It is sad that they are all gone now, I wished I was there in the audience.
My discovery of WML on UA-cam has brought me hours of pleasure, peace, and calm. ❤
As Joe Gillis says to Betty Schafer in "Sunset Blvd": "Life can be beautiful !"
It was a simpler time with more civility, respect and good-natured camaraderie than we see in today’s divided world. Every Sunday night we were able to gather around the television and watch people who became like friends over the years. How wonderful and priceless these time capsules have become. Goodnight Arlene, Dorothy, Bennett, Fred and John Charles Daly. I miss you all.
When I first started watching WML a couple of months ago, my first ever introduction to the show, the episodes I watched had Steve Allen as a panelist, so I’d like to add “goodnight, Steve”
There were a number of semi-regular guest panelists like Steve but let’s also remember his wife Jayne Meadows and Arlene Francis’ husband Martin Gabel. Both continued in the tradition of the show featuring intelligent panel members who were actually quite good at asking questions that led to the players’ professions. For a really interesting segment, watch the show where the panel was blindfolded because the guests were their spouses! What a night that was!
James Lileks said of them, "they are so damned _civilized_ it makes me weep." ("The Bleat", 4/30/19)
Much better programme than any on today. Debbie Reynolds was hilarious.
I never realized she had such a sense of humor.
Debbie was so funny and those accents she switched to so readily were so spot on. Such beauty and talent. Miss her so much RIP beautiful Debbie
Man, that Rossalyn Russell bit was HYSTERICAL!
Are you referring to Rosalind Russell ?
Daly’s bird wings when he cracks his first joke and Arlene’s courtesy smile slayed. I can’t think of any modern person on tv with such a luminous, contagious smile. Beautiful and adorable!
Lovely video and the end ❤️💔
ugh the ending made me cry so much
The ending made me reflect on my life. It is true we are really just dust in the wind. Life's great and live each day to its fullest!
Well said, "Live each day and enjoy it."
So wonderful to see them all and laughing.
Genuine people of time gone by. They're time and humanity is sorely missed.
I love this show. I grew up watching it. I wish they had reruns on TV., Thanks, UA-cam, for providing this great entertainment.
Depends on what cable company you have but it’s aired on the game show network check your cable listings good luck!
So sad to think these wonderful people are all passed from this earth.
My thoughts exactly😢
I hope to meet them all one day. 😉
They all lived their lives to the fullest in their time...
They were the best panelists of any game show. Unfortunately, they are all gone including practically all the special celebrity guests that were on that show.
And the blessing is that we have the treasure trove of all those Sunday evenings to watch again, or the joy to see some for the first time. That is reason to celebrate!
It is amazing to me how much of what brought laughter would create a very different reaction today.
It was much better times then
@@Heres_Johnny. Not so "better" for people of color.
This was all a lifetime ago; a life I wasn’t yet apart of. I was only a 1 year old when Arlene Francis, the last member of this team, died. I only found this show on UA-cam last month when Sean Connery had passed, he was once a feature on this program.
Even though it’s only been a few weeks of watching this show, I already feel as though I’ve grown up watching this. They are all sharing great times together, collaborating, and smiling.
It has been awhile since we’ve seen anything human. We’ve been in lockdown for a better part of a year now. All we see in our day-to-day is arguing over Politics and things that do not share quantities like this show did.
If this was what the 60’s was, even at its best, take me back. This sense of unwitnessed-nostalgia has me almost, in a way, depressed.
Then you are in for a real treat, Tyler. There are several scores of shows available on UA-cam. Happy watching !
It does seem to be timeless
This original version of the show lasted seventeen years in primetime on CBS, mainly on Sunday nights. This was the first big hit for producers Mark Goodson and Bill Todman, and they would go on to have a number of successful game shows over the next few decades following this.
It's from the era when America was free.
The entire run of the show, as aired on CBS and hosted by John Charles Daly, aired from 1950-1967, then the syndicated version was hosted by Wally Bruner from 1968-72, then by Larry Blyden from 1972-75, meaning that the show ran for a total of 25 years. I came across the show on BUZZR 2 or 3 years ago and have loved the show ever since.
Thank you so very much, what a fantastic compilation. The song at the end is so touching, and so very appropriate. God bless!
Beautiful ending to this video. Thank you so much.
Truly the greatest Game Show EVER.🎯💯❗BOTH panel and guests.
This is an exceptional compilation. The music towards the end was emotional. Thank you.
Yes, who sang that song?
@@la142323 the song is “Forever Young,” and I believe the artist is Becky Hill. What a perfect fit for this tremendous compilation.
Open the description and look on the bottom. It shows there.
Yes; agreed. I had never heard that song before.
