I wanted a non-glass case but they didn't have white in stock, so I have a glass case now. You should still manage the cables though for better airflow purposes.
I come from the early 2000 gamers era. "Rat's nest" cable management was kind of a norm. We just leave it a mess hidden in the back compartment as long as it doesn't affect the PC case airflow.
My friend once bragged that his back panel cable managment was so much better than mine, i said "you will regret that when you need to do something there"
He wont. Not having to dig trough all your cables is invaluable, and you can always take them out (unless you decided that zip ties make a good cable management).
@@alexturnbackthearmy1907bro, my PC looks like a rats nest in the back. You don't have to "dig" for anything. Just follow the cable from the slot it's running through into the back. Boom...you've found it 😂 There shouldn't be that much hooked into your PSU anyway. Mobo cable, 1 or 2 PCIE cables depending on graphics card model, CPU, maybe a SATA cable or two. For fan cables, buy a decent cheap fan controller on Amazon. Run all your fan cables to it. You're done. Or buy a case like the Montech King 95 that has a built in fan controller (pro model) and Velcro straps for your cables to run through lol. I made the mistake of making my cables neat in the back before testing my PSU when I built mine. Dead PSU. Had to rip it apart. Got a second PSU. I figured what are the odds this one is dead too. Made everything neat in the back. The second PSU received from an RMA was also dead. Ripped it apart again. Third PSU worked. I didn't make anything neat and don't even care lol. If something screws up, you will know what is what based on where it is plugged into your PSU.
Much easier to fix something when the cables aren't tangled and are easy to trace. Cable management isn't just about looking nice it's about organizing the wires in a logical manner.
Can I close my backpanel? If yes, then the cables are managed well enough 😂 If not, try to push the panel a little harder and if it still doesnt want to close: time to manage the cables better!
Not so much anymore, but when you had all those drives to plug in and upgrade over the years it made it a huge pain to have a system cable managed in the back. You have to undo the whole thing to plug in a sata drive. That's why I avoid zip ties when I can.
The only cable management I do at the back is making sure every cable is easily accessible / swapable. Makes working on the system MUCH easier. Doesn't look pretty all the time, but is very practical
I just built my first PC using Lian Li O11 dynamic and I have to say as far as cable management. It was very straightforward and simple to run cables where you want them!
Also, cable managment isn't a big a deal when all the heat sources are water cooled so airflow is lower on the priority list to make way for higher spec components
I've been buying used parts for years and never had any major problems. It's important to sus out the sellers, do some small talk etc. for a vibe check. With experience it's pretty easy to gauge when someone is trying to rip you off. Either way, with the amount you can save on things like GPU used, you could buy 2 and still spend less than buying it new. I scored a brand new EVGA 3070 while back for $270
Good practice is go new on motherboard, PSU, and storage as those are where most failures happen. Used CPU, GPU, RAM as long as there's no physical damage and the seller isn't blatantly trying to rip you off they'll be fine 99/100.
Problem is that most of the newer cases now has either glass or see-through back panel. Especially those cases that supports BTF/Project Zero. All cables goes on the back, covered by an see-through mesh panel.
@@ronaldmcdonaldssoul I agree with Marius. First of all, these dual chamber cases are incredibly big, over 60L at least! Besides, whenever you need to change a cable or part it is much easier to find with proper cable management. And the last thing is that loose cables can be quite dangerous, if it gets into a fan or touches loose or conductive parts it can become a much bigger problem!
Honestly one my favorite parts is the cable management, as it makes a big difference in the quality look and feel of the build, and you could use this to be creative
One thing that always helps me is connecting everything to my PSU last. That way I can organize the cables neatly and deal with the slack before I connect. Makes cable management easy!
i have a Lian Li 011 Air Mini. I actually went from a RM850X PSU to a SF850L so I would have more room in the back for cable management. What i mean by cable management is stuffing the cables in the smallest place i can get them. It actually worked awesome with atleast half of the space in the back of my case being empty now just because of the smaller PSU.

ALL cases should be dual chambered. MAN it's annoying trying to cram all of those cables in that tiny, centimeter space between the side of the case and the panel.
Cable management has saved me many hours over the years. I have always properly cable managed every pc I have built so that when friends come to me for an upgrade, I’m not sat there for 10 minutes at a time untangling cables just to get the one I need

I just got one of those new project-zero cases with a motherboard that has all the connections on the back so the wires are out of sight completely. Really looking forward to that build.
I always cable manage this way (for customers), the cables that are most likely gonna need replacement are in the front whereas the cables that are least likely going to need replacement are in the back, that way every build looks clean and isn't too much of a hassle if in need of servicing
I honestly started to appreciate those twisty wires with rubber cover much more than zip-ties over the years. They hold tight and you don't have to cut them every time you want to change something in cable management.
