Hi, great video as always! I love your concept about finger drumming, amazing and really cool! I hope the guys at AKAI see this video and fix all the issues you mention. Thank you, you are one of the youtubers I enjoy the most!! 🙏🏼😊
With regard to the odd pad layouts in this expansion; Before getting into machines/synths, etc., I was a drummer. Every once in a while you see a drummer who has his kit arranged in some completely eccentric way that would be impossible for most drummers to deal with. Most drummers (and when I say most, I mean like... 98 percent) play with a fairly standardized layout, because we were taught on a kit like that. We make small changes and tweak it, but it's basically pretty much the same. Now and then, though, there's this guy who will have his floor tom sitting in front of his snare, tilted away from him, with his hi-hat off to right or some crazy layout like that. My theory is that the creator of this expansion might have an unorthodox style that dictates a different pad arrangement. Perhaps he allowed the sounds and his style to dictate the pad arrangements. FWIW, I think Pink Buddha is right, and he should have just gone with a more standard pad scheme, but you know... artists are selfish.
Good point on all of that. I just feel like someone at Akai should have helped him edit that and be like....ok dude, awesome that this works for you, but since *most* people are going to play it in this layout, let's just rearrange these pads for the expansion. For your own rig, do whatever you want, but lets format it in a way that is more familiar for the people buying it.
Hey Pink Buddha, I just found out about your video 4 days late( I didn't get a notication)... But worth the wait, love your Pros and cons of the pack, you gave me ideas again... Thanks for the great review !!!

@@pinkbuddha_samplepackreviews Did you check out that "Sound Icon" on the Force yet... I find it the best way to preview Program types , and the Plugins !!! P.S. Now I've got to watch This video again to check out the choke groups you changed again (Cause you know I bought PAD Thai 3 as soon as I was finish watching it the first time !!!) 😁😃😀 Thanks again, I would of never thought of that Idea !!!
This is an extremely dope pack. Marco Polo designs his packs for the true drum programmers in mind and not for finger drummers that's why you find the placements weird. Many of us hardcore MPC users totally understand this. Also, when he designs his packs he uses and older MPC like the 2000 or 3000 then converts them to the new format. Also the MPC Studio lacks in many features you won't find on the One, X, Key 61 and Live.
Lol...I'm not what you mean by "true drum programmers.". And actually, after watching him finger drum, I think the placement is about the way he likes to finger drum. To put in more fills. And i also don't get your point about using an older MPC. We're still taking about 16 pads with any MPC. No matter the age. The location of a share isn't going to just move to a new location with a newer model.
I believe, someone made the Kits and used them with a MIDI-Keyboard ... they probably did not use the pads to play them. Only 2 times, I tried factory kits on my MPC2500. The developers of the kits used only he 16 Pads for Bank A, Bank B, C etc were empty, - why? I mostly put samples into pad-bank B and sometimes into C too. That way I could use same sounds for fundamental pads like Kick, Snare etc. and switch over to over loops in another pad-bank....
I don't have a MPC but just got my SmplTrek and need cool samples so I just subbed. You make coming up with beats on the fly look pretty easy. I hoping my finger drumming gets there one day.
Not a silly question. Yes and no. They won't open on the Maschine like this. But you do get the samples. There's a way to convert machine to mpc, but not the other way around.
@@pinkbuddha_samplepackreviews thank you yeah I found a playlist with MPC from title subject playlist but there was other stuff mixed in so very cool thank you. well done, these videos are well done. PS your finger drumming skills are pretty intense man, You make that thing come to life
I'm playing straight from what's in the expansion. As is. Well, except in adding some compression and limiting in the video. So that I can get it to a good volume. But I'm mixing that as transparent as possible.
Hmmm...I never have really thought to compare them that closely. Sometimes native investments refuses samples in multiple kits in an expansion. So that might even things out a little.

It was good . Some interesting sounds. Sounds like the same kicks from his other kits but I would get for the other sounds.

Good sounds in there. This is a good pack. Also nice playing.
🍟🍟🍟 thanks!
I watched Marco Polo make beats a few times, he likes using ghost kicks and snares on different pads that might explain the odd layout
Ah....interesting!
It’s got a vibe but not at $49.99 see you in the next Sale Pad Thai! 😂
🤣🤣✌️
Good breakdown. Unfortunately I left the MPC Software last year and went to FL because of similar issues.
Ah...well, you could also use the samples. Just drag/drop into FL
You‘re Great ❤❤❤

Silly beginner question, but can you use these packs on maschine?
Not a silly question. Yes and no. They won't open on the Maschine like this. But you do get the samples.
There's a way to convert machine to mpc, but not the other way around.
Can you make a playlist that is Only MPC? The current mp3 list has all kinds of machine junk mixed in there.
Already have that! MPC Expansions (Reviews)

sounds good but when you're confused like that just listen to the demo for the drum kit. Marco Polo made them to all fit together.
Lol...but just because he makes them for together in a track doesn't mean I'll find them playable.
I got the pack an hour ago it fire 🔥
Glad you like it!
It's original sound or you use some mixing stuff?
I'm playing straight from what's in the expansion. As is.
Well, except in adding some compression and limiting in the video. So that I can get it to a good volume. But I'm mixing that as transparent as possible.
@@pinkbuddha_samplepackreviews Thanks!
What kinda equalizer is that running in the back?
You mean in the image?
Had to remove mute groups too. That’s not how I build and use kits.
Ugh...yeah. It makes sense for open and closed hihat. Or like in chords broken out over pads. But really never for kicks or snares
nice
👊
🍟
Where to buy the sounds can I use them for mpc one
Yes! On Akai's website
I have Thai 2 and a lot of the kits have the same sounds. Sounds like this does too. Rio off for $50
Glad I could help clarify that for you
Been a while
I know - this one got delayed a few weeks. Was supposed to be out mid Nov. So i've been sitting on this video for a bit, to release it.
Ave McCree
Lol....why did you mention him?
Bro pb smokes ave
🤣✌️
Why NI give you more kits than Akai
Hmmm...I never have really thought to compare them that closely. Sometimes native investments refuses samples in multiple kits in an expansion. So that might even things out a little.
His layout is always different
You're referring to the other Pad Thai series?
@@pinkbuddha_samplepackreviews yes
I take it that expansions like these are rendered useless when used in older mpc models 🤔
Define what you mean by "older?"
@@pinkbuddha_samplepackreviews legacy MpCs: 2000xl 3000 4000 2500 etc.
You know...that's a good question. I don't an old one to test
Whybcome NI expansions have a higher quality and you get more for less
Compared to what....? Mpc expansions?
Its obviously not your thang bro.
🤣🤣🤣 is it that obvious...??
In all seriousness...the pad Thai series have been some of my favorite ones. But I was not a fan of the wacky layouts on this one.
I wonder how much akai pays you for promoting those packs
Lol...nothing! But I do get a free one to review.
@@pinkbuddha_samplepackreviews nice! Thx for answering, so proud of you then
