Periods के 2nd या 3rd day से Uterus में एक lining बनती है जिससे Endometrium कहते हैं। Endometrium का काम होता है Baby को Implant करना उसको Nurture करना। और जब हमारी Ovulation हो जाती है और उस महिने हम Concieve नही कर पाते तब यह Inner Linning Vaginal Opening से बाहर आती है जिससे Periods कहते है।

जब गर्भपात पूरा होता है तो bleeding होता है, pain होता है और बड़ा सा fleshy मांस बहार आता है। ये bleeding दो से तीन दिन तक रहता है। गर्भपात अगर पूरा हुआ है तो इसका एक संकेत ये है की एक या डेढ़ महीने बाद periods फिरसे regular आ जाते है।
अगर गर्भपात पूरी तरह से न हुआ हो तो पेट में cramps आते है, अगर ऐसा आधा अधूरा एबॉर्शन हुआ हो तो infection होने के chances भी बढ़ जाते है, ऐसी situation में डॉक्टर्स sonography करते है। ये करने से हमें समझता है की abortion complete हुआ है की नहीं और अगर न हुआ हो तो treatment की मदत से cleaning किया जा सके।
