Springfield, Vermont - a town with a very interesting, surprising history!

Popped over to Springfield, VT this summer to explore a bit - and am only just getting around to sharing what I learned 🙈.
Just a teaser: first airport in Vermont ✈️; oldest astronomy 🔭 club in America, Nazi’s 9th most attractive bombing target in WWII… 🤯

I remember playing on and around that day, when visiting Springfield aunts and uncles when I was 10 years old. Old in 1957. Town sure has improved.

I hope you can return to Stellafane next summer to explore our other property featuring the historic Porter Turret Observatory and the bright pink Stellafane Clubhouse. This site is a National Historic Landmark, where you will find most of the connections to Russell Porter.
