They live with their built in best friends, plus their chosen best friends, and two children. They seem so happy and peaceful. This interview was so wholesome.

My husband is an identical twin. Although he shares so many things with his brother, he is still an individual. Visually the couples look identical but I’m sure they have behaviours, beliefs, personality traits that are slightly different from each other. Those differences is why I love my husband and really like my brother-in-law.

So cool! Having a happy relationship and family together! Some commentors think independence is the most important thing, but humans are social creatures. Living with your family has been natural for most of human history, not getting your own apartment and trying to do it all on your own. They seem very happy. And having spouses that understand the strong bond you have with your twin, seems like it's working great for them.

That’s a great point! Independent living is over-emphasized in our Western culture too much!
The concern here is that these couples are presenting another extreme! Too much enmeshing! Lack of individuality, lack of personal space!
I’m more curious why they try to present themselves as ‚perfect‘ and ideal! Their answers about a marriage relationship is very immature! I would expect such answers from children, not adults!
They come across as robotic and contrived! I think that’s what people are picking up on! They seem to lack the down-to-Earth mentality!

Yes, u are right! The interviewer is caring and likeable!
Yet, it all felt very superficial and contrived! The questions, the setting, the clothes, the answers, everything!!
There was no depth, no emotion, no reality! These couples seem to need to be seen as perfect and ideal! No one is this perfect!
      They seem to lack passion!

@@lenitaa7938 I understand what you mean. But I know a lot of people this way in the American South. Very upper middle class "wasp."
The interviewer tried to ask about Soul Mates. One of the women mentioned that their relationship is like a Spiritual Experience. I wish the interviewer had asked her more about that instead of talking about shrooming lol.
They were discussing the Meyers Briggs types, and instead of asking them to go into that more deeply, the interviewer changed gears and talked about Horiscopes.
There were opportunities for it to go to a deeper place, but they just weren't on the same page.
These 4 speak the same language, and are probably deep with one another, but to tap into it takes someone who can get them talking more about the same subject until they reveal something new.
Active listening skills would be a good training exercise for him.

I can imagine that having the extra help, support; emotionally and financially ,companionship would help tremendously within a marriage but especially in the early years of having children. Having someone who loves you more than anyone in the world x 2 , would be extremely beneficial imo. Every little girls dream come true. Knowing someone has your best interest in mind makes a world of difference. Lucky kids!

My husband's grandma was a twin and they married twins. All 4 were really short. And they didn't meet at a festival for twins. They just met organically from what I understand. Sometimes looking at pictures, I accidentally refer to them as his 2 little grandmas, since the 2 were photographed together all the time.

Children bring another dynamic to a marriage. My husband and I just celebrated our 57th anniversary. We liked each other since we were 12. So, 8 yrs. before we wed. That is 65 years liking and loving each other and definitely getting to know each other. We tried 11 years to have our son and then situations changed significantly. My husband has had some touch and go health problems, but with each other and God we have gotten through it. All and all, I wouldn't change anything. By the way, my love is a twin, fraternal.

For most of us, our face looks different from a right angle than it does from the left. So that’s what I think we are perceiving as a difference in their appearance.

They can’t speak for non twin couples as their dynamic is very different and these four even more so. They chose to be a family of four so immediate support.
Most couples would say, yes you have to work at it but that doesn’t me drudgery.
It means men and woman think differently are emotionally different but if there is genuine respect it means you want to look to the needs of the other and come together with the same temperament fir them good of both then it’s not that hard. It is a mindset.

To label it co-dependent is their own twisted mind in search of stamping something they could never understand. It’s wonderful, special and so unique. When you think of God knitting each of us together in our mothers womb, and He knit 2 of you! Wow!

Brothers or sisters having trouble from their spouses simply because they want to hang out with the sibling that they always been allowed to hang out with but now because their spouse gets jealous they have to be unhappy not being able to hang out with out an excuse, it's sad the restrictions some spouses put on their partners human interactions

We wud always say no & people wud look @ us like we were crazy & we didn't know wat we were saying or talking about.

