I’ve seen a creator talking about something similar but from the other point of view. Vangelina Skov talks about it in her last video (I think it’s about Jojo Siwa but they also talked about this). She streamed a long time ago a meme song, and after that YT thinks that she has the rights to the songs, so she could claim so much stuff even if she doesn’t ACTUALLY own anything, just cause YT is absolute garbage when it comes to this topic. I hope you won’t have any problems, I think it’s crazy some random person can copyright claim stuff that’s not theirs in the first place and also be this shitty about the situation. You can't claim copyright on works that existed before the copyright law even existed LOL. If you want to upload yourself reading Shakespeare plays, you're welcome to do so. I can't upload someone else's Shakespeare performance though since recordings have their own copyright associated with them. But this was ME! I disputed the claim. SONY DOUBLED DOWN LMAO. I was so mad. I was like; "BET." and appealed the claim. It timed out. Music production companies are slimy even at the top levels. COME AT ME, BRO 😂

Honestly, that’s a really good idea. Not only the money side of it, but the reputation damage of other people claiming official Nintendo music as their own and communicating to people this way is a reeeaally bad look for a corporation

I think UA-cam should investigate more seriously people who copyright claim to avoid these types of situation. This is insane that they don't verify,if they did this claim would have gotten overturned even before you were aware of it. You're basically doing the work they should be doing.

I've heard about this being a huge problem with independent publishers (for example, rampant illegitimate claims on the music from Stardew Valley) but it's incredibly bold of these scammers to try and claim Nintendo's property!

I try to keep up to date with your posts, but for the last 2 weeks I've deactivated my Twitter. Not sure if you're aware of what is going on in the UK at the minute, but think the scale of riots of January 6th but literally every single day for 2 weeks. That is all my Twitter feed will show me and it is devastating.

I had an issue with someone copy right claiming my video for music that didn't belong with them. They were a scam and I wasn't aware! My friend told me to fight it and she helped me just fight it and it worked. You are 100% correct.

Shameful and sad but not surprised. I have bumped into copyright claims out of nowhere from sources I've never seen before. Knowing that I have zero faith in UA-cam to do anything about the situation, I just delete the videos altogether. There's scammers everywhere and UA-cam is one of their breeding grounds. I hope you have a little more luck than I did.

I swear the copyright claim system has been wilding lately - I have a channel where I upload all my Twitch VODS, although I'm terrible at actually making them public, with a nice thumbnail & whatnot, so most of them are still private. It used to be I would never have a claim on any of my VODS, but lately it's like every third video has one, even when they're private. And it's all stuff where I know the music isn't what they say it is, like the claim of a snippet of a Jason Mraz song when I had GlitchxCity's lofi radio playing in the background - I'm 99% sure there's no Jason Mraz in there. I wonder if it's possible to dispute the claims when the videos are private? I'm not even monetized on YT yet, but just the fact that people/bots can go around claiming things that aren't theirs, like you've done something wrong, is infuriating.

I always mute the staff credit in Pokémon Scarlet & the dlc due of copyright & I have to see the staff credit off camera & Pokémon game are way more serious then animal crossing with copyright music & I always delete the video that have copyright claim on it & replace it with a another video so I didn’t get any copyright claim at all now
