You made this look so easy! Hopefully I just purchased the correct battery and it will work. I just found my old iPod and when it’s plugged in, I can still hear music with my headphones. But I don’t think it’s charging. Hopefully I can change it with your instructions! Thank you so much! I notice this video is 14 years old so hopefully it’s still the same in the right battery. Hi! I've tried replacing the old battery 2x's and each time the battery charges a little but doesn't hold much. Then when I leave it it for a while to charge it doesn't hold any charge at all. Could there be something wrong with the batteries I'm buying? What reliable battery would you recommend? I used to be able to run the unit plugged in even of the battery was not fully charged but it doesn't do that now.
I could be the battery isn't fully seated, the main board could be going bad, or it could just be a bad stroke of luck. Don't give up, keep trying and make sure to check those connections.
