then you have to adjust stiffness accrdingly, where you getting lesser dispacement make that part flexible or otherwsie where you getting higher displacement make that part stiff.. by adding frame action by beam or column/wall thickness this model will not fail in torsional irregularity because of symmetry in structural framing, loading & sizing kindly check your load, beam releases..
here I have done manual calculations for design of footing so the part below the ground level I have consider in Footing Design Video Lecture, watch in the series you'll get that...
Sir when I am drawing beams line are getting drawn. They are not thick as in you plan view and 3 d view. And lines are cunfusing. Pl tell how to get thick beam lines
Line Drawings are thin as they are in Video, but in 3D view they are depending upon section sizes.... so make sure that, you have input proper depth and width in section properties tab while defining section sizes...
I don't get it from 7:10 to 7:30... Can you elaborate it bro? And also have another doubt, at 7:59 that is a straight beam, couldn't we done it as a single beam without splitting into two?
the beam drawn at 7:30 is of section of primary beam not size of secondary beam, beacuse over that beam loads from both side is comming as they are two way slab and also there is wall over that beam as per architecture so, as it is not column to column beam still I provided higher dimensions for that beam because of loading condition that's all I stated there in between 7:10 to 7:30 for 7:59, its upto you but, here for first beam i drawn over which there is partition wall for so I did this to apply proper loading... and second beam I drawn to achive deflection criteria because spanning in both direction is more.... basically its all about structural plan and architectural requirements so on basis of that we need to model....
@@AkshayThakur now I get it bro. I have a small problem. I couldn't place the columns. I have tried the method as you are mentioned in this video but I couldn't place the columns. I have placed beams and slabs, there is no problem with that. And, I couldn't get the solid view of drawn beams and slabs in 3-D view. It shows me as a single thin line in 3-D view. Why?
These tutorials are really helpful for me...as I'm a working design engineer but though alot of doubts are getting clarified regarding d software...d only thing which i want to knw more frm U is about the shear wall design n detail process...can u pls help us by posting some more videos for it also?
1. if you model slabs as thin shell then, drawing design strips you can design slabs manually by taking moment results from ETABS 2. if you model slabs as membrane then, design slabs as per IS 456 Annex D w.r.t. gravity loads 3. you canalso export your ETABS Model to design slabs by RCDC/SAFE
Sir, when I am drawing the slab panels, they are getting placed below the beams and not at the top as in your model. Can you please suggest me how to correct this.
may be it is beacuse of intersection of shell elements, select all shell elements and go to Assign > Shell > Intersetion > Top > Apply & Ok.... If not Resolve then, you can send me the image of that, to my email so that I tell you about how to resolve ...
HI. Here u have erected the beam in clock wise rotation one by one.does it effects on the result if we draw the beam through the colm from any column too and fro , anticlockwise ?
Providing secondary beam on the half height of landing slab might give an issue of short column. Usually we don't provide one. There will be landing slab only I guess

enable toggle view, option availble under top ribbion.

Hi, Akshay Thakur what about the sunken slabs & slab folds how can I draw those in the ETABS, and is there any specific options available in ETABS
Yes, there is! Select the Slab > Assign > Shell > Intersection Point > Change Accordingly

What about the footings sir?how to design footings in etabs ?
for foundation design,
either take forces from etabs at base and design manually
otherwise you can export data to SAFE/RCDC for Foundation Design

@Shahbaaz Khan Yes, it is by default...
I am unable to locate 3d rendered view in etabs 18
make sure you have 3D view in window then, first Click on 3D View Tab and then go to that option for Render View... in this way it will work...

It depends on designer...

Hello sir
While drawing in 3d view it's only showing line like structure not 3d view as yours how can I make it?
Enable Toogle View Option under Ribbon.. it will work...
