I LOVED both Ned’s and BTR, but it still amazes me to this day how BTR made boy-bands popular again. Everyone used to laugh at boy bands and made fun of them as a dead-cliche, but as soon as this show aired, it was a literal rebirth of boy (and girl) groups. I just love how a silly Nickelodeon show literally changed the entire music industry.
I agree. Big Time Rush reinvented the modern day boy band that led to the success of one direction, the wanted , why don't we, bts even. So kudos to the kings kendall James Carlos and logan
Yeah, remember that 1D used to open for BTR. Sadly 1D grew so fast it overshadowed BTR concerts so fans would show up for 1d and leave before btr showed up.
I found it kind of healing to hear Kendall talk about his rock-bottom and how he got out of it through therapy :) as someone in their mid-20s going through some stuff, its a relief to hear that even a chill guy like kendall didnt always float through life that easily
1:06:18 "money is just money" Kendall's definition of success is just beautiful. He's so humble and a super smart guy, he deserves the best from life! Love you Devon and Kendall you were my childhood I love to see you two doing great in 2023 ❤️ keep it going
Hearing Kendall have the same depression and realizations as me makes it feel a whole lot better that entertainment ppl still struggle w depression too
I found myself tearing up a couple times throughout the video, it’s so nice to see and hear people you admire talk about such human experiences, and things that makes it seem like we’re connected and all together. Thank you for bringing these kind of interviews to life. Love you all
Devon is an amazing interviewer. He surprised me with a lot of the questions that I’ve felt were something I’ve never really thought about before. Love it!!!!
Hearing that Kendall had to go to therapy just goes to show that you definitely don't know everything that is going on in people's life. I've been going to therapy since 2021 and it has been the biggest help I've ever had. It's kept me sane throughout everything I've had to endure ❤️ and his comment of "you can go in feeling like you have nothing to talk about, something always comes up" is SOOOOOO true!! Like you could be having the best month of your life but there's always one thing, even if it's tiny, that can turn into talking about a past issue. My biggest advice for people that are against therapy: go one time. Just once. You'd be surprised how much you get out of it just that one time & want to keep returning
I'm from Argentina and a few days ago I went to the BTR concert! Absolutely amazing show and crowd! 😎🇦🇷 Glad to see you again Devon, I grew up with the Ned's TV show (and BTR of course)... And trust me buddy, YOUR POD IS A LOVE LETTER TO THE CHILDHOOD! ❤️ These crossovers are epic! 🤯🔥
Great listen! I could easily see a follow-up podcast detailing Kendall's time with Scott Fellows. Also diving more into the end of BTR, the transition to Heffron Drive, and how they were able to form back together again. Dealing with behind the scenes stuff from getting naming rights, association with Nickelodeon, etc. Also want to learn more on the music side of things with how their approach to their new music has been and how it differs from their previous sound.
Oeeh I like this comment! Interested in the same aspects :) I've always been curious why Kendall and Dustin changed their plans from doing a second HD album. - are you on the BTR app btw? there's great personal behind the scenes content there
THIS is what I’m really interested in because it’s the other half of the equation concerning Nickelodeon and Sony and that I’ve been really curious about.
Wow, it’s insane to see how people grow up and where they find themselves in life, really goes to show that the number one thing about growing up is that those expectations and plans you have when your a teenager or young adult never ever pan out for anyone and even if it does they don’t ever seem satisfied in the way they thought they would be. It’s okay to not know, follow what makes you happy, and enjoy the ride because *planning* your whole life at 18 is a waste of time. Can I just say also that the whole “every Disney or Nickelodeon child actor/actress turns out bad” does NOT apply to you guys, Alison Stoner, the Ned’s cast, BTR cast, certain child stars really did turn out to be great people and it’s nice hearing you both talk about normal sh*t and I feel like it’s something a lot of us needed after onset of the plague 😅
I really love Kendall, MY FAVORITE of BTR since 2009, his personality, and the way he talks about his experience and lived lessons are really incredible.
Kendall is one of my favorite people and always gives the best advice, I really enjoyed getting to watch this and hear everything he had to say about such difficult topics, as well as hear what it was like to grow up in the industry. For me personally it was incredibly heartwarming to hear someone I've looked up to for so long talk about going to therapy and how beneficial it is, as someone who has been in therapy for years. I'm incredibly proud to look up to him.
This is amazing! As a young person, it's really nice to hear the different experiences of people you admire who have already been through it all. My experiences are like the many before me who have made it through and are living their lives despite their struggles. I hope to inspire such calm in other people some day, but for now, thank you for doing so. You and Kendall are amazing! 🥰
Kendall, the vulnerability you showed and the examples you gave brought me to tears. You have always been a major inspiration for me since day 1, and to learn that we have had similar struggles really touched me. I was particularly impacted by your statement where you said that “compare equals despair,” this is an entirely new concept to me and is such an important message. Thank you for this podcast and your humility through it all, it was truly amazing to see. Hope you are well
And Devon, you are such a compelling and compassionate host. I appreciated you adding your own experiences into this conversation. The dynamic between you two is incredible! I think this pod was the most influential one I have ever seen/listened to. Thank you so very much!!!
