What a spectacular adventure challenging both mind and body. I loved the commentary. It made me feel like I was experiencing it personally. Great work, Jim.
Fabulous video Jim, and I especially appreciated the enthusiasm after spotting that brookie on the way down. Your trip summary at the end speaks volumes regarding the way you approach time in the wilderness, always prepared to remain personally comfortable and helpful to others as needed. Bravo.
The cables are there because that section is covered with ice and snow almost year round, as it gets little direct sunlight. Sometimes ice is packed thick against the wall forcing hikers to tread very close to the edge. We were fortunate to have such great weather this day. Glad we all made it up and back safely!
I enjoy your fishing vids. I am glad I saw this. You all had amazing weather . I can’t really backpack anymore I started back in the 60’s as a boy scout. We bagged Goronio and Jacinto, but I never did Mt Whitney. Won’t do it so thanks for the awesome video. It made me feel like I was there with you. Thanks . I watch Wilderness with Armani you two have inspired to hit some of the eastern sierra lakes that aren’t too far in.
It's so weird seeing myself in Jim Lowe video lol. That was fast. It'll be a while until I'm done editing. It was great meeting you. It's too bad we couldn't hang out more and do some fishing. Glad the belt fit. I didn't realize you left it on the mirror until I moved my car 😆 It's actually pretty cool you were able to break away from the group and go at your own pace. There were at times I wanted to go faster or slower. Or just go at my own pace with refueling and filming. I'd probably get lost without the group though lol. It was cool hanging out and seeing the spot where they found the group they saved the year before. Overall it was an amazing experience and I was thinking we were really lucky to have perfect weather. With how long it is, it seemed like it's easy to make a mistake. Especially on the back side. I waited waaay too long to use the wag bag. I didn't use it until I found a nice private spot between Trail Camp and Outpost Camp on the way down. We'll swap stories soon.
@@rodoutdoors Haha! Yeah, wish we could have gotten a picture of the 3 or us and I definitely missed out not hearing the tales of the rescue on the way up. Filming does take a lot of time sometimes. I'm looking forward to see your and Mike's renditions. Sounds like Mike has something special planned for his. Great meeting you! Thanks again for the belt!
@@zzww9483 Yeah, next time. I didn't want to carry more than I needed. Also, I was in a bit of a time crunch. Wanted to be home and get enough sleep to run the next morning.

Ah. That explains it. Thanks! Yep. We had a great day!
@@highcountrychronicles I certainly would not want to rely on those cables to keep me from falling! Not exactly an OSHA approved railing haha.
Way to rock it Jim!
Thanks!

Cool! Glad to hear it. There's always something out there for us at every age and ability!
Jim, you're nuts. Mega kudos.
Haha. Thanks!
When you get back to the Portal, go to the store and try their pancake breakfast. They're epic.
Thanks for the tip! Next time!
Good stuff my friend! Leaving a sub. Love the sights and the channels vibe!
