      @@abbieamavi it was easier than I expected! The managers were highly nice and made a comfortable space for all of us to talk. An hour later after the interview, I got the job!

    Also in the group interview after you get the outfit the manager will ask you things, the manager is gonna play the roll of a client and you're the employee. You have to convince the "client" aka manager to buy the outfit and if the outfit you pick is "good for the season" and if it has "a % discount" "how much is the discout %" and stuff like that.
    (Sorry about my grammar I'm spanish)

      hehe same, I do miss it actually, I don't mind working with clothes and people I actually do like it. What is your position, cashier, or do you mainly do salesfloor..? :)

    • @oliviafrommars
      @oliviafrommars 8 років тому +2

      I'm mainly on the salesfloor. The store I work at is high-volume so we are always busy.

      Olivia From Mars
      same here!! The one I used to work at was almost always busy!! It did get a bit frustrating when the fitting room bins were ever empty, felt like an endless cycle sorta /:
      how long have you worked there? And what's your favorite section? (mine was babies & mens bc lower traffic kinda and easier cleaning ahha + baby clothes were cute!)

    • @oliviafrommars
      @oliviafrommars 8 років тому +1

      I've worked since November I think? And my favorite section is definitely girls + the manager that's in charge of girls merchandising is my fave lol

    • @abbieamavi
      @abbieamavi  8 років тому +1

      That's so cool!! I hope your managers realize your talents and base you where you're best at, mine did sometimes but sometimes they had us all in the departments we hated most so everything was just insane haha, but at least it was NEVER boring!! (:

    Hi!
    So i wanted to find out if what one wears really matters. I want to know what exactly to wear.
    Thank

    • @abbieamavi
      @abbieamavi  7 років тому +1

      it does matter, but so does personality. Be open and friendly, that's a big one for any retail job. Just wear what you feel comfortable in + look fashionable. Try not to wear tank top, shorts shorts, flip flops ---> these are not in dress code if you work there, so don';t wear them to the interview. A girl who wore shorts and tank top was one of whom didn't get hired, it could have been other reasons too of course, but still they like when you dress appropriately. If you dress similar to a school dress code it'll be good (think sleeves, fingertip shorts, no flip flops and that's basically it)

    My interview for old navy was nothing like this lol my manager was an older woman who talked about the company for the whole hour lol. I got hired and have been working there for like 5 months and I'm like two weeks I'm going to transfer to a different location lol I love the company! Also the discount is EVERYTHING!!! It's fun to hear other people's experience tho

    • @abbieamavi
      @abbieamavi  6 років тому +3

      it should be pretty quick, but Old Navy they're also always super busy (the managers) so it could be 3 days to 1 week. You should ask at the end of every interview "how long should I wait to hear back?" but if you forgot, just call them in about 3 days if you don;t hear from them by then

    hey! so i just went to their open interview & it started at like 11am & i got there at 11:30. ( i looked on her list and i was literally the first one) so we did a walk & talk interview also she asked me how far i lived from old navy & my availability and all. then she said “once you start working don’t be complaining about the hours” also she told me how payment is and the old navy discount THEN she said on monday she’s going to give me a call after she does my background check and she said she’ll give me a time to come to orientation on thursday, so does that basically mean i got it? or?

    • @abbieamavi
      @abbieamavi  6 років тому +6

      yes you basically have it as far as I think.
      Don't hold me to it because hey they could flake on you, but from the sound of it they have decided to hire you, congrats!
      That "dont complain about hours" thing sounds dumb though, I would dip now but hey if you need the money you need hours.
      Just know that yeah they have almost no respect for balance at the Navy, it's very...well yeah.

    Hi, I just had my first interview weeks ago and this week I'll have the second one and I'm nervous I mean, I don't know what they'll ask me because I heard they can ask things like my greatest weakness and things like that and I don't know what to say because I'd never had an interview with that kind of questions.. Your video really helped me.. Good job😄

    • @abbieamavi
      @abbieamavi  8 років тому

      I am so glad it helped you!!! xx
      Well by the 2nd one, you really shouldn't be too nervous, bc it means they liked u enough to give u a 2nd interview, which means u are much closer to getting hired then most!
      For the greatest weakness, they actually never asked me that. Or if they did, it was easy & I don't remember.
      Say something that is true, but not a big deal. For example: "oh sometimes I forget names but I have been using a technique lately to help me remember and I no longer forget them as much!" you know? Like say something that is not a big deal at all, just be sure not to say something like "I'm really lazy" or "I hate people" or "I hate folding clothes" or "I am always 1 hour late to everything".
      Basically answer with a *small weakness that will not affect your job in retail very much (;
      Mostly, the 2nd interview (at least in my experience) was my availability, if I had any trips coming up (I did I had fam camping trip for 1 week & she was perfectly ok with it) also she gave me compliments on how nicely dressed I was (I wore a casual chambray dress with white shoes) & told me a little about my work hours, schedule, sections, people's different roles etc. The thing was 20 mins long & I already knew at that point that she wanted to hire me, so when she stuck out her hand & offered me to "join their team" I already knew it was coming. RELAX, & SMILE, & research some interviews on glassdoor, you'll do great!! ((:

      let me know how it goes!! xx

      Thanks you sooo much it'll help me a lot.. and also thanks for the link :)!!!
      I hope they really liked me enough.. I asked you because I've been watching videos about what they ask and people say things like scenarios questions i mean that's okay but also talked about weakness! I hope they won't ask me that lol.. The only weird thing to me is that when they called me for the 2nd interview he made me kind of a "2nd phone interview" did it happen to someone u know? And thanks again..
