The way you can deliver a complex lesson brilliantly and with such seemingly effortless good humour makes you unique on UA-cam, Adrien. Always a pleasure and a privilege to spent half an hour with you.
I’ve been trying to learn this solo for years, finally after taking this whole lesson, I got it. Thank you for the great lesson and theory behind it also
Time for you to do something of Loyd Cole and The Commotions. They had a real great , great guitarist you know , Neil Clark. The first Commotions-album , Rattlesnakes, is shockfull of tasty guitarwork. For some reason Neil Clark never gets recognised as the brilliant guitarist he is/was. Great video by the way.
Excellent - I'm totally stealing that chromatic line starting on B , oh wait - I'm stealing that bends on the Db chord too , and the blues scale run , ha ha thank you😀
"delivering this face melting solo with this absolutely deadpan look on his face" Ha! Reminds me of the a certain bespectacled guitar teacher. Keep up the good work, sir!
Awesome tutorial, the only difficulty I’m having is the chromatic part 4 notes in a row on the g string, when he comes back to the Ab note. I always miss that note with an upstroke
Your lessons are the best Adrian! I found your channel via your more country-esque lessons and you've been a huge help for me learning hybrid picking. I enjoy all your lessons though in other genres too and even when you play songs that I'm totally unfamiliar with, I still get so much out of them. Thank you!
That is also one of my favorite solos from austin city limits. The best part is after Roy plays a solo He just shuts a guitar down and kicks back like a boss. Roy nichols was a bad dude
That would be really cool if you did the James Burton tutorial also. I love that you do such a mix of music. All styles are great and you should play them even if you don't care much for them, because it definitely teaches you to be a better guitarist :)
Great lesson once again sir. Now let me add another entry to your probably endless list of possible song lessons. Talking Heads's Creature of Love. It has that feel good vibe and some sort of a country swag somewhere it and I can imagine it being fun to play. Anyways. Keep on on doing what you do and cheers from Montreal.
Thank you so much for this! I've never been a soloist but have always wanted to be so on my latest go around with the guitar, I'm working on these things and your videos have been a complete miracle! Cheers!
Love your stuff so insightful and the artists you choose are always a surprise (in a good way) which leads to a broader palette. Forgive me if you have already covered Elliot Randall but would love to see your interpretation of his style and tone. Keep up the great work 🙏
Hey love your videos!!! I'm liking some of that country stuff in dave Navarro's solos. They just sound really cool. I noticed Eddie Van Halen plays some of that stuff as well. If you had a slide...you could get some Greg Allman out of that set up!!!
Amazing! Love watching your videos and am always impressed by your video quality. Can I ask what camera you're using? Do you have any lighting going on?
I see you are in the same room as a Deluxe on 7 with guitar volume on full. That has to be really loud; do you wear earplugs? (Great video as always) :)
Not that I'm trying to contradict your statement, but I think you had a slip up of the tongue. I think it was Merle Haggard that was famous for being Roy Nichols' singer. No disrespect to Merle intended.
Not judging who is the best guitarist but I prefer, and can play , the Burton one. Maybe because it's because it sound more straightforward and more melodic. Does Nichols play the same famous working man blues rythm.
@@itheuserfirst3186 count me in that group. Brad Paisley is amazing. Can't stand his songs tho - but he has demo'd a few amps on UA-cam and wow that guy can play a tele.
Honored by the mention. You are a fantastic player, and this was a great video on Roy's ACL solo from 1978.
Thanks for the kind words Zac, glad you liked the video. Big fan of your channel!
Two great UA-cam creators! Love both of your channels!
Love you, Mr. Childs!!
Really pleased to have tele lessons. Thanks brother from Warren 😎

the bend at 00:57 gives me life
This is great stuff - thank you very much for introducing me to awesome country style pickin"!
Brilliant, made my day, thank you.
Ask Zac is a superb channel for anyone within interest in telecasters, country and fabulous stories.
😎🎙🎸✅
I love Ask Zac great way to spend 20 minutes or so.Lots of life knowledge
Thank the gods for this video. Always wanted to learn how to play this solo but could never figure out a couple of the main parts. Thanks a million
I’ve been trying to learn this solo for years, finally after taking this whole lesson, I got it. Thank you for the great lesson and theory behind it also
Brilliant song, brilliant solo! I'd love some more Merle Haggard lessons.

Very cool. Thanks so much.
Agreed
Ohhhhh, agreee!
Yes, I agree, might well try and do some Commotions stuff later in the year!
You do a good job explaining how to play a piece while talking about the technical details of how to
handle things. Thanks!

butterscotch blonde telecaster with 3 saddle bridge, and maple neck, That is a choice guitar!
Brilliant channel with all my fav pickers really well explained. Roy much much under rated axeman as I found learning this 30 years ago!
Opens up a great country style to us!
Well that was just plain nasty 👏👏👏👏
What fun!
"delivering this face melting solo with this absolutely deadpan look on his face" Ha! Reminds me of the a certain bespectacled guitar teacher. Keep up the good work, sir!
Fantastic lesson! I will echo a few others comments that a lesson on the entire song would be a lot of fun and a worthy pursuit. Have a great weekend!
Nice to mix it up! Nice tune too
Yeees! Thank you! I am always happy to be surprised and see what you pull out of the hat. Your lessons are top notch!
Amazing solo! Can you do a companion lesson on the rhythm and chords for the song? Cheers!👍👍
It would be great for him to offer a companion lesson on the rhythm and chords for the song. Great suggestion!
Nice job 👍
what a great song choice
so fun the dry humor Brit teaching in a such an all American song.
WoW.....I'm still in
"what key are we in" mode.
That was obviously fantastic sir.
🎶🎻🎸🎶
Great song, you should do a lesson of the whole thing! Trying to get a handle on Chickin Pickin
You have a great style of teaching.
Thank You so Much

Flat key? That's like, jazz man. Nice! Cheers Adrian, always eclectic, keep it up!

This is so badass!

Great job!!
Love it Adrian !! Yes both are masters of the guitar . thanks
for the mix. 🎸😎
Мужик - ты молодец! Спасибо тебе!
Love your playing! And, love your guitar!!
Killer lesson!
Wonderful
Thank you!!
Nice sounds, buggered if im gonna get that dexterity!
Really awesome 😎
Man that bending - sliding lick is a brain bender.
This chanell es pure class! Thanks Adrian!

Nice choice Adrian. I shall be giving this some attention. Any chance of more Pretenders stuff featuring James Honeymon-Scott?
Anyone else having difficulty with the bend on the very last lick? I swear I cannot get the two high strings to ring out true with my pinky at once

Can you do a tutorial of any song of Everything but the girl? There are hardly any tutorials of them out there :)
Really like this young man he’s one cool guitar player, I listen to all his videos
Hear a lot of Dave Edmunds/Billy Bremner here
Maybe they drop tuned?
👍🏻
Could you do a lesson on the Stone Roses
I've done a She Bangs the Drums lesson a while back, so check that out if you've not seen it. Might do more Stone Roses later this year.
@@acpg thanks, that would be awesome
James Burton's solo was better IMO. Love the lessons! xxx

When I die I want to go quietly in my sleep like my grandpa did. Not kicking and screaming like the passengers in his car.
New bins?
New glasses?
The dummy in the background though
Hate country.....or I did :)
A lot of people love country guitar while hating country music.
