    Back in 2000 when I bought my Timmy. I called the company with a few questions and he answer the phone. I couldn't believe it, and he spoke nonstop for a half hour about the marker and everything else. I'll never forget it.....True story

      I'll back that story up with another, I was a broke college kid and just traded my way up to a Bob Long Vice. When I got it I heard a slight leak at the barrel when aired up. I emailed Bob Long and told them I think I need to buy a replacement poppet and spring, they asked me my address and I had a new one show up a couple days later they didnt let me pay.

      I believe it, I called on the weekend with a regulator question on my Alias. He answered said all his guys were asleep from practice and he proceeded to talk for a good while about maintaining the regs and servicing the gun. None of the guys at practice that day believed me but man it stuck with me

    How are there less than 2000 people interested in this... :( Paintball has shrunk so much, hopefully it will continue to grow as it has been lately though.

      2004-2005 was the peak. When they introduced ramping back then (PSP 15BPS) It scared all the new comers at the fields away. In fact back then you would need an upgrade board to shoot PSP, and people would just set their guns on full auto uncapped, and spray new players.

      best time to play was 2001-2008 as I remember. paintball gear, field promotions, NPPL on tv…not to mention seeing great brands like Smart Parts and Evil everywhere. It was the golden age.

      @J W Yes paintball is expensive but that's never stopped the sport from growing. Paintball is cheaper than it's ever been yet smaller than its probably ever been since the 80s. The expense is definitely not the cause.

    I have been shooting bob long guns since 99 or 2000 when the original intimidator came out. I love every iteration of his hardware. I used my v1 victory with VIS engine this past weekend. And it shot like a dream. The man is a legend and if there was a paintball Mt Rushmore he’s on it for sure.

      Damn, I remember Carpet Bob’s, if you shot him you got a patch, lol
      I also loved Paintball Sam’s, do you remember a “pro” player by the name of “Oh Pawk” (might not of spelled that correctly)? I played with him at Sam’s a few times, fun times! I had a PMI-III with a remote and a “Nasty Boys” hopper, I thought I was the shit 😎 But when I got my Automag that’s when paintball went high tech… 🤣

    I was fortunate enough to live a half mile from him. Use to go to his house and shoot the shit and kick it with Zach. Even built a course down the road and there team practiced on it(made out of tumble weeds) such good memories

    I always wondered WHY Bob suddenly got out of the sport, he just dumped his company and left the sport overnight and now we all know why, his daughter died…. I didn’t know that. May she Rest In Peace Bob, I’m so sorry for your loss but she is in a better place now. You’ll see her again 😇
    I’ve shot Bob Long guns BEFORE the Intimidator, I had a green Bob Long signature autococker. It was a great marker, I remember the grip frame being a “.45 grip frame” which was such an improvement over the stock one. I had a big ole “Air America” stainless steel regulator on the front of that thing, it was like having half an Automag on your autococker, I finally just went to an Automag, I really liked Automag’s and still do to this day. I have a classic 68 Automag and a decked out E-Mag. 😎

    Is this the real Fred Schultz, the guy who used to be on those VHS tapes included with the brass eagle markers I bought from walmart back in the late 90's? If so, I am so happy to see you again bro, your tips on those simple short tapes helped me a bit when I got into paintball in the late 90's. I have even asked other older players these pst almost 2 decades if they knew what happened to you.

    • @FreddyTheRef
      @FreddyTheRef  3 роки тому +2

      Hi Bruce. To answer your question no “i” am not Fred Schultz but he is a very good friend of mine. I have worked with him on many shows recently. He has a Facebook page called Flag Pull Productions where he does a weekly webcast. You can type in and talk to him. I also have videos on this channel where I interview him and have some of the webcasts where we sit side by side and do the show. Please feel free to go through my channel and check them out. Thanks again for your comment.
