I have the Retekess TR-107 too and had the same trouble with the bass distortion when using BBS. What I found out is that the TR-107 is very picky on what type of earbuds or earphones it likes. I'm having no issues when using Sony MDR-AS210 sport earbuds with 50mW power handling capacity. I went through 3 other sets of earbuds before I found one that could handle the extra bass. I actually put my $44 Sangean DT-180 (which has very muddy bass) in storage in favor of the cheaper TR-107. I hope to try the Prunus model someday. Nice review! Take care.
You should try this experiment a 3.5mm splitter on the radio one end of the splitter to your headphones/speaker the other end of the splitter add a 3.5mm to F connector adapter and connect a set of rabbit ears to it, and see how much you can pick up.
Hi todderbert did you know there are AM STEREO radios? I got the SONY SRF A300 it's an AM STEREO FM STEREO radio. You should get an AM STEREO radio. Btw 630 CFCO is in stereo.
I have one of these, I work in a very quiet office and everyone has those bluetooth ear plugs in hooked up to their phones. I just like good ole radio and I don't mind ear buds hooked up to this little gem. One of my younger coworkers actually asked what it was.
I think I may have mentioned it in another video, but try out the altec lansing storm chaser. It’s their new emergency radio and it’s pretty awesome. I think it may be the best one on the market right now. It has the noaa bands, am, fm, and even shortwave plus the reception is great. It’s about even with my sangean hdr 16! On top of it being a great emergency radio it has Bluetooth too and the sound quality it has is fantastic. I highly recommend it. I’ll see if I can find a link.
$15 is a bit much for this thing when you can get a compact Sony or Panasonic radio for not much more. I appreciate the review though. Thanks for the video.
Hi Todderbert thanks for reviewing PRUNUS J-982 an interesting micro radio I must say also saw that it was available in white so that is nice and, I do not own any of these types of radio, so I will buy some of these types as well. I am very happy with my latest purchase FM / AM HeroFiber portable radio from Amazon a very nice radio with good speaker sound very comfortable to hold and, very lightweight even with batteries inserted. I'm now watching Horologe HXT-201 FM / AM portable radio and you've also done a good review on this radio it seems to be a very good radio have a nice måndag och vecka hälsningar Nils.
How do you think about reviewing ICF-SW20, 22/23 series? Althogh these series were discontinued in 2015, still they are tiny, sophisticated, well-performing radios🙂 Anyway that's a cool radio! It seems similar to the old srf series of sony.
If you have a Coby CX-14 can you review it?! I had one when I worked overnights and just recently found one on ebay to replace the one I lost while moving. It’s not the best, but very compact and perfect for what it is.
Is the battery life realy 30 hrs like it says on amazon or is it better than that? I'm looking for a small radio like this or smaller that uses headphones and has great battery life. I'm in Florida where we dodge hurricanes every year and i have lost power for 3 weeks on end with nothing but a radio in the past and that kept me informed when nothing else was working. I do have the bigger and bulier sony srf-39 with great battery life but its quite big and bulky and hogs most of the pocket. would be sweet to find something slim like this with really good battery life. even if i had to buy an older analog model.
