Thanks, Perry! I have a shower update that will be coming soon (soon = this weekend, if all goes well). And a beekeeping update waiting in the wings (it is summer here now).
And here I thought my quip about the nuclear fusion reactor was the comedy highlight of the video! Those staples are slightly too small and the electric cable has a mind of its own, so I went a bit overboard.
Looking good. See the comment regarding the panels on the roof, but I agree. If you are going to use the structure for additional storage and it also helps with any changeout or repairs as its much closer to the ground.😂😂
The angle of the roof is just right, but the house is facing northwest. This will bias the solar for maximum production towards the afternoon. Not a problem though. But I planned the stand from the beginning, and also, I don't want too much weight on the roof due to the ridge beam/rafter construction rather than trusses. Personal preference.
@@erikdolson1507 True, I should have shown that! It was a lot of digging, in my defence. Each panel is mounted to the 50x75 support beams with 4 x 100mm long M6 bolts, nuts and washers, from the bottom.
@@erikdolson1507 Yes. The frames have 4 pre-drilled oblong mounting holes, but after trying to drill the beams for those holes on the first panel, I found it easier to just add new holes in the frame.

Great job !!
9:49 Those 97 cable staples in 4 feet are hilarious. 😂

Do you think installing the panels on the roof of the house would diminish their efficiency too much?
Too much digging, and no info on how the panels were mounted to frame.
