Understanding the Turn: Rotational Control In The Baseball Swing 💢 Youth Hitting Tips

In this discussion video I cover the importance of controlling the rotational phase of the swing. Some players don’t turn enough (properly) which leads to pushing of the hands and weaker contact with less adjustability. Other players over rotate causing them to “spin off” and lose swing direction. An overlooked aspect of the rotation is the ability to 🛑. Instructors may talk about “putting on the brakes” which allows for the barrel to whip if it is done in sequence with proper direction. This discussion / element of the swing is a higher level discussion. You (coach/parent) needs to understand what type of rotation the hitters have; not enough vs over rotating. Hopefully this video can help clear it up!

Great, job like always. And yes hitting has both linear and rotational then the swing covers the entire hitting zone and finishes up.
