As an old pga professional l used to get paid to play a brand of club, now at 70 years old and having to pay for my own clubs l choose to play titliest. I fully admit they are not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Quality precision equipment can only help your game provided you are custom fitted.
I’ve got the original t100 irons and a Taylormade stealth 2 driver. Had the irons for a while now and I’m really enjoying them. Plenty forgiving enough but make me feel like a player. Got the stealth 2 a couple days ago and same story really.
Those are absolutely beautiful irons!! I have a set of the original Titleist T100S irons, which are awesome, however, I prefer my Callaway X Forged CB irons, they look better, feel better and are slightly more forgiving in my mind (which is a mysterious place lol). I don’t think you could go wrong with either though.
Next year is my season to upgrade my irons. I am still playing my old Ping S55 irons. I am devouring your iron reviews and I might be leaning toward the Takomo 301 irons. You have opened my eyes to all of the options, James. Well done!
I just have been fitted with exactly the same combo of t150 and i3 t200. Thanks for your review and I was exactly looking for a review on the turf interaction which is for me one of the big qualities of this set. This video is so accurate. Can’t wait to have my new set !
Great set of irons. I play the T100S at 15 hc. More forgiving than they look. I hit the t150 a couple weeks ago. I didn’t see enough difference to make me want to change
I owned the T100S and now have the T150s…you’re correct. There isn’t much difference in overall performance. If anything, I do notice the T150s are a tad more forgiving with the almost unnoticeable larger head, and for me, they do fly a bit higher, which I need, but that could be due to shafts. I had Project X LZ 6.0 shafts in my T100S irons and have AMT Black S300 shafts in my T150s now which is a lighter shaft…IMHO, the T100S irons are a better looking iron, but I still love my T150s…enjoy and don’t regret not “upgrading.”
@@petegalindez9961 I play kbs c taper light stiff. My previous irons were px rifle 6.0. I wouldn’t mind going back to the rifles in the 150. I hit a high ball which is great most of the time. If I kept it lower I’d gain a few yards. But it is a great iron I have to say. Had a good round today. Irons didn’t cost me a stroke all day.
Just tried these as a 15.6, I've never swung such amazing feeling irons. and they felt consistent, 15 shots within a 5 yard circle, even my mishit rolled up into that circle. I'm trying out few things hoping to buy sometime next year, and these are surprisingly in the lead over p790 and t200.
Speaking of ap2s, ive transitioned 716 ap2 to t350s. Tensei red A flex. 6-gw. Fitter added a tsr1 26 hybrid to fill gap to my 818h1. 3 rounds in and i love them.
I’m not loyal to any brand of club/iron…I usually get fitted and go with works best…was fitted a couple of years ago for the Titleist T100S combo’d with the T200 irons in the 5/6. In the sim, great. On the course, the turf interaction with the T200s was terrible with my swing. Wound up selling them and getting a set of MP221/223 combo set and love them, though the 221s are traditionally lofted. I’ve had both hips replaced, shoulder surgery, and back issues, but hit the ball pretty solidly and consistently, so want a smallish head that can give some help (like the T100S) BUT without giving up feel. So, got fitted for the T150s and voila! BINGO! Great feeling, heads not too big (though prefer the 100S size to be honest), and they do give a little extra distance and height over what I was getting with my T100S irons (note: could be the shafts…I had Project X LZ 6.0 in my T100S and have AMT Black S300 in my T150s). I’m not a long hitter by any stretch…PW usually my 115 club with traditional lofts like the 221s….with the T150s, 130 all day long…I did blend them again with the T200 in the 5/6 (new T200) and have the same turf interaction problem…so, as a test, subbed in my 5/6 iron from my MP223s that blend with my 221s and it’s perfect now! Can’t say enough about the performance and feel of the T150s…unless I hit them side by side with my 221s, it’s not a noticeable difference in feel, and even when hit side by side, it’s negligible if anything…
I just ordered set of the 150s coming off the same mizunos. I have a high swing speed (100mph 7i) and the mizuno face is way too hot. My 9i could be 165 9/10 times but that 10th time it would jump 180. Infuriating. Excited to get the consistency out of the Titleists
I went into my local shop today to get a driver adapter changed out and was hitting these in the simulator. I absolutely fell in love. Now I have to somehow justify getting rid of my year-old TaylorMade’s for these.
If you buy a new or like new set of clubs they will last you 10+ years. The problem is people let themselves or other people convince them they need to replace their clubs every few years. Unless you are a pro or you practice hours and hours everyday, the only clubs needing replaced every few years is your wedges. Plus people really need to utilize the second hand market more. There are some amazing deals on like new and lightly used clubs all over the place if you do some research. Just be careful and stay away from unreputable retailers. Im not a fanboy for any one brand but I do have my favorites. Im sure takomo, wilson, and tour edge all make fine clubs but I will stick to the brands I have played and loved for 25 years, such as Titleist, Taylormade, and Callaway. Mizuno irons are great, and ping fairways and hybrids are really good as well. The best thing about equipment now is that everyone see's and feels clubs differently, and with all of the brands making really good clubs everyone can find the right sticks for their own game. It fascinates me to see what clubs people have in their bags and why.
