When Tom is captioned with the phrase “Some Rolls Barred”… what foreshadowing! Although yes, NRB was the name of their Wrestling role play game at the time

Roc was a perfect clue! It made Giant Turkey basically a giveaway. Good clue, Tom!

Hurt so bad to see them be clueless.
My only hesitation was that a roc is a raptor, turkey is a fowl. It's a completely different kind of bird, so I was thinking plane was a valid option as a comparable flying object. Giant, though, was absolutely blindingly obvious.
@@Ryvaken That was my first thought, but Giant + Plane = 747, so my next thought was Giant + Game, because Roc is a DnD monster. Also Eye for eagle eye. Wouldn't have guessed Turkey.
Tom! Roc was a great clue...for fantasy nerds! Which these people clearly aren’t. Giant turkey. I got it right away. 👍

Felt bad for Tom in the "roc" round. I have totally been there as a spymaster, offering a word the operatives didn't know.
Them not clicking turkey and giant when tom said roc hurt my soul but it was funny as hell when they still got one right and went on a tangent talking about the rock and wrestling lol
When Oli said: "This is hard. You just gotta sit here while people are idiots." I thought to myself: "Well, now you know how we feel when we watch you on Quizzlemania!" ;)

Great video. As soon as I saw ROC, my mind went to Giant and Turkey. For BEAST, I thought Bomb and Rose (Nyla Rose, known as Native Beast).

I admit I was surprised no-one linked the tool clue with plane.
My childhood spent reading mythology books pays off with the Roc clue.
Missed these kind of gaming sessions since What I'm Doing Now's playalongs. Looking forward to the next one :-)

Honestly i played this game, we made a rule where the otherteam HAS TO SHUT UP because everyone would talk over each other and make guesses thinking they were in agreement cause everyone was shouting
This was so much fun
The moment the clue was "war" I thought "dwarf." Most settings make them warlike, usually in the besieged-and-standing-firm sense, and of course you cannot forget the War of Five Armies. I'm told the movies were terrible but the Hobbit is a delightful read.
First video I've watched and loved so will be back for more. Where can we buy/get this version of Codenames? Thanks for making my day.

I think "The Elegant Olives" would be a great name for a band.
If you want to play games over webcam, I can recommend Spectre Ops and Mysterium. The only caveat with Mysterium would be the person who owns the game would have to be the ghost.

I played the 2 player version for the first time with someone who, like myself, enjoys AEW wrestling. In order to give them clues for DUST and ROAD i gave them the clue of "CODY 2" (hinting at Dusty Rhodes) and they got it within 10 seconds lol
Another good 1 i was able to give was "BEATLES 2" for WALRUS and PEPPER.
I tried to hint at MONKEY and SLING with "SHIT 2" but wasn't quite as successful.
I have really fallen in love with this game 👍
