On Facebook in 2020, her 1943 Takin' A Chance hit 9 million views and is shared across social media with the hashtag #BlackGirlMagic. She was a jazz pianist and singer and made history as the first African-American woman to host her TV show in 1950. Also, she was a wonderfully talented pianist, but the industry blacklisted her and her name was all erased from the history books. It's Hazel Scott.