Easy there James. Those grips are Carolina Blue for the North Carolina Tar Heels. School of choice for Raymond Floyd and Davis Love lll. Not to mention a certain Micheal Jordan.
LOL! I was about to drop that exact comment! Look perfect for a Tar Heel! Not sure most on this channel will know what that is if they aren’t in the US though…

Titleist bag driver-thru-wedges here and FJ apparel too. The only thing that isn't are my Nike victory shoes and LAB putter. As a t100s player it would be good to know what the t150 brings to the table that I don't already have.
My brother is a Titleist guy. Irons n wedges. He swears by them. But hasn't owned anything else. Loyalist I suppose. His driver n fairway are cobra. He finally switched two years ago when LTDx was the hottest amateur driver.
I like Titleist clubs, have a few single irons I mess around with, but my favorite Titleist irons go way back...the original DCI blacks. So understated, no frills, and they perform great. That's Titleist at their best,,, clean player's designs. Like this T150 here. The 150 merely replaces the T100s, that's it. Slightly stronger lofts than the T100. They should look the same otherwise. Titleist, Taylormade, Ping, Callaway, Cobra, etc..etc, Srixon, they're all expensive, great products but very pricey. I'm more curious about MacGregor and Ram, Adams is back. Maltby's TS line of irons are the underrated gems from what I've read/heard.
Keep up the good work! I’m leaning towards the PXG 0317T just because 301 CB’s take forever to get (custom). The offset about the same between the two? Enjoy the Ryder cup tomorrow 🤙🏽
I own a set of MP221s blended with the 223s at the 5/6 irons….and a set of T150s…love them both, but find myself playing the T150s more…my T150s were blended with the T200s at the 5/6, but the feel and turf interaction of the T200 was abysmal for me, so swapped in my MP223 5/6 iron to the set and it’s perfect now…still love hitting my 221s, but the T150s aren’t much different in the feel department and they are more forgiving and give a full club more distance…
These are fantastic irons from Titleist! Which gives many options to all different players levels....But in all honesty I personally think that Srixon Z MII X4, ZX5, ZX7 tick all the boxes...Especially the price, craftsmanship, look, feel, sound, results 👌
These look good and wanting someone to test them against the Mizuno Pro 243. Currently play Mizuno JPX 919 Tour and looking for something with increased distance and forgiveness so appreciate any feedback. Enjoy watching all your videos.
I guess feel is subjective because when tested clubs for new set I felt the t150s felt softer and better to me than the pxg, the Taylor made 770, the mizuno 243 and 245. I love my t150s. Even the 4i is easy to hit and pretty forgiving.
I’m a huge Titleist fan, but I don’t have everything Titleist. I have the T350 irons, Ping 430 driver, 3 wood and hybrid, Vokey sm9 wedges (54 and 58) Evnroll er2b putter oh and Ecco shoes 😂
I play Mizuno MP 58s, they look like the design is similar to the T150s. They have that "dual muscle" and a bigger blade, fairly forgiving and still workable. Too bad they are 13 years old....
I loved my MP58s…currently playing the T150s…you’re right, very similar design in some ways, but way more forgiving and more distance in the T150s…wish I kept my 58s…that shiny titanium insert in the back was fire…
Not a fan of them, distance control is like tm 790 you can get a hot one and the 4 iron looks terrible down at the ball can see the big back on them, tm 770 look better and preform a lot mote consistent in yardage but the t 100 are a nice set
I love the t100s. I'm 100% going to t150 and I keep hovering my finger over the checkout button. However, I'm holding off to get properly fit to make sure I get 100% out of my investment. If I had to guess... Modus 3 120x, t150 -1*, standard lie, t200 5/6i in the same shaft.
I'm looking at the same, I'm intrigued by what numbers ppl need to see to justify changing the long irons. Better despirsion? I think the t200 won't stop as well. Also others are saying the turf interactions isn't great.
@@pogett so... I didn't go t150 or t200. I have a u505 driving iron that I broke on the first swing. The backplate flew off and I got a look inside of what a Titleist hollow bodied iron looks like. It looks like a cheap piece of junk from China. A tiny "sweet spot" little X of a mold that has two pieces of what appears to be tungsten crudely glued in the corners. If a t150 or t200 looks anything like that for that price.. I don't want it. I love Titleist. Now I'm second guessing irons that are actually made in China/Vietnam.
🤣 I have a Taylormade driver and then 2x Titleist hybrids, irons and comet wedges. I’m looking to get fit into the T200 in the new year but my pro reckons the T150 would be better for me so we will see on the day.