I love to see John Daly crack up. 😊❤😮😊
So much class. And they dressed nice!
The Ottawa mayor is hilarious!
What did she say when asked if it was "Miss or Mrs."?
@@michellefricke7942 "Miss. I've made enough mistakes".
@@bluebear1985 And never married. Before she became Mayor she lived many years in partnership with another woman. The nature of the relationship has been the subject of much debate.
She is great.
You really know how to tease a person. Every ten seconds I found myself wishing I could see the next scene of the original program.
Oh my GOD Debbie Reynolds was so adorable!
Dorothy: Well, I can feel liquid too!
Arlene: I'll say!
hahahahahha
This is so profoundly appreciated. Thank you!
I discovered this programme in reruns and love it. It reminds me of the modern British panel shows. “Would I Lie to You” and Qi (Quite Interesting) are fun.
THEY FEEL LIKE FRIENDS.
They were! Matter of fact, Arlene and Bennett even lived near each other and their kids were friends.
No wonder when I was a little girl in my bedroom that I shared with my younger sister I used to hear my mother and father laugh their heads off at this wonderful program.
Why did you make the ending like you did?
Although i knew most of it already, i couldnt stop smiling the whole time.
Now i feel like crying.
Wonderful compilation nonetheless.
Thank you.
Good to know I’m not the only one who felt like crying at the end
@@musiknutz
I did cry, and I’m not embarrassed about that. Lovely compilation, perfect ending. The song is perfectly fitting.
I cried as well. I'm 65 now and glad I made it this long. Beautiful song. I remember this show on Sunday nights.@@mynamedoesntmatter8652
Very enjoyable!! A quality program.
Buy Arlene’s book about charm, it is truly wonderful and ahead of its time (1960). She was a very hip, fun and even raunchy lady.
I did not know about this book. Thanks.
@contardi was arlene francis ever known to have affairs like ;dorothy kilgallen was
Thank you for the sweet tune in the background. I had never heard it before. ❤️
Great job on this. The ending beautiful.
That music at the end was getting on my nerves until I realized what it was and then it brought a tear to my eye. Lovely! ;)
I love these people 💜👌⭐
Arlene and Dorothy were both so adorable.
Me too. I love Arlene Francis and wish I had been born in that era to see her on Broadway.
Both very classy and intelligent ladies.
Oh you really got me with the song at the end.
A compilation made, obviously, with a lot of respect and love. Thank you!
That laugh from John at 2:38 - 😂!!
Arlene is such a troublemaker hahaha! I love how bold and brash she is with her quips no matter how lewd they may be
She was ahead of her time lmao
@@candicehoneycutt4318i was just gonna say she would slay today
Debbie Reynolds was adorable - and a hoot in this episode!
Beautiful ending. Thank you. ❤
Hehe, she had one cocktail too many at 15:00.
Wish society was so pleasant today
Loved this show. Fred Allen was one of my favorites. May they all rest in peace.
The closing music you chose, "Forever Young" sung by Lily Kershaw is quite moving. Although this song is a cover, she's an AMAZING song writer and a wonderfully emotional singer.
Love the song at the end.
I loved the song too although it made me think about how fast life passes.
I loved this show as a young teen, and I appreciate it even more now...RIP dear panel and honorable "moderator"...
That was nice! Thank you! RWB ❤
Great editing. Thanks for the video.
Just love Arlene!!
You forget The Greatest What’s My Line? moment EVER: Arlene Francis asking the question of that night’s mystery guest: “Do you have blonde curly hair?”
Who was it?

@@nsnopper I thought YB had hair but shaved it off for TKAI and kept a bald head after that.
I love these people and this show. Especially Arlene...
The Mayor of Ottawa killed me as soon as she opened her mouth, what a delightful lady !!! 🤣😆😂
This is still so funny! I love this show.
Debbie Reynolds at 12:49? Her Gabor impression is impeccable.
She was fabulous! And so good looking
Yes sooooooo sad - such personalities makes one sad dwelling on their passing …….. no one like them these days
Who else thinks the jail warden looks like Nikita Khrushchev?
Me.
When he came out the crowd screamed. It was funny as all getout.
For sure!
I thought so too
Debbie Reynolds was beautiful inside and out. Shame on Eddie Fisher for leaving her & causing such embarassment.
10 Elizabeth Taylors couldn't equal one Eva Gabor (or was that Zsa Zsa? ;-))
A wonderful video. Thank you
I've never seen Debbie Reynolds so Beautiful!!
She was no Marie Dressler (hubba hubba!) but Debbie was indeed quite fetching !
