Under the purview of the Inter-Agency Council for the Pasig River Urban Development (IAC-PURD), Pasig Bigyang Buhay Muli stands as the flagship venture. Envisioned by Executive Order No. 35, the IAC-PURD is committed to overseeing the comprehensive restoration of the entire 25-kilometer stretch of the Pasig River. The council, led by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and comprising 15 government entities, including MMDA, DENR, DPWH, DILG, DOT, DOTr, and NCCA, works collectively towards this ambitious goal. Renowned landscape architect and city planner Paulo Alcazaren, recognized for his work on the Iloilo Esplanade, serves as the consultant for the overall design of the river's rehabilitation project. On January 17, 2024, the Bongbong Marcos administration inaugurated its Pasig Bigyang Buhay Muli (PBBM; lit. 'Give Life to Pasig Again') project, aiming to revitalize the Pasig River through the development of linear parks, walkways, bikeways, and commercial developments.