This episode was hilarious(the wiener talk got me). Kendall’s so funny and chill (which I didn’t expect lol) and radiates confidence. His girl made the right choice lol. I grew up watching BTR so this was an awesome crossover.
Loved seeing Kendall on this ep. I didn’t watch Ned’s when it aired, but did watch BTR, and this year watched Ned’s for the first time and it was cool realizing that the shows had the same creator and it was pretty obvious that Scott’s stamp was on it. I’m kinda mad that the neither one of you guys in the Ned trio made an appearance on the Big Time Rush (the show). People from other Nick shows made appearances. Would’ve been funny if at least one of you guys interacted with Daran Norris’ BTR character. Oh well lol
48:22-48:34: "I don't want to do just anything I want to do something that makes me happy more than what makes me a ton of money" I relate to some of what they're saying about growing up (especially about the investing part now that Im in my mid-20s), but this takes the cake. I learned this lesson this year and I cannot stress this enough.
COMPARE EQUALS DESPAIR portion????? Absolute relate. I know actors and musicians are people, but it never really occurred to me that Kendall or even Devon would have the same feelings or problems that I've had for a large chunk of my life.
THIS. This is my viewpoint for my career and what guides my decisions for my career. I’d rather be happy and enjoy what I do and be excited about going to work when I wake up in the morning rather than make a ton of money in a job that I’m not thrilled about going to and makes me dread waking up in the morning.
Kendall is so Zen! This is such a nice podcast/viewing experience and I feel like because of my interest becoming a BTR fan again I’m definitely interested in more concerning the whole thing with Sony and Nick, but I’ll definitely check out more episodes of this along with the Ned’s one! Positivity is really why all of this is necessary. It’s not just nostalgia, there’s really so much Khaos surrounding the industry and even Nickelodeon that we should remember what’s really positive for fans everywhere. Great pod!
What a video to randomly stumble upon. 2 of my favorite childhood actors I've haven't seen in years. Thanks for this episode, it's been really fun to see y'all talking
I love this episode. I am a woman but I love that you speak to men's mental health. That it is okay to talk about what you are going through. I do also like that you point out that therapy is ok. Its not for everyone but its not something to be afraid of or anything if that is what you do or know someone that goes to therapy. Its something that should be spoken of as normal.
Uncle Devon congrats. And, of course, congratulations to your sister. After the last podcast I had to look into Scott Fellows and it's kinda amazing how much his projects were a part of my life. The animated you mentioned he did was Johnny Test for the WB/CW unless there was another one and he brought that back for another season a couple of years back.
Omg, congratulations to your sister on the baby! I bet you're just so excited to be an Uncle. They are just the best little bundle of joy, even through all the spit ups and blowouts, it's just amazing. Uncle Devon!! How sweet
my whole life watching these 2 shows and never knowing they were both made by the same creator and devon and kendall being friends is messin me up (inna good way)
This is hilarious and real, thanks for having him on your podcast. Kendall is down to earth and it's so great to hear that he is happy in love and getting married! Very relatable and made me feel better about not having it all figured out. Stay positive! Love Scorpios
I love you guys, so much. Kendall's word of advice the whole episode really got to me. I grew up with BTR, so listening to Kendall talk about all of this, feels like a friend is chatting with me, giving me word of advice. So thanks, i'll follow his tips for real. And yep, Kendall Schmidt telling me to invest in retirment wasn't in my 2023 bingo card, but i'll take-and i'll try to do it. Thank you Devon, amazing pod. One of my favorites forever.
Thank you for this podcast. I have loved you both for the longest time! I hope you bring out the rest of the band in later episodes. Watching this podcast made little me so happy!
animal farm and 1984 are by george orwell, not ray bradbury, lol. lovely interview! Kendall is such a great guy: intelligent, humourous and down-to-earth
You are so amazing! You literally made our days with this talk. I just saw Kendall this last week on tour and I loved it so much, I could spend hours listening to him. I really wish you had tours with your music, because your old songs are just amazing, If Eyes Could Speak is still on my daily playlist, you deserved it, for sure! Thanks for this crossover 🇧🇷💙
I would absolutely love it if Heffron Drive made a comeback! They're one of my favorite bands. Kendall is a musician I truly admire ever since I was a kid. This was an amazing episode. Congratulations to your sister Devon!
That's why I love him so much. He's so humble and down to earth. Such an incredible human, been a Kendall Girl since 2012 and that's how is gonna be forever. I'll always suport him, I feel Good about beeing his fan.
i love how you said scott fellows made a little animated thing in between ned and BTR and its turns out it was the fucking insanity called JOHNNY TEST 😭
So cool that Kendall is into Taking Back Sunday. He was my fave for a reason without even knowing he was an emo boy lol. Now I need to hear him sing some TBS 👀
What other crossover episodes do you want to see?!
Hm, victorious crossover would be cool to see!
Carlos Penavegas
I think an interview with either an iCarly or Victorious cast member would be cool.
Maybe an interview with Miranda Cosgrove? Nathan Kress? Noah Munk?
Or Victoria Justice? Liz Gillies? Matt Bennett? Daniella Monet? Leon Thomas?
With some of the lovely folks from Wizards of Waverly place! Nick/Disney crossover. Would also be dope for you to have Scott Fellows on the show!
jerry trainor
The childhood crossover I never expected