I’m 54 and never, ever played Titleist…for my 50th birthday my wife got me a full iron fitting session where they sell every club under the sun…I went in completely open to whatever met my needs (smallish head size, forgiving, great feel, little help with distance)…the T100S was the only one that ticked off all those boxes…I now have a set of T150s and Mizuno MP221s…I prefer to play the T150s…
It is true that Titleist clubs are $$$, but they probably hold their value better than 95% of the clubs out there, so if you are one who buys/sells every few years, you won’t have to give them away like some other brands who come out with new irons every 6 months-year…
The T100 and T100S were very similar with stronger lofts and some weight adjustments only. The T150s are a bigger head and more weight adjustments than the T100S making them more in the middle between the T100 and T200 so they can blend with either. The T100S was definitely closer to the T100 and miles away from the T200…
I PLAY THE T100S with the steel fibre shaft. Im off a 2 at 60 years old now. I have hit the the 150s,albeit not in my shaft. I wont be changing anytime soon. Good review thou, however you are a little hyper. Slow down with the commentary and let us soak up what your saying.
I would rather get fitted and then take those specs and order a set from Takomo bank the $700 difference and maybe get a new set of Takomo irons in a couple of years.
@@seanpeacock5595 when I go for a fitting I go to determine correct lie angle and shaft specs. I am willing to pay the person doing the fitting what he wants for his services. I have several friends who are now playing Takomo irons and are very pleased with them. The irons mentioned in today’s video are selling at the major golf distributors in our area for anywhere from $1200 to$1400 I can order a set of Takomo or Caili irons in my specs with the same weight and flex as my fitting for around $650. That’s a no brained to me.
I’ll never buy new irons again. I can wait a year and get them at least half the price, depending on the set. I just picked up a set of Cobra MIM Tours for $380. Almost brand new shape. This whole $1400 a set is a bunch of crap. I’m not doing it, no matter what.
True with most brands…Titleist irons are another story…as long as they are in good shape, they don’t drop in value too much over a few years since they don’t come out with new irons every year like Cobra, Callaway, etc…
The new Callaway irons are ugly so Callaway players are looking for new clubs other than Callaway. I am in that boat, need new irons and looking at Titleist or Taylormade. Sometimes it baffles me what Callaway corporate is thinking. They are risking a reduced revenue cycle. 🙄

If a t150 or t200 looks anything like that for that price.. I don't want it. I love Titleist. Now I'm second guessing irons that are actually made in China/Vietnam.
What is the bag please
The new 150 irons look amazing
P790s should be here next week 7 to pw and a vokey sm9 50,,from the stealth irons which I really liked we shall see
Could you do a compare vs the 923 Tour.
You'll shoot level il stick with my 225 mizuno but the tsr3 driver is fantastic
225’s are sick
And half the golfers said “I like that grip!”.
Hi James R,
You said the shafts you use on these are “AMT s300,” but which one… White, Black, Red??
Thank you my friend! ;)
I would order them for sure. but I dont think im good enough to change my irons.
Keep enjoying and embracing it ⛳️🔥
🤣 I have a Taylormade driver and then 2x Titleist hybrids, irons and comet wedges. I’m looking to get fit into the T200 in the new year but my pro reckons the T150 would be better for me so we will see on the day.
TBH I have never even tried any Titleist club ever, they look great so maybe one day I will 👍.
Forget the irons, thank god you found the putter headcover.
What kind of bag is this? Thank you
Looks like one from GFore golf company
@@Dave-bx8gv Thank you very much
Think the biggest thing these days is COST appeal so it would be interesting how they sell in a wide market
It is true that Titleist clubs are $$$, but they probably hold their value better than 95% of the clubs out there, so if you are one who buys/sells every few years, you won’t have to give them away like some other brands who come out with new irons every 6 months-year…
totally getting these
I was under the impression the T100 and T150 were exactly the same with 2⁰ stronger lofts??
Nope!
So T350 for high handicap?? Or Cleveland halos.
Great video mate
I PLAY THE T100S with the steel fibre shaft. Im off a 2 at 60 years old now. I have hit the the 150s,albeit not in my shaft. I wont be changing anytime soon. Good review thou, however you are a little hyper. Slow down with the commentary and let us soak up what your saying.
I would rather get fitted and then take those specs and order a set from Takomo bank the $700 difference and maybe get a new set of Takomo irons in a couple of years.
So you would test drive a Toyota then order those options on a Chevy.
Good thinking 🙄
Tried all the T-series at Dicks, could not hit any of them according to machine? I feel you need to be an elite ball striker to hit the T's?????
I’ve tried them. The feel just isn’t there for me.
I would think with your swing and mid handicap, the 200’s would be more in your wheelhouse.
What's the bag James?
Oh my Frankie, the bag color and grips. Great for the LPGA. 😊
If you buy a bag buy a Vessel
4 iorn t200 ? Or what :)?
The new Callaway irons are ugly so Callaway players are looking for new clubs other than Callaway. I am in that boat, need new irons and looking at Titleist or Taylormade.
Sometimes it baffles me what Callaway corporate is thinking. They are risking a reduced revenue cycle. 🙄
It’s not the club it’s the player.
Titleist need to make the face of their clubs last more than 6 months, rusty shit sticks just like the ap2 models. Go Tour edge or Wilson
+2 for 3 holes
The big name brands are pointless to buy from, you can get the same performance out of cheaper sets
yep, from the clubs to the balls, Titleist
I don’t care too much about the brand. I just can’t see paying that much for any iron set.
Titliest is so overrated. Always was always will be.