Their kids will all genetically siblings (same mom-dad genetic combo regardless of which mom-dad pair). These two pairs call their two kids "twins" because they're the same age. They share approximately the same amount of DNA as regular siblings or fraternal(not identical) twins.

What they were saying about the list you have for your future partner is so true. My mum had 3 things on her list at least 2 years older (my dad is 2 years and 1 day older), not anyone from abroad cause then he'd take her away from her family (my Dad is from New Zealand the furthest from England you can get and he did take her away to New Zealand) and can't have epilepsy (her best friend had it when she was young and she didn't want to go through that with her future husband) my Dad has epilepsy, is blind and has a head injury that effects him in a lot of ways. She told me not to have a list cause fate will do what it wants. But of course I had one and yes fate just laughed at me

@jenniwilliams3295: There’s nothing creepy or odd about these couples. They are happy and they are living life the way they want to live! This is what they have chosen, because they have basically always lived in community by sharing their life so closely with Twin. And FYI, yes both sets of twins are identical twins.

They seem to have the ‚magical thinking‘ about their relationship and marriage! I was very surprised! They are mature adults, not teenagers! Marriages are not fairytales, yet, they made it seem so, purposely so, about own marriages! It all felt too scientific, too impersonal, too measured! They didn’t feel real! As if they were putting on a show!
I understand that the Interviews can be nerve-racking and everyone wants to be on his or her best behaviour! Yet, it all felt unnatural and too ‚perfect‘! They seem to have a need to come across as ideal and perfect!
They are human, not robots! Do they feel anything? Anything they feel passionate about? Any individual interests?
    Do they have careers?
The questions were superficial! Maybe, there needed to be more personal, deeper questions? Different type of questions.. And, definitely, a different setting! The setting, the clothes were all too formal! It’s like they were on a movie set!
There needs to be a Part 2!
At the end, did we really learn much at all about them, except that they all live together!? I know almost as much about them after the interview as I did before the interview!
We don’t even know, how did they even choose each other! Drew the straws?
It would feel weird to be married to an identical twin, who dressed, acted and looked alike! How do the husbands tell them apart?
How do they deal with conflict, living in the same house!? Just how much are their lives intertwined? Do they eat all their meals together? Do they do everything together? To what extent? Any holidays, weekends, evenings apart as couples, individuals?
Does each couple have any autonomy and privacy? Does anyone get any privacy?
They seem to be very intermeshed! Very little autonomy, individuality! It may work for them, but is it healthy for them as married couples and is it healthy for their Children!?? Community living is one thing, but the intermeshing and lack of autonomy is quite another! It feels pathological!
Their answer about the possible future children was strange, also! Unemotional to extreme!
Are they able to love? Even their relationship to own existing Children felt impersonal, formal, disassociated! I’ve never heard any parents to be this lukewarm!
Some Movie Director ought to hire them to act in some futuristic robot movie! They would be perfect for the roles!
It would be great to have a Psychologist listen to this interview! I would pay to know the analysis!
I think if they ever got separated or divorced, or, God forbid, something happened to any of them, it would be catastrophic and their very carefully-constructed world turn to dust! I hope I’m wrong, but that’s my fear for them! A domino effect!

YES, thank you. even when they were asked about individual personality traits, they were struggling to remember test results quotes like it was script that determined who was who. what do you mean you can't say one thing about their personality that makes them them? that's something you instinctively know about yourself, your significant other, your family, specially if you spend that much time together. the "she was the first to say she wanted kids and she has felt that a family member was close to passing, so she deals with the life and death stuff", that's not a personality, ma'am, that's something that happened one time. "i have a even temperament" NO SHIT, but you're all monotone and contrived. so off-putting. everything seems fake and like it's about crumble if life puts them in a high pressure situation.
...also the 2 guys don't even look that much alike

