this was the first stage play i watched on broadway ever. I really enjoyed it!!!
this is hands down the best show i’ve seen and yes i’m serious i’ve seen several and this out did them all by miles 10/10
What a AMAZING show love the diversity in the cast and have been lucky enough to work with Jennifer Weber and she is a powerhouse beyond talented and shes just getting started I see so many more great adventures in store for her as well as for this amazing cast
Would this be good/appropriate/understandable for and by my 7 and 9 year old daughters?
@@Listan1 Maybe. It does have some suggestive moments. It also has some lgbtq+ themes. I don’t remember that much from the show (only that it was amazing), but as long as you’re ok with this stuff, shoul,d be fine. You should probably look up some reviews though. I might have missed something.
OMG..all these hating comments. 😂 You guy's act like it was a real story and that it can't be changed. Shakespeare was creative, and a writer. I seriously doubt hes rolling in his grave because someone took inspiration from his story and put a different spin on it. 😂 Its no different than when a music artist covers another artist song. They put their own flavor and flair. Relax, go outside and touch some grass. Everything is OK! I promise. ❤
Bro this show looks so good. It might be my 3rd fav show just below 1st, Six and 2nd, Hamilton. Actually, & Juliet and Six should collab 😂
And Juliet Ham4Ham!!!
Shakespeare is cheering from his grave that he made Julliet an hero herself in the play after seeing this.
Seriously doubt it.
@@reviews.7399 No, he IS.
@@superoldgamesaturday3277 Not one bit. Last time I checked Juliet was Caucasian.
@@reviews.7399 seriously dude racist much . In Shakespeare's day the girls parts were always played by men . This girl is Amazing and truly deserves the part no mtter what her skin color is

For all asking about how Shakespeare would feel about this, he lived during a time period of racism and misogyny. He would be screaming that (1) there's women playing his characters (2) there's black people and other POC playing his characters (or those that were inserted into his story) and worst of all (3) that a black woman is playing the lead. This isn't about him though, this is something to show how far we've come and to keep his famous stories alive with the times.
So yes, he is rolling in his grave, and he can keep on doing so.
I literally just realized this is abc news woah wait Rachel’s Simon Webb is the actor tho for me
Is iconic ❤
Brilliant in the west end
I don’t get the concept. Romeo also ended his life for Juliet. So how are they making him seem like the bad guy or that it needs to be “feminist”.
It’s just a different vision is all I feel!
I actually agree with you, in the Musical they never mention that Romeo’s feelings weren’t true
He is just a guy who fell in love with a bunch of people before meeting the right one (and dying for her after 2 days of knowing her)
I don't do "Broadway," but i did want to comment on the expansion of the types of Holiday Movies they are doing now, that includes the LGBTQ+ Community; & i think that's great. If Candice Bure doesn't like it, well suffice, her new Network seems to fit her to a GAF (great american fam).
Wow, YOU'LL be alone this Christmas.
@@superoldgamesaturday3277 -wteff does that have to do with anything i said. Sounds like you are, oh what's that word? - looking at your own pitiful life .. just like trump ...
@@marmac7619 Thank you for proving my point. Clearly, you have issues and are waste of a human being who has contributed nothing to society, which is why I said, 100% correctly, that you'll be alone this Christmas. Here's a tip for you that will help everyone; it's more effective to go down the road than across the street.
@@superoldgamesaturday3277 Nah, they’ve got me.
Omg is this theatre now :"( kill me
leave some bleach for me to drink after youre done with it...this musical looks absolutely ridiculous
@@emilyakalbun5540 I'm going out with a cocktail; bleach, Draino, and antifreeze to taste (need to sweeten it up for palatability). I'll save you a glass and we shall drink to the real Literary Juliet, not this mockery ;)
Sounds like a plan 😉
I thought they had LGBTQIA+ remakes of SHAKESPEAREAN already ?
Shakespeare would not be in love.
eh, Juliet loved Romeo, her being this modern woman doesn't make sense for the time, she's not a city girl coming to New York trying to find herself, she would be soft not pushed out like how they are putting her, cute show for kids but nothing wow, I remember all the real takes on actors and story not just a fairytale look that broadway had, now anyone can make it
Let me see if you can HATER
❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥👏👏👏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Seems so tacky and posed. A hard watch.
No need to watch affirmative action shows unless you are in a charitable mood
They butchered R&J. No more love story, so Romeo thought Juliet was dead, so he suicide, Juliet wakes up and said “I’m not in love with Romeo, I want to date 100 other guys” wow!!
They DID NOT butchered Romeo & Juliet. It still the same characters but it's a twist to the story. During these sad times of everything that is happening now, I think is brilliant in my eyes how Mr. Read wrote the story. If you want to be that technical about the whole thing and not into "CHANGE," then STOP being disrespectful by calling it R&J...how does that feel by me correcting you. "CHANGE is GOOD!" STOP living in the dark ages.
KUDOS to &Juliet Broadway⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
@@pulchritudinousqueenmelody3182 ok you have your opinion, I have mine. Stop forcing people to be all feminist. It’s Romeo and Juliet, but no Romeo so obviously it was butchered. If you even know literature, Shakespearean’s tragedy is when they both died for love. Not one die then the other one go and date others.
@@BlueStreak706 You darn tootin I'm a pulchritudinous feminist. And since you put it that way, it's "NOT" Rome & Juliet... 🗣"IT IS JULIET & ROMEO!." How's that for femininity 😂
@@pulchritudinousqueenmelody3182 good for you! Like I said, you are entitled to your own views and beliefs, same goes for everyone so please don’t force a view on someone. I’m sick and tired of the bigot views at work and the media, I don’t have to put up with it at home. I say as I please hahaha
@@yummyspaghettinoodles1650 Even THAT'S better than this.
Yikes
Sorry Shakespeare
More like "sorry, human race" and "thank God for COVID."
Shakespeare must be rolling in his grave.
Probably not, if Shakespeare were around today he would probably love this show
You're right, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. For one, women are playing some of his characters. Second (and probably even worse in his perspective) black people are playing his characters. Worst of all, a black woman is his lead. So yes he would hate this, but it just shows how far we've come.
Another one of your american things.
The writer is Canadian, the show premiered at the Manchester Opera, and it's been running on the West End way longer than it has on Broadway.
Sorry Shakespeare
Sorry for what. Shakespeare is in his Glory
@@pulchritudinousqueenmelody3182 no...he sad that they woke joke the shid out of this masterpiece
🤢🤮 no thank you...super woke joke
Last I checked Juliet was Caucasian.
who said? no need to be racist. i bet you were mad when you found out that the live action ariel was black
@@dantethepotato9263 Juliet was Caucasian. It even says so if you read the actual novel and play if you know how to read. As for this live action Ariel that movie is going to flop like a fish and I’m going to love every minute of it. It will not make Super Mario Bros Movie numbers 😁😁😁
@@dantethepotato9263Im pretty sure that the creators now that Juliet originally was Caucasian but tell what does the story is affected with Juliet being not Caucasian
@@andresmaldonado8935 i... agree with you? idk why you responded to my comment. the character can be white without the actor being white, and in theatre suspension of disbelief calls for this a lot of the time
@@dantethepotato9263 omg Im so sorry i accidentally replied to you comment instead of just comment it
