    great little bike. I bought an '07 VLX back in 2011 with 3800 miles and sold it last year with over 114k miles. Still ran great although the compressions were getting a little soft.

    Although this video is 2 yrs old I was a new rider when I bought my 2003. The style really stayed the same over the years but watching you ride brought back memories. My bike has been sitting so I'm watching videos to see if I can do the tune up and oil change myself. It's not a bad first bike. I wish I had rode more because now I'm like a real newbie and out of practice.
    Thanks for this video. Not only did I learn something, I enjoyed watching you ride.
    Also that clutch issues is a known problem with that bike. I have the same issue and sometimes the bike stalls because of it. Pain in the butt.

    What a gorgeous bike
    I have done enough research
    This is going to be my first bike
    But 750 seems a perfect choice

    I have a 2003 Shadow 600cc and thanks to you I know now how to clean the carbs and other things. Love your video's and thanks so much for making them. Its helping me out. I put a lithium battery in mine and it cranks better than a lead acid battery.

    Love my vlx 600, easy to fix but not much fixing needed. Looks like his boot heels look like mine. Lol
    As for the turn signals mine did the same thing not working when it gets cooler out, 45f. Turned out the switch in the handle bar needs to be taken apart and cleaned, and relube. There is a UA-camr who specializes in honda I found but can't think of his name now .
    Being a four speed it loves to have it revs stretched out between shifts. I run 75 mph all day long, been over 80 to pass.

    I have a vlx 600, if you want to go faster than 65 you really got to throttle it back. Great bike for cruising just kind of low geared.

      Swap the airbox out for velocity stacks rejet the carbs and it turns into a different beast entirely

    • @hamishdow2188
      @hamishdow2188 4 роки тому +3

      Easily do 80 on my bobbed out vlx with the stacks on it and there is room to go a bit faster but i dont want to risk wrecking on it, my bobber is really pretty and i dont want to shred it down the highway

      Yes going beyond 65 mph on mine feels like I'm pushing it too hard. It will do it but I don't mind sticking at 65 or below. No hurry for me. Its quick from 0-60 and that's good enough for me. Love the shadows.

    great video. it was surprise, nice easy way to fix turn signals. I have hazards working but no turn signals work at all, will try to find out the problem. Checked fuse, I believe it is same relay for hazards and turn signals, so can"t fault that or flat battery :}

  • @murraykriner9425

    Yeah, the Honda turn signal module is costly. Glad it was just a bad battery instead. Sure most of VT500C ills will vanish once I get a better battery on it.

    When you move the camera to show the other bikes in the garage at 8:10 , what handlebars are installed on the bike closest to the camera? I really like that style bend.

    Hey buddy i like the videos. I own a 2005 Honda Shadow VlX 600. My bike makes a wierd hissing noise when the idel is low. And when I turn the idle up you dont hear the hissing noise anymore. Also when i start it cold you still dont hear it untill the bike is warm. Do you have any idea what it could be.

    • @rabidsquirrelgarage745

      Sounds like you need to go around the engine and check all the rubber hoses to make sure they are not cracked or haven't become disconnected.

    • @joshuaquigley8579
      @joshuaquigley8579 3 роки тому +1

      Hey James! I'm not a certified mechanic myself, but I would drain and replace all the fluids, make sure the gas tank didn't need to be flushed, clean the carburetor and check the boots to make sure they aren't cracked so that you don't lose pressure. I've put a lot of thought into it because I'm planning to buy myself a VLX soon to turn into a bobber. Congrats on the new bike and keep the shiny side up!

    • @rabidsquirrelgarage745

      The video is about changing the oil and taking it for a test ride. Changing the battery out on these is super simple and I did it before making this video. According to the title of this video, it doesn't mention a battery at all so I assume you were not watching the video to see how to change a battery out.
