    If you ever encounter any issues with your board (like I already have) :/, I just made another video about my experience with Boosted Board Support! Go watch it here if you’re interested: ua-cam.com/video/aDm00zTxBIs/v-deo.html

      Carson Miller Do you start to shake when going full speed or no ? Or does the board shake ?

    • @carsonmtech
      @carsonmtech  4 роки тому

      Nope, I’ve never encountered that with my board. However, it can be common, and if it does occur for you, then go and tighten up your trucks some and you should be good!

      Carson Miller there is a built in speedometer if you open the boosted app on an Apple Watch it tells you the battery and speed 🙃🙂

      Yep! I know that. It’s just not everyone has an Apple Watch and it would just make sense to open up the option for everyone!

    • @carsonmtech
      @carsonmtech  5 років тому +5

      Same here lol...my biggest suggestion if you haven’t ridden a Boosted Board before is that you NEED to wear a helmet! Seriously, this is so much more powerful than you’re expecting so it’s smart to wear one. You’re bound to fall off. Even I have, I took a really nasty fall this past Sunday and if I hadn’t had my helmet on the time I fell, I may have not been able to post this video! The fall was due to a rut in the ground I was riding on, not the board itself, but still. Also, practice in a space (such as a vacant parking lot) that you don’t have to worry about running into people! Ride safe my man, have a good one!

      Onewheels are awesome. I ride mine to commute everyday. I also like the Boosted mini X for its nimbleness and speed.
      A dude pulled up next to me on a mini X in a bike lane at a traffic light, asked me how I’m liking my onewheel then sped off so fast. Awesome little board.

    Thanks for the info! I work about 2km from my house and thought this would be a perfect way to get there and back without a bike. We have a problem with bicycle theft in the area I work in so being able to have a tiny EV I can bring inside is a fantastic idea! I’m definitely considering especially after hearing you talk about it.

    Can you explain how a college student can manage the $999 price tag please and thank you

    • @FromtheSpinetotheMind
      @FromtheSpinetotheMind 5 років тому

      Nate the mini S is $750 which is still really expensive but they have other really good skateboards for cheaper

    • @carsonmtech
      @carsonmtech  5 років тому +4

      Nate, as mentioned above, the Mini S is a cheaper option out there. Also, the student discount is very, very helpful! Also, to help justify the pricing of $999 ($799 student discount), purchasing a new bike can cost $500-$1000 for a good bike. Maintenance on such bike typically costs anywhere between $100-$300 per year (insurance, registering a bike on campus, replacing tires, repairing breaks, buying new bike locks, etc.). So, let’s say we are going with the minimum in both of those cases - for 4 years of having a bike on a college campus, that’ll cost you on average $900. That doesn’t even take into account the fact that bikes are stolen on a daily basis. There is possibility that you will need to purchase a new bike sometime in those 4 years if yours gets stolen. With a Boosted Board, maintenance is a minimum cost as you really only need to get new belts replaced every 4-6 months or so (depending on usage). That costing $11/ every 6 months ($88 for 4 years) for two belts. In total, the price of owning a Boosted Mini X is only ~$187 more for a 4 year span compared to owning a bike if not using a student discount. However, if you utilize the student discount, it actually would SAVE YOU $13 in the long run.
      Now, I have to say that they aren’t exactly apples to apples in comparison, but as anyone looking to get a Boosted Board is likely considering it or a bike, I believe it makes a close comparison. I don’t want to sound like I’m defending Boosted’s pricing, as I find it a bit high myself. However, I feel it is slightly justified.

    Two questions: How does it fair when encountering small stones? This could be pretty dangerous at 20 mph. I have a similar size non electric and if I hit one around the size of a pea or a lima bean the wheel either kicks it out or in some cases stops the board on a dime. Sending me forward! Lastly is the board constantly in gear or will it allow you to roll down a hill without any power consumption?

    • @markstoll4795
      @markstoll4795 4 роки тому +1

      The Mini boards are still pretty stable besides not having flex. You should still try to avoid rocks but because of the weight it isnt as bad as with a normal skateboard. As for riding downhill boosted boards have regenerative brakes that recharge the battery when you ride downhill and/or apply the brakes.
