Why is it in all of these videos the taps especially come apart very easily, I wouldn't mind a pound for everyone I've tried to take apart and it's been virtually impossible.
As a full-time plumber I would say the majority of taps come apart quite easily and only occasionally a nightmare. The reason they come apart easily in all the videos is because it would be stupid to upload a video of a nightmare job and you wouldn't even finish filming it
I have a golden faucet with a switch to use the faucet as a shower. Now that plastic thread from the shower to the switch has broken and the filter and shower are falling off, but the switch remains. Is it possible to replace only that part from the switch
If you mean the tap cartridge is stuck after removing the round cover, you probably need to pull it out forcefully using some water pump pliers like the ones in the video
Can you please tell me how to know the Exact size of the Cartridge? Once I bought 'Handle Faucet Lever' and it was not fitted propertly because of its size.
@@knowledgesharer6983 the measurement you need is the width (diameter) of the fat round part. The rest you'll have to make sure it looks the same, top and bottom.
I followed this and now my water pressure is extremely low. Otherwise everything seems to be working perfectly, no leaking no nothing. Can anyone help or offer advice please? I really can't afford a plumber and I'm trying to do it all on my own.
Remove the cartridge and check for any debris in the holes on the bottom. You should also make sure water is turned back on fully at isolating valves or stopcock
@@HouseWarm Thank you for replying. I'll try checking the cartridge and holes again. The water is on and the pressure from the pipe is good, as it also goes to the sink and that works just fine (this cartridge I changed was for the shower tap but it's still a mixer tap so it's the same)
A lot of standard taps have the same standard cartridges. There's 2 different sizes of this one in the video and they fit a lot of taps. You can remove the cartridge and try to find it online, or take it to a plumbing merchants to try and match it up. Sometimes you have to contact the manufacturer, typically on fancy expensive taps.

Unless it's a bungalow, turning off stop tap isn't enough, open all taps in bathroom and flush toilet, also, if there's a downstairs toilet, flush that, otherwise when you strip tap down it'll piss out all over worktop.
@@keithdavies1395 this wasn't a bungalow and turning off the stoptap was enough. If the tap you're working on is downstairs then you should open a tap upstairs to let the water out the pipes. I've never heard of anyone doing what you're saying, definitely no need for all that

If the nut is stuck any suggestions on how to get it to turn so I can complete the procedure, is it safe to force it while holding the base ? Thanks
Yeah, that's what I do. The bigger the tool you use the easier it comes off.
You need to fix your isolation tap under the sink. It is leaking. see start of video.

I would have placed the screw cover somewhere safe in case it fell down the plughole.

Yeah, you can replace the tap lever handle.
Sorry to sound like a complete dumb arse but do I literally just yank it off ? 😅
You need to loosen the screw first, same as in video.
Ok
Many thanks !! Done it 😂x
Hey. I’ve tried to remove the solid part after I did some unscrew on the hole but no result. Can you tell me what should I try ?

What is the difference between the mixer tap cartridge and the mixer raised cartridge?
Raised tap cartridge is taller

Why similar Grohe taps impossible to take top nut off.I bought the 32mm socket still won’t come off.
Yeah they can be tough to remove, I usually use my 400mm Knipex pliers to get plenty leverage on tight nuts and cartridges.

L key size ?
It was a small flathead screwdriver for this tap.
A hex (Allen) key grub screw is usually 2.5mm but the size can vary
