If Nevermore is really searching for a new singer - would be glad to hear that you get this job!!
Outstanding!! Really really incredible 🤘🏼🤘🏼

I hope you get the gig. Sounds so good
Your style is definitely the correct one for this
Good job! Good luck!
You've got an amazing voice mate.
Powerful. Hope to see you there, man!
😮😮 OMG
Flat out brilliant sir.
That was beautiful, Corey.
Wow, excellent job, gave me chills!
🤘🏻 spot on!
Cheers!
My favorite submission so far!
Even if the Nevermore gig doesn't work out I seriously hope you'll be singing somewhere. Great feel and a very unique tone 👌
This one stands out! I really dig it 🤘👋 luck
Top-notch. I like you put your own spin on it.
He owned it. Like it was his. And I think this is what is going to get the gig for whoever gets it.
Really nice job, great voice, greetings from Brazil!
Hope you get a job lol!
Great job my man!!
Awesome job man! Good luck!
Nice
You nailed it dude!
I advise you to send this to Jeff Loomis and put yourself forward. Seriously impressive voal control and sustain. Superb.
Nice!!!
Top shit!
GREAT! Hoffentlich hast Du dich auf den Sänger - Job bei NEVERMORE beworben!
I can hear the versatility and the range that Warrel brought to Nevermore! All the best Corey!🤘🤘
I love to sing this into my 32oz Yeti. Not baggin on this guy...i actually do it
Make a born video now!!❤
I love it, of all auditions you sound the least like Warrel, but it definitely works!
sounds more Warrel than the Mardy Leith guy if you ask me
my current vote would be for Corey or Michael Gerlach, couldn't decide yet though
@deadlysymptom true, i had not heard him when i posted this
This was great.Without trying to sound like Warrel and a good rendition.

no you're just not Warrel Dane
I'm Corey :)
It’s supposed to be a different singer not the same one for a reason
No one will ever replace original obviously
No. He owned it. Like it was his. It’s the only way anybody is going to be able to make it work.
Its not just about vocals.. auditioning videos have no personality 😢

I’d rather have new Nevermore with someone properly filling Warrel Dane’s shoes than no new Nevermore.
@bradchristy8429 i get that, it's just that it will be something else and not 'Nevermore'
