I lived there as a child. My dad ran the Winged World. I remember the petting zoo that was there and the race track down below. This brings back memories.
@22:24 Sams cabin, lovely people who ran it. I brought my Irish wife over and my mum took us for a meal here......... nobody told us we needed to starve ourselves beforehand Sam never came out of the kitchen for praise, a sad loss for beautiful Heysham. We have been coming to Heysham for near on 45 years, rain or shine, season or not. When mum died we gave her a send off at half moon bay. Many thanks for your video, very much appreciated and the best of luck to you.
The cafe on the beach was originally ran by the Edmondson's.the rock shop was called the continental rock shop.....in the early 1900s the tide washed away several graves .... The entertainer morecambe girl dame Thora hird.the church..extended in Victorian. times.. the body was found outside the chapel door...the council could have bought Heysham head from the church but didn't ..in the 1920s...now it's a private estate... could have been part of the barrows. Thank you good film .....
I was of the understanding that the big house became private and still is, part has houses on it as shown in the video and the rest is I believe National Trust (where they are walking and said the go-cart track was there).
The gate house is a private house and the Edmondson's had houses built where Heysham towers was. The barrows is National trust and that includes the go kart track. 😊
I’m not sure I can, I’m an American citizen now, can I just come back and live in England? I have a friend who lives in Heysham so I can come for a vacation..
I am from here too,, I was an angel in the old church in heysham village one Xmas,, lovely so many memories,, I want to come back & live there ,,,, currently in USA..

Heysham head yes! And we used to go up there and jump on the trampolines for free, as my old friends mum worked in the kiosk at the entrance…
I love hearing about people's memories about Heysham.

Very true, but at least you can see what it's like now. We will film some more of Heysham in the new year. 😀