When i watch this it makes me sad to think all the people on there are no longer with us, it makes you stop and think that people you love will no longer be on this earth in a few years, make the most of life you only get one change at it, tell the people who you love what they mean to you. I would of loved to have met John Daly but that is never going to happen so i will just have to watch him on you tube and have him make me laugh and cry and be in my heart forever
21:50 is so cool; a Jamaican tribute to the show!
THE VOICE OF THE GREAT WALLY COX!
I adore Wally Cox! I love Mr.Peepers.
@@teresahooks3746 Wally Cox was the man !!
With his comment during the Jail Warden guest segment, John Daly really got Groucho that time!
too bad Arlene got type cast as a quiz show star....her career should have been much more glamorous......absolutely beautiful lady & great comedy timing...
She did so much more. Movies, plays, filling in on news programs....
@@sandrageorge3488 true...but she never became the real hollywood type star that she could have been.....
@@martynelson2666 maybe that's not what she wanted. she seems very happy in her career
@@FeggyMin Well said and well put !
i like the musical ending
Dorothy Kilgallen: "I wish I were here. It sounds like fun!"
Cute What's My Line song 😊😊
I think that's Art Linkletter at 4:27 sounds crazy but he reminds me of Johnny Depp.
Me thinks a few cocktails had been had on occasion, much to our delight.
Huggy Bear says that "word on the street" is that the favorite adult beverage backstage was vodka mixed with milk of magnesia. That's known as a "Phillips Screwdriver".
What episode was one with mr. Richie? And the one with Davy Crockett hats?
Debbie Reynolds was really funny in this episode.
Who sings that song at the end? Beautiful and emotional! (forever young is the song?)
Perhaps Becky Hill.
Lily Kershaw
15:01 seems like she has had a bit too much to drink.
so funny to see arlene lose a bit of her composure. shows how truly fun and hilarious she is
Whoa... you’re right.
That was hilarious! "Bing bing bing!" Imagine what she must have been like at parties away from the cameras. 😁
Sorry, but I love how her panel mates are giggling.
Pain medication I think from an accident she had.
Wow, that cough from Arlene and the way Bob Lewis holds back from laughing REALLY says a lot about Dorothy's marriage to Dick... People close to Dorothy knew it was falling apart due to both of their infidelities.
His first
Wow, it's not about pointing fingers at all. It's about how a "funny moment" was actually a kind of sad moment.

I 💖 show 💯
This was a very adult show, very entertaining.
6:36 - I heard pickpocket!
Kick her out
John daily just a classy host
At 22:56 background music begins, gradually gets louder, and virtually drowns out the dialogue.
It was a touching way of making the point that as time passes we are left with images and impressions rather than specifics. I thought the music was managed perfectly.
I thought there was something wrong with the video
I wish a movie were made about Dorothy. She had such an interesting life and mysterious death.
12:40 can someone explain Arlene's joke to me 😅 i think i get it but im not sure lol..
I was about 9 when Dorothy died. It was devastating to me
Ah, forever young.
Totally classy people!
16:27 drunk Arlene
What episode is it? 13:42
Who was the lady who imitated Eva Gabor
Debbie Reynolds

Debbie Reynolds was hilarious.
you’re like a real youruber
There’s a reason Groucho was only invited on the panel once.
His style of comedy hijinks didn’t fit with the style of the show.
Couldn't stand that Groucho was always "on", always trying to be funny!
Am I the only one who didn’t find Groucho Marx funny? I loved his brothers Harpo and Chico, but there’s something about him that I found annoying - at least as a panelist on this show.
I didn't like how Groucho was always "on" & turned everything into a joke. Jerry Lewis did the same thing when he was on the panel.
I think everybody thiught that guy looked like Nikita
Now give us a little dance.
Dorothy was a cutie
Lucy wasn’t a good actress in movies but she was great on her show.
Lucy gave good performances in many of her films, such as "Lured", "The Big Street" & "The Dark Corner".
A shame that Desi was such a carouser.
And all this time I thought he was a Cuban.....
Very nice compilation...but why that annoying music at 22:56 which just grows in annoying intensity until, like a killer tsunami, it wipes out all traces of humanity?
I did that. Deal with it.
Hey xjAlbert!
🖕👁️👃👁️🖕
👄
I think I’m the only one who didn’t find Groucho Marx to be funny. I liked his brother Chico and Harpo, but Groucho was way too distracting in this game and not that funny IMO.
So true! Groucho was always "on" and almost never serious. Always trying to be funny & making a joke out of everything. Quite irritating.
what's with the ridiculous music at the end? Let the footage speak for itself lol
It went completely over your head, we see.
Stupid maudlin song at the end of this otherwise fun video
Back when people knew what a woman was.
