    I was one of the early adopters of Firefox back in the mid 2000's, but issues with performance and privacy have left me soured with the browser. Now I mainly use Vivaldi, which is perhaps not the best for privacy, but at least I knew that before adopting it, and I try to find fixes for it. Whereas what Firefox has become feels like a knife in the back, and so I would not go back to it. As others have pointed out, there's also Librewolf, but it functions more like a "private window" for when you don't want anything to get logged, not even history. However, for it to serve its purpose fully, you cannot install add-ons, as that would create a fingerprint and then you are no longer browsing anonymously.

    • @EricMurphyxyz
      @EricMurphyxyz  Рік тому +7

      Librewolf is good, but going full resistFingerprinting just makes the browser unusable in my opinion. I'm not willing to sacrifice that much convenience for a broken browser. That's why I prefer Firefox with a lot of user.js configurations.

      @AnalyticMinded Рік тому +1

      @@EricMurphyxyz I agree. I only use it if I want to surf anonymously for one session only. But it is very inconvenient as a daily driver, especially for banking and such.

    I personally have no real issues with how Firefox is OOTB on desktop (Windows and Linux) and haven´t had any significant issues with it in the past 10 years of using it as my main browser but holy cow is it bad on mobile. Especially on iOS (But also Android) and comparing it to something like Brave or Edge then it becomes apparent that mobile is still not a priority for Mozilla after all these years.
    Only way to get at least some funding back to Firefox development is supposedly using their paid apps like VPN, Pocket or Relay according to some comments i´ve seen floating around.

    Man, I used to think that other Browsers like Brave, Opera, Edge are the ones that shove too much in your face. Firefox was the browser that only browses the internet. Come to think of it, that's how bad it has been, and the fact that it's normalised is another cherry-on-top (/s). I'm kinda fine with the Firefox services like Mobile, Relay, etc, but Google analytics? Pocket sharing everything with third party advertisers? Thank god I didn't sign up for pocket either.

    Hahahahaha...is funny to see some users as you, saying that hate the MOST AMAZING and secure web browser: FIREFOX.
    Firefox comes from Iceweasel, the default web browser...of you know from where?...the most secure OS ever: Linux.
    So, saying that you hate Firefox only because of a few little things that comes activated by default and you can customize disabling them...has no sense at all.
    Is the same as when you buy a computer, are you going to leave it as it comes by default?...are you not going to customize it changing the colors, settings, background pic, etc?...are you going to hate that computer only because some settings that comes activated by default?....I guess not, right?...well, the same happens with Firefox, and the best part of it, you can modify EVERYTHING in it, not as in chromium browsers, that I REALLY HATE, you can't modify them at all, just the basic settings that google allows you to modify.

      Ok, hold on...
      Maybe an example will explain it:
      Say a browser has a default setting to get every data about the user and sell to someone without the user knowing. That's the browser trying to get your data without you knowing, even though you can turn it off, it's still the browser trying to get it.
      Plus, I don't think the first thing that comes to mind when going on a new browser before signing up is to change the settings.
      But I'm still on your side. Firefox is the best.

I understand the hesitation towards extensions, they always break, cause bugs and security leaks, have a lot of conflicts and so on, but currently there's no 'just right' native browser to satisfy all my needs, thus having extensions available is crucial (for me), and I believe most people have the same mind over it
