The transformation is what will make or break a werewolf movie. You shouldn’t even bother if you don’t have a really great transformation that people will be talking about for years to come, like American Werewolf in London. Made in 1981 and people are STILL claiming it as the greatest werewolf movie and transformation of all time
That’s facts that and closest thing I’ve seen to that is this one show on Netflix including the guy who plays the new penny wise and thinks it’s called hemlock grove that transformation was pretty brutal
I think the movie would have had a better response to it if the movie wasn’t a wolf man movie. They changed the story to much to the point were it had no resemblance to the original or even the 2010 version. I feel like they just used the wolf man name to attract long time fans. I think the transformation was a cool concept, it just strayed away from the source material to much and it doesn’t seem like a werewolf movie.
@Jaizzle6809 I can get what u mean but this means u really didn't get what the film was trying to tell to the spectator; this is a "realistic" Wolf-man, in this universe the curse of the wolf is a sickness not a "fantasy curse" that the modern world gave us. U didn't like it? Ok no problem but don't judge it as an invalid product or bad film only cause u personally didn't like it. Do u want understand more the design of this wolf? Go to search the real legend of the Wolfman born in Europe in the XV century till XVI or XVII and u will learn why they choosed this representation of the wolf
The father werewolf legit looks pretty solid of a werewolf design, ngl. Shame the same cannot be said for Blake's final look... The white-furred balding hermit must've been the first one Blake & his father encountered originally.
They mess everything up by over zombiefying the wolf man. They should have made them canine looking creatures that were smarter. And yes more of a myth/town hunting would have been better
The fact they brought up family trauma.....like where was the trauma? Dad snapped at me because I wasnt paying attention and wandered off LMFAO and the design like thats a Werebilly

How is it that werewolf movies have been getting worse in special effects since the 80s? You'd think with the increase in technology and budget, we'd have higher quality work. Instead, most werewolves of today either look more human than not, or like CGI characters a high school student made.
I think I’d be fine with the design, and the whole set up of it being a slow but permanent transformation into some grotesque non-specific goblin monster, if this wasn’t advertised to be werewolf movie. Like if you’d just told me this was a movie where an infection is spreading that mutates people into feral monsters, like some kind of alt-zombie movie, I’d be on board.
Don’t care what anyone else thinks. This movie stuck with me. Brilliant take, in the way that you can see what the diseased person can see. Great movie, original perspective.
This is the closest to real life movie I could have expected, ever. I think who ever made this should get an award of some kind. Haters be hatin, baters be baiting, and if you have no taste you be tating... Have a great day, readers.
enjoyable movie and simple story just remind me, how a catastrophic can happened because of one bad decision like: NOT HIT a monster with a GIANT TRUCK ☠️
This movie got nothing on the 2010 Wolfman. That one was brutal, the set designs, transformations, story, the mysticism of the lore and much more. Besides, a monster who look really like a man and a wolf combined, not just a big wolf on two legs like the majority of the ww movies. Leigh Whanell had one job with this and it was simple, because the story is very simple. The cool on this movie is the unsettling vibe of being in the middle of nowhere and in the woods at night. The rest was really underwhelming. Ill have to wait and digest the wolfman design (as the Nosferatu), because I didnt like it so far. Could have been much much better! Even the WW on Monster Squad look better than this!
1:42 derrrp Blake is now a full grown man, who gave birth to a daughter. 3:55 derrrp Blake kept his family at close call 5:24 derrrp but his wife stomped it with a axe now you know not to watch this movie you're welcome

I just took my kids to movies today to see the new Wolfman today it was a good movie and some parts of the movie scared me a little bit I thought the new Wolfman movie it will be like 1941 version and 2010 version and overall it was a little bit different and little bit disappointed to me but it still a good movie

Saw it, loved it. It’s. Wolfman not a werewolf. Ya Blake’s final design wasn’t the greatest, and it could have been better, but I appreciate it still. The father’s design was dope, real wild feral look. Almost Bigfoot like. Thought the fight between them was sick. Did not expect to get wolfman vs wolfman.
i was gonna go see this and was pretty hyped about it but after this, it looks like a turd and a half of a movie. ill pass now and wait for the blue ray or catch it on streaming for free
This movie will be on streaming services in two weeks. It brought in half of its already very low predicted box office for a holiday weekend. 10 million on MLK weekend with zero competition is pathetic. It’s officially a dumpster fire.
@ hairier is understandable, but his dad probably didn’t get that hairy until doing more time in the wild. I believe our main man was too fresh into his transformation
He was old enough to remember hiding from a monster when he was a kid but still took his family there? WTF
Did it for the plot lmao
He was lowkey hoping the wolf would murder his wife and kid. That's the subtext
He thought it was a bear
Remember his dad said it was a bear

indeed the director made a walmart version of Wolf man
you just saved me money and heartache thank you so much
Benicio Del Toro 's version of the wolfman was the shit!
My girlfriend tried to get me to go on a double date to see that. Her and I saw Den of Thieves 2 which I'm sure is better than The Wolfman
Ahh yes the goblin man movie
The transformation is everything and they drop the ball
That not a wolf man no wonder it only gross 15 million the weekend
Say what you want about the 2010 one but at least they got the design right.
Looks more like 'Wrong Turn.'
it looks likea fkng gollum lol

Wow what a cop out, I can't believe this is the same director as Invisible Man and Upgrade, thanks for saving me the money and the patience
This has to be one of worst designs for a "werewolf" i've ever seen. Looks more like he wanted his ring back from the hobbits.
Looks like a huge infected rat 😂
The wrong part of this movie was make it too "small" (location) if they add a town/hunting the wolfman/ clues/ myth etc. Would have been better
They mess everything up by over zombiefying the wolf man. They should have made them canine looking creatures that were smarter. And yes more of a myth/town hunting would have been better
@apxpremium1047 100% even the 40's film looks better as wolf man in my opinion haha

What is this dialogue???
I thank you sir. For saving me 14.50 for a ticket, and 26 for snacks and drinks
“Blake is now a full grown man and is giving birth to a beautiful daughter, Ginger.” Lol that made me giggle
Where can I watch the movie online?
Sounds like Blumhouse tried to make an a24 film
Sounds like there won't be sequels to THE INVISIBLE MAN or THE WOLFMAN lol
How is a wolf out without the moon being present?
Ginger...
A gingersnaps reference?
He gave birth to daughter? 🙄🤣😆

I like it too. I think it's because I haven't seen a werewolf movie in a loooooong time. I think the last one I saw was with Jack Nicholson.

Thanks this saved me wasting money. This looks shit and he don't even look like a wolf man

Blake DID NOT “give birth” to a beautiful daughter. He is the girl’s father. His significant other gave birth.

Great now i won't see this movie
