2Pac unleashed “Hit Em Up” featuring the Outlawz in June 1996, one of Hip Hop’s most infamous diss tracks. Aimed primarily at The Notorious B.I.G., Diddy and Bad Boy Records, the song made it clear just how much disdain ‘Pac had for his rivals at the time.

#TUPAC #BIGGIE
It was a shock to Biggie and everyone else on the east side cause PAC showed almost every rap artist out there how REAL and HARDER he could bring it and he definitely brought it. Hit ‘Em Up shocked east and west side rappers. Thug life FO REAL!!
Not. He was shocked because a guy he still considered a friend going at him over something he had nothing to do with. Listen to what she said. She said biggie was hurt. That feeling comes from someone who hurts him that he had love for. Everyone knows Biggie warned pac about them dudes who set him up but he would not listen.
Pac saw how popular biggie became when he was locked up and didn't like it and went at him. He even said when he was locked up he was watching Biggie taking his spot. And were did that get him. He got himself and biggie killed. And the world was robbed of their greatness. Hate only manifest more hate. Thats nothing to glorify at all. Its sad.
Lol Tupac was an east coast rapper on a west coast label. Grew up in east coast and Baltimore didn’t step foot in cali San Francisco Bay until 88 at 18 or 19.
Ultimately Tupac's thug life ended his life very prematurely, and possibly cost Biggie's life as well. It was not worth it.
2pac was a fake, and he wanted to act gangster and it got everyone killed.
You screaming thug life in full caps, boy grow up that's the bull that got Pac killed. Go be loud like him and hate on everyone for no reason and see how society likes it for you 😭
You couldn't just put her name Charli Baltimore in the title instead of Ex Murder Inc Rapper. You even say her name in the video too
I think the title need an edit ending with her name..

Exactly and we listen to this loser beeb loser talk over a article
They knew what they were doing when they dropped "who shot ya"
No it wasn't written with Tupac in mind. But, the timing of that release was intentional. They could've waited to release that.
It was playing in the Brooklyn streets for a while before he got shot
@@Thatguy10148 I just came here to say that
Death row records played on Tupacs paranoia. It’s no secret he was afraid for his life daily and it got worse when he got shot. Suge knew that feud was gonna sell and didn’t want Tupac to jump ship by being friends with biggie. And he was kind of mad biggie was selling records when he was locked up which Suge also played on.
Waited for how long? 1 year? Would that much time make Tupac feel it wasn't about him?
They were trying to capitalize on the speculation and figured it would sell huge given the circumstances. Problem is, Pac was in prison and recovering from those gunshots still, what the hell was he supposed to think?
Who ever decided it was a good idea to release that song 2 months after was the reason the beef escalated I’m looking at you PUFF
Fr
I think puff and SUge had the same idea. Suge hyped Tupac up knowing he was paranoid as hell and was worried biggie was about to try to take him to bad boy records. They both knew that feud was gonna sell records and it did but at the cost of both pac and biggies lives

Maaaaan Charlie Baltimore didn't even get the reason why Pac was mad at BIG right in the first place...
Pretty sure she wasn't even there when he first heard it. I ain't saying she lying but I feel like it happened differently.
It would make sense for Charli Baltimore to talk about Biggie's reaction to Hit 'Em Up since Charli is Biggie's former gf.
However, I rather hear it from Faith since she is Biggie's widow.
Charli was his side widow.
@@CraftWon Charli and Biggie were married?

@Captain Balls how would anyone know for sure ?
@Captain Balls I’m talking about your statement. Who has actually seen PAC smash faith? Name one person. I heard a lot of people that speculated that. But not any actual confirmation… I’m asking for a eye witness. Not someone that assumed. Who?
Some records just dont need videos. Pac paints pictures with his words and tells you in graphic details.

Horrible editing.

You beat me to it.
@@gregh_777 But it shouldn't be forgotten that Pac claimed sleeping with Biggie's wife only after this Quad Studios shooting as revenge!
It was written before he was shot , But if you noticed the song was edited after he was shot, So he basically hallmarked the song, I think Keith Murray was on the original version for Mary J.
Nobody mentioned that Who Shot Ya was originally a verse on a Mary J. Blidge track also featuring Keith Murray?!
The track is easy to find and people still think that it was about Pac?!
I think that's where the shit was picked up to be re-targeted. Biggie must have figured the verse was a perfect trick to get at Pac. He probably thought since it was originally written before the shooting, he could just rework it, deny it's motive and get away with it. Bingo!
@@Shaq_01 hmm maybe
It was re edited the second part of the song all my about pac.
Ugliest mc with busta he destroys Tupac and long kiss goodnight ends it
THAT WASN'T THE REASON PAC WENT AT BIGGIE....Pac went at Biggie for *many* reasons and Biggie wasn't that innocent
@@jameshamilton5947 I know he was far from innocent however he never created a beef to sell units. This was what it was all about pac jealous that his home boy blow beyond belief and gave him no credit for it.
Really pathetic actually.
Can say it was because he kept quiet about Jimmy the henchman and Haitian jack or not shouting him out in his rise.
The funniest thing about it all pac turn said biggie copied his style and his concept.
Give me peace cause somebody gives you pointers as they were in the game before doesn’t mean he copied his style.
Biggie the nicest emcee ever to grace this earth.
It may have been written before he got shot and it may not have been written about him but I can't help to think that the songs time of release was on purpose to generate a buzz.
I *still* think Puff pull all that stringz just to get The Notorious B.I.G to beef with Pac and he(The Notorious B.I.G) played himself by dropping subs at Pac til "Long Kiss Good Night"....and he even did "Long Kiss Good Night" on a radio in L.A now this is how C. Baltimore puts it?

Like seriously.. I am tired of their names mentioned. Just let them rest in peace for God sake.
@@ErnynoTV Is not like there is something happening to them when they're mentioned
I remember it being a lot deeper than the song being misconstrued as a diss, and also that it wasn't so much the song, but the timing of the performance of it which Diddy warned against fanning the already furious flames. Maybe if before the release they changed it to "Who Poppa?" or some shit, but I think even without the song, the same events would've played out.
I swear Hit Em Up was a death curse, Niggas started getting murked left and right after that tracked dropped
There was no coming back from that track. Pac basically signed his death warrant and Big's death warrant with this track. Certain things you can't say and not expect consequences.
@@PhenomResurrections08 I agree, this Track was a pen signing death warrants.
@@DougieYT Kadafi who was also on the track got killed just a few months later getting gunned down, the story behind what happened is murky at best. If I didn't know any better, I'd say Faith Evans and what was said about her is why Pac & Big are dead. Puffy did em both in. Pac for exposing the infedilities and Big for always cheating and disrespecting Faith. The fact that Puffy and Faith both went on to exploit Biggie's name so much afterward and get millions upon millions for Bad Boy records, Big was worth more dead to Puff and Faith and maybe it was partly revenge cause Biggie wanted to do his own thing and leave Bad Boy. Hit Em Up was the gasoline on and already unstable fire.

Who Shot Ya never should have been released at that time. They had to know 2PAC was gonna go crazy. It wasn't really about whether he believed Puffy and Biggie had anything to do with him being shot....it was about what the public would believe.....they had to know this. Maybe they didn't know it would go as far as it did but they had to know it would be problematic.

Pac clearly was mad after he got robbed and shot in that recording studio lobby "Hit'Em Up" would have been a better diss track if he had a response to it but having a one sided beef only shows how uninterested B.I.G. was in this so- called beef

Biggie knew why PAC was dissing him. A true friend who knew nothing about their friend being shot and robbed would’ve never put a song out like that.
