    Your Calendulas look really nice. Mine have started flowering at long last. They've been so slow this year which I'm putting down to the weather. I also like the tiny yellow Crocosmia. They're gorgeous. Not heard of the Geranium nodosum. Aren't those flowers really pretty? You have lots of my favourite plants in your garden and it's so nice to still see plenty of colour. xxx

    Lovely flowers and ideas! My garden is v colourful right now but I yearn for some fresh flowers which start in August. Your zinnias are very tempting. I like your crocosmia too. Are you into climbers, because the plants that are giving me most pleasure right now are two campsis, both purchased as C. "Indian Summer" but one is apricot orange and the other is dusky peachy dark red. They are sensational and a daily pleasure to see their flowering progress. Generally I traditionally favour orange but am finding the orange/red combo very attractive this season.

      @gladiator652004 Thank you so much for your kind words. They are very much appreciated 😊. I'm glad that you love the Zinnias and Crocosmia in our garden 😎😊. We absolutely love climbers. There is always room in a garden for climbers. I do love the traditional Calendulas with the orange also. Such cheery plants that have brought so much joy for many hundreds of years ❤️ Thank you for watching. Happy gardening 😃

    Hi there ! About calendula, I have the typical orange in the garden but it's not my colour cheme so I'm gonna see if I find less vibrant or more pink colours :)
    About Phlox, o you don't really deadhead ? I wonder how many years to finally have more than one stem 😅 And same with echinacea, I cut back flowers but for some I'm still waiting for something I love Paul's crocosmia but it seems we don't have it or a similar limoney yellow

      We would definitely recommend the 'Pink Surprise' calendula if you want something less vibrant. It's a lovely colour and grows really well. Paul finds it relaxing taking out the old flowers of the phlox and it just makes them look better (although I wouldn't have the patience!). It's not deadheading, he just removes the old petals. We leave the heads on after flowering until the spring. Our Echinaceas have been the best so far this year but we lost all of our 'White Swan' thanks to the slugs. That's a shame you can't get a similar yellow Crocosmia. It is a lovely shade of yellow.

    Can it be the variety Crocosmia x crocosmiiflora 'Meteor' you´re looking for?

    • @MadAboutGardening
      @MadAboutGardening  3 місяці тому +1

      It does look very similar, but we've never heard of that one or ever bought it. Paul used to have a written record of every plant we've ever grown but we don't have it anymore so can't work it out. We lost the label for it too when we moved house. Thanks anyway 😀
