HUGE CONGRATS for that incredible achievement Lee!! Really enjoying these blasts from the past... very motivational AND instructive!! I sure hope I have learned my lesson now for those 3 basic tips you gave there, 'cause one of my team mates whipped my arse in our last 51km race, passing me at 42km, thanks exactly to those reasons!! One more lesson I hope I've learned is not to allow myself to be influenced by all those other runners hanging around the aid stations for so long and walking the easy climbs !!! Well, I was running with bronchitis anyway so had good reason to take it relatively easy, it was still an invaluable experience and outstanding mental-toughness training with the endless deep mud!!
You will need the break from the trail shoes and its honestly like you feel brand new. I changed into my tempo next %. That cycle path in Barry is a killer if you have to run it in trail shoes
@@leerunsultras awesome man, thanks for the heads up, really appreciate it. Just have to worry about navigating through Barry 😂 I'm from Swansea and haven't managed to recce any of the course, up for the adventure tho!

Absolutely smashed that man fair play. Would you recommend taking road shoes in a drop bag for checkpoint 3, my first year doing the Vogum this year.
