Seahawks Red Zone Woes On Offense

The Seahawks struggled mightily in the red zone last season. What were the causes, and what might be some reasons to believe it could turn around next year?

I always felt like Waldron had no idea what to do in red zone. Always seemed to crap his pants and call DJ Dallas RB passes or some dumb thing 😂

All this great info from Brian over the months has shown, just me, one thing. Just how important Lucas is/was. '22--'23: same qb, same oc. Cross, lewis. The c/rg spots were iffy to bad both years. Same weapons plus JSN. Hope Lucas can come back big time this year.

Almost every time we got inside the 30 it was like he got lost with his play calling he was a horrible coordinator and good luck Chicago with that lame

I’m not trying to make geno excuses here, but if your oline loses quickly and Waldron isn’t getting the 1st read open quickly what is he going to do? I felt that the passing offense failed to use motion/ alignment to get free releases and get guys open quickly. The way Waldron attacked zone defense is another sore topic to discuss another time. Things Mcvay does like run multiple receivers through a zone to draw defenders out or high/ low and isolate defenders. Too static and evenly spread. Hopefully grubb has a better plan and he’s playing against a modern defense (sorry Pete) every practice too. Lots of hope here for the season. 😅

if we clean up our red zone woes & have a top defense this is easily a 12-13 win team and I stand on that

Would be cool. I don't easily see it. Our division is tricky and it's pretty hard to get to 12+ wins. Buffalo had the #3 scoring defense and #6 offense and "only," got 11 wins.