I agree, I hate that BTR is overshadowed by 1D, because if it wasn't for BTR, 1D wouldn't have existed. So 1D fans have BTR to thank
@@dia.96 BTS took over nationwide, and the wanted had a good run for awhile
Jonas brothers in 2004-2006 too
Even if the show never gets rebooted, these podcasts with Devon's are definitely like the new Ned's declassified adult survival guide
Yes 🙌
I found it kind of healing to hear Kendall talk about his rock-bottom and how he got out of it through therapy :) as someone in their mid-20s going through some stuff, its a relief to hear that even a chill guy like kendall didnt always float through life that easily
Ditto!

Kendall was my fave on BTR and the finest 😭😭 This podcast keeps getting even greater guys keep it up!!
Both Devon and Kendall are such good talkers, I feel like an hour and 20 minutes just flew by. This is the crossover I never knew I needed.
Devon and Kendall in one podcast!! Childhood crushes coming together!? I’m in heaven! Great podcast as always! ♥️
Love you all
🥹🥹 hopefully brining more and more to you each week
Big time grown ups ❤️❤️ grew up watching Ned's Declassified and Big Time Rush! I'm 30 now and living for this podcast episode 🥹 thanks so much!
Two childhood made possible by Scott Fellows Incredible. Loved Ned Declassified loved the Big Time Rush show and love the Big Time Rush band.

You're the man, Devon. Love the connection you have with your family.
I watched both the shows and I didn’t realize it was created by the same person x)) makes so much sense why I loved both shows 😂

I loved both these shows growing up! He is so genuine and chill. I loved that he mixed up the authors for 1984 and Animal Farm with Ray Bradbury
I can't believe the same guy who created Ned's and Big Time Rush, created Johnny Test in the middle of it all.
This is amazing! As a young person, it's really nice to hear the different experiences of people you admire who have already been through it all. Devon talking about being an uncle is so wholesome 🥹
"CAUSE YA GOTTA LIVE IT BIG TIME!" bro I'm glad I was born in 96'🙌 2000s nickelodeon was 🔥🔥🔥
1:03:28 no he’s real af for this because if you DIDNT poop that morning then you’re dealing with your own gut issues which is ALSO vulnerable
When all of these shows ended I thought my childhood was over but thanks to the internet we get to see what everyone is up to and it's awesome😊
I relate so hard to that joy of becoming an aunt/uncle. I have never felt as much love as I did when my nephew was born
It was ned's then Johnny test then Big time rush which were some of my favorite childhood shows
Not gonna lie, this two were my biggest childhood crushes and at this day I admire them so much
What a video to randomly stumble upon. 2 of my favorite childhood actors I've haven't seen in years. Thanks for this episode, it's been really fun to see y'all talking

All you gotta do is get someone from 100 Things and you'll have the Scott Fellows trilogy!
You both, Davon and Kendall (And all the BTR members) were part of my childhood, thank you for this episode. Saludos desde México ❤🇲🇽
The way they went from something to serious with comparing themselves to them talking about poop on your hands was way too funny
That's why I love him so much. He's so humble and down to earth. Such an incredible human, been a Kendall Girl since 2012 and that's how is gonna be forever. I'll always suport him, I feel Good about beeing his fan.
