  • Hot tent hammock time! I recently spent another 4 days up north, this time in the Huron National Forest of Michigan. I was joined by two friends for most of the trip enjoying good food and company in the frigid piney woods. The DIY stainless steel sink stove inside the hot tent is still incredible!! I was toasty warm and comfortable the entire time.

      It was nice and quiet! We were not far from town and a road so I wasn’t sure how it would be.

    Nice. Peaceful. Glad that you shared. My Smokehouse 1 is on order.
    Chainsaw running problems are usually a clogged air filter, or fuel filter. Water in the gas at those temperatures could also be a culprit, freezing in the fuel delivery system. Bring the saw inside and see if it runs better.

      That’s great, you’re going to love it! I adjusted the carburetor at home and it’s running fine now, but yeah that’s at home in a warmer garage.

    Fantastic vid as usual. I'm taking the pomoly flame and the Smokehouse 2 out this weekend. Going to be close to - 20C. Not alot of faith in getting the tent very hot but let's see! Lol. Thanks for sharing

      Thanks, have fun!! Even if you just take the edge off, it beats sitting under a cold tarp.

    Thanks for the video. Speaking for a lot of people, this content never gets old. Can you show and explain how you support the stove pipe out the side?

      It’s a tripod made with 1/4-20 threaded rod. The chimney is so light it doesn’t take much. I show more of that in a video from earlier this winter:

    I’ve always wanted to try hot tent camping. I just moved to MI, from CA. Did you mention what stove that is?

    Nice setup. I’d love to get a hot tent and stove setup either for my hammock or for ground camping but they’re expensive and my wife is tired of me buying a bunch of camping items which I understand. That said nice video and I love your setup.

      Yeah she’s gonna catch that purchase 🤣🤣 I’m going to make one myself, but after buying materials it’s really not a huge savings especially considering the time it’s going to take me. Thanks for watching!

      @@OneclickOutside I've seen the videos on how to make your own hot tent and stove. The tents actually look pretty good but the stoves not so much. Gotta sell a few items so I can justify the purchase. Until then I'll keep watching you guys.

      p.s. A pyramid tent would be cheaper, easier and less to heat. Then you could get away with a smaller stove. There are more knock-offs on Amazon and eBay now to choose from. Still a few hundred bucks total.

    • @jblaze725
      @jblaze725 2 роки тому

      @@OneclickOutside If I make one it’ll be a pyramid style because all of the diy videos I have seen are those. The cheap Amazon stoves are tempting just to get started but I see myself having to upgrade in the future anyway as people say those aren’t the best quality so I would probably go with a Pomoly and those are definitely not cheap. Winter is almost over here so this would really be for next year anyway giving me some time to figure it out.

      @@jblaze725 sounds like a plan! I bought the Luxe 3W first, then Pomoly T1, then made the DIY. Great stoves but the first two were a bit small. I think the T1 would be great in a smaller pyramid though.

      Thanks for watching! Are you referring to the area south of the Huron Mountains in the UP? If so, I was driving those backroads up there last September. AAA rd area up towards Big Bay. Some rather deep spots to drive thru but no problem for a standard SUV. At least at that time.

      Many people in Michigan carry sidearms.