@lenitaa7938 I agree that I would’ve liked more in-depth questions. But I have known people in real life who prefer to dress the same, even as adult twins. I have known people who are not twins that have a very minimalistic or spartan house w/o much “stuff.” For some people it’s a reaction to growing up in an environment with too much stuff. Evidently these four twins never felt much need to individuate from their other twin, as they were always best friends. I’m glad these two sets of identical twins found each other!
@lenitaa, I think most likely you are not a native English speaker. One thing that would help your writing to not turn people off as much, would be if you could change to not using so many exclamation marks (!s) at the end of nearly every sentence. When you do it so often, it comes across as if you are shouting at people, practically the same as using all capital letters. IT CAN MAKE YOUR WORDS HARD TO READ & ABSORB, IF THEY FEEL YOU ARE SHOUTING AT THEM ALL THE TIME! 💙🌻
Re: the two male twins, I think for the one on the left we’re mostly seeing the right side of his face. While the one on the right, we are normally seeing mostly his left side of his face.
For most of us, our face looks different from a right angle than it does from the left. So that’s what I think we are perceiving as a difference in their appearance.
Also the individual twins can make choices that lead to differences in appearance. For example hairstyling could be slightly different, they could use different hair products, one Twin could be more physically active and fit, while the other Twin could eat extra fried foods or ice cream and end up a little heavier. Things like that can also change our appearance.
My best friend is an identical twin. When I first met her and her sister, I could not tell them apart. By the time I had known them 2 or 3 months, there was not any challenge at all telling the two sisters apart! They had such different preferences in so many areas! One twin was just more joyful, mentally flexible, positive and laughed a lot more. She & I had much more in common & just really clicked! The other twin tended to be more depressed and often engaged in risky, dangerous behavior. She also got stuck in alcohol and substance abuse as a young teen, and it has had a destructive effect on her life. As long as I’ve known her, she has not really wanted to try new things or visit interesting new places. She would rather stay home than go to the beach or a concert for example. There were small differences in appearance, such as scars and different ear piercings; one parted her hair differently, had a cowlick at the front of her hair etc. Eventually the sad twin cut her hair short, while my friend left her hair long. My friend enjoyed going camping and spending a lot of time out in nature, she learned to garden, can food and bake bread, was always asking questions & wanting to learn more crafts and skills. She loves to read books and play more complicated games like chess. Her sister was not at all interested in these things- she mainly wanted to watch tv & play video games. One sister exercised a lot more, studied very hard, began working at age 15 to save up $, and had different interests. My friend studied so hard she got a full ride scholarship and finished her bachelor’s degree in far less time than usual. She now has 3 degrees and a very diverse and fulfilling life. These 2 identical twins had different reactions to major life experiences, Such as divorce of parents, moving to the opposite side of the continent when one parent remarried, having to start from scratch with friends, from the time they were 13 or 14, and in the end, 40 years later they are drastically different people.
I have another set of identical twin friends who I grew up near and attended school with K - 12. They grew up on a dairy farm and they both enjoyed similar activities. Yet one had slightly different interests from the other, and they decided to study for different degrees at University. One became a veterinarian while the other became a specialist in Biology and Dairy Science, how to best run & manage a dairy herd for optimal health and production. As adults, these guys decided to live right beside each other. So it’s similar to the twins in this story, except they didn’t marry twins. The extended family is a large supportive community which is excellent for their children. If one adult is ill, there are always others who can step in and pick up the slack. They do at least have their own houses, But their backyards run together and they share some tasks such as they share a large garden and work on some projects and chores together. They take turns with jobs such as mowing both yards at the same time, taking their children on field trips, outings, canoeing and camping trips together, etc. It’s working out really well for them!

You all have your bonds and twin connections but wouldnt it be nice for each couple to live seperate & still be each others twin, & best friends and see each other as much as you can, when you can as best friends and double date, hang out, but go home to your own homes when the day is done and have that bit of individual time with having your own families?..i guess im trying to understand the whole inseperable thing literally.
When the interview started & you were saying some people say its 'co dependency' but by the end of the interview now i can see why thats been said. Not that im trying to be negative by any means, but I think there is definitly that element looking at your dynamics. Anyways thats just my thoughts. Your living arrangements seems go be working for you all & all the best to you guys.
