I see that the ACLOUD guru course on Data Engineering has not been updated since Dec 2022. Should I still be pursuing it or there are some better resources that I can use for preparing?
Hi Anuj, Very nice video. im planning to prepare for this ceritication. But since im in India its not possible for me to pay USD. so can we prepare for the exam using Plural sight instead of a course guru?
Thanks for sharing the question. I understand your concern. However, I am not sure the course details in Prural Sight, and how accurate the information. Google should also have a series of free resources for preparation here: cloud.google.com/learn/certification/data-engineer
Congratulations Anuj. I just started preparing for this certification. The syllabus seems to be a bit overwhelming. You mentioned you completed it in 10 days on a cloud guru. How did you do that! Did you already have the required hands on? I am a beginner. Please reply.
First of all, thanks for watching my video. Yes, I agree the syllabus is a bit overwhelming, it is a bit wide in number of services but the exam doesn't require you to know everything in detail, therefore, I would suggest you doing the Acloud guru course, as it has a really good structure aligned with the exam . Everyone's learning speed is a bit different, for me it took 10 days as I have used these google services as a part of my work. But if you are a beginner you can take your time, and around 2 months would be a good time for preparation. So maybe you can book the exam in advance, which might help get you up to speed. Also don't forget to do the mock exam as many times you can.
Hey Anuj, Thank you for this content. I am a newbie to big data and data engineering and I am planning to do this certification. How long do you think it’s going to take for me to understand, practice and be prepared for the exam ? And how tough the prep is going to be being a beginner without any experience in data engineering ?
Hello Joshnavi, First of all thank you for watching my video. I don't think this should take more than 2 months even for a newbie. Taking more time than that kind of wears off the momentum. I would suggest booking the exam in advance and start preparing with the courses mentioned in the video.[ You can always reschedule the exam later on if required ]
Hi Anuj, i have completed free trail for 7 days....i am now trying to signup now for one month personal plus...but it is not showing Indian states...how to continue
Yes, definitely! However I would recommend checking out the official website for any changes in the course. The preparation method should remain the same for all courses
hi sir..I have started learning data science beginning with learning python and maths. when will be best time to take GCP data engineering certificate exam.
Hello Venkat, Thank you for watching my video. If you are beginning the data science track with python and maths, I would suggest to stick to it first. Data Engineering is a separate track from data science, and moreover the GCP DE certificates actually focuses more on different cloud services provided by google such as pubsub, dataflow, big query etc. I would suggest you to stick to basics first learn python, sql, pandas etc. When you get proficient with it, and if you are interested in engineering side of things, you can consider the DE certificate. Maybe 6 month - 1 year is a good time, however it will be really dependent on your progress and comfort
One crucial detail I consistently see omitted from videos like these is: what is the cost for all these GCP courses and GCP credits? How much does it cost to learn the material?
Hey thank you for the constructive feedback. Sharing the pricing details here as a table for a clear view bit.ly/3GRxuZG. Hope this helps, and let me know if you have any further questions
Hi Anuj, thanks for the video. the course that you recommended has one of the prerequisites as:' Baseline knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (particularly in storage, compute and security)'. I do not have that, what can I do?
Hello Kanchan, Thank you for the comment. If you are quite new the google cloud platform and its services, I would recommend checking the DE Learning path from google: cloud.google.com/training/data-engineering-and-analytics#data-engineer-learning-path. Hope this helps
Hi Anuj, thanks for the insightful video, What would you suggest to a non tech beginner to learn AWS, GCP OR AZURE, Does it really make a significant difference when it comes to landing a DE job❤
Hey somehow I missed this comment. First of all thank you for watching my video! As a non tech beginner you can learn any of the above cloud providers. You can also take a decision based on market share of each. AWS is the leader and Azure is catching up, nonetheless Google Cloud has great offerings around Data Engineering and Data Science. As a first step I would suggest, start from the basics of software and data. The best place would be knowledge around databases especially structured databases and SQL. From my extensive industry experience, any data problem requires you to look into databases, and most of the databases/warehouses support SQL. After that you can learn coding language Python and then specific cloud services around data engineering. Starting off stick to one cloud provider, and eventually you can work with others after you get more comfortable Hope this helps!
@@AnujSyal Thank you so much for putting in this much effort and in depth to help me out, very much appreciated, 🙏😇☀️, more power to you and your channel 💪😊
Hello Anuj, I've just failed the exam last week trying to study with coursera and ExamTopics, but I realize that they don't give all the info that I need, like the minimal bandwidth that Transfer Apliance need to be implemented. The Guru Course have this kind of specifications? On Coursera I haven't seen a section of Hadoob environement. Thank you for the video and notes, you're awesome.
Hello Mpinto, Sorry to hear, exams like these can sometimes be tricky. You won't be able to find direct answers to questions like "the minimal bandwidth that Transfer Appliance needs to be implemented" in the tutorial of Cloud Guru, instead, the mock exam had questions like these. Doing the mock paper should help you, I did these three again and again: 1) Exam Topics 2) Cloud Guru 3) Coursera's last course for preparation of exam. If you haven't done the Cloud guru course, I would highly recommend doing it, you should be able to complete it within 7-10 days, as it has quite a bit of hints and Q&A. Hope this helps!
Hey Anuj. Thanks for this very informative video. I am a beginner looking into data engineering as a career. How far do you think this certification would increase my chances of getting a job as a fresher?
Thanks for your comment. You can treat this certification in the `good to have` category. This would be good to land an interview (Certification shows that you have gone through the trouble of learning these services), but you cannot entirely rely on this to clear a job. You would need to showcase that you can be a well-round data engineer. This includes testing your knowledge on ds/algo, SQL, open-source big data technologies like spark, hadoop, a language like python. You will be also tested on your knowledge on Cloud, that's where you can showcase the GCP services you learned while preparing for the certification. Hope this helps, let me know if you have more questions.

Hi Anuj, very informative video! A quick question for you, are there any code based questions or only theoretical concept based questions asked in exam?
From what I remember, there will be no questions that requires you to code. However, there will be questions on a code block, basically asking the intention of that code snippet. In my experience the questions were mostly theoretical, even the coding ones were testing some knowledge around cloud services. Hope this helps!
