Sylosis - Sands of Time (Guitar Cover)

- Me doing my best attempt at playing through this great track, Sands of Time, by Sylosis, from my favorite album "Edge of the Earth"! As most of this album this is a great mix of thrash, death and some very epic melodic sections!
The solo's is what I struggled the most with, as I actually didn't know how to play them, as I sat down to record. So they are learned on the fly, and probably forgotten tomorrow!
I do hope that the mix is alright in this one too. I am still having some issues with my right ear, which makes mixing quite hard. So if it is all bad, I might remix it when it gets better.
Hope you enjoyed it, and constructive criticism is very welcome, together with anything else you might have on your mind.

This was my favorite song of theirs to play. How have you not covered Altered States of Consciousness yet?? I must see you crush that solo! Also for shits and giggles... have to ask, could you cover Earths Dust one day?

+Afonso Mendes Definitely is! Such a all around incredible album. Can't think of a track from it that is even remotely bad in my opinion!

+Afonso Mendes Monolith has definitely grown more and more on me over time. But as a whole Earth tops it, as there are one or two tracks that drags Monolith down for me. But still It is probably still my second favorite. So: Earth, Monolith, Dormant, Conclusion :)
Will probably get back to Sylosis soon! :)

How the hell do you do those super fast solo runs man
+SuperCooldude24 Practice, practice, practice! Dedicate some time to play the runs slowly, then steadily speed up your playing, then if you reach a point where you make mistakes, try to disclose why you make the mistakes and try to fix your technique!
One small tip, is to have a tight grip on the pick, but be loose in your muscles. Arm and hand. You don't won't it to be too forced, as that will just tire you out. It need to be at some point where it is fast, but loose and in control.
Pick size and angle of attack can be quite important too. More than one might think.

+MattyPS Thanks man! Turned out better than I had hoped for, as I wasn't very motivated doing the other layered tracks. Main track was done in the afternoon, while the rest was in the evening, after dinner! :p
