The Guys are just having fun exchanging different beats and licks bouncing great sound off each other. Voila! A masterpiece may be born, maybe not, but it’s rock and roll in the studio. ❤rare gems!

I’m a huge Stones fans but a lot of their outtakes are throw-aways or even junk. But it doesn’t matter because they know what’s good enough to release.

In 1987 a friend gave me a copy of a copy of a cassette that I listened to for years. I thought the entire Trident Demo’s could have been Exile part II. In those pre-internet days I thought it was Exile-ish but it turned out to be from 1969. Man…what a band/year.

Hey Barry, you know the script behind Honky Tonk women; M and K wrote it as a Jim Reeves sort of thing, hence Country Honk. It was Taylor who saw it another way, and that's the classic we all know now....cheers

Thanks for posting. Wow, great to hear something from the Stones that I didn't even know was out there. Long time Stones fan. In fact, first 45 record I ever bought with my own money was in '65 when the Stones released "Satisfaction". I was 15 then. So much I could say, don't even know where to start, except to repeat the ultimate truth: "The Greatest Rock n Roll Band in the World". As someone else wrote, feel that the Mick Taylor era may have been their peak but don't believe it was necessarily because Mick Taylor was in the band. I would say their playing and songwriting was at its best and most consistent then, producing the Big Three: Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers and Exile on Main Street. There are albums before and after that have glimpses of their genius but those three stand above the others.

Love these rare finds! My favorites that really show their real talent!! They can cover a song and make it their own usually better than the originals or at least in my opinion! Sorry if I’ve made anyone mad!!

In the early sixties, God came down (as he tends to do on and again) and he laid down the law for what rock&roll was going to be ...... and this band was anointed the prime sample.

I'm a great MT fan - but for the groove - that they had already before him. Just listen to the first four albums - the groove is the thing they noticed, appreciated and practiced right from the beginning. As I see (hear) it - the groove is the special strength and focus of KR. What MT brought into the soup was the smooth (rough when required) and innovative melodic leads.
