Honestly I think that the reason Zero was so dominate for so long was because he understood the game better then the other top players and I think they are starting to catch up
Zero flew to America to play brawl full time and quickly became a top player. At the time, most people attributed this to him being trained by M2K and his dedication. I agree with you now though. I think he's the type of person who gets really good, really fast - and other players are yet to catch up. But truth is that we dont know how he fares in the late game (3+ years) He could remain to be the best player then too. One thing I firmly believe though is that Esam is a late game player. His main advantage is his ability to understand every match-up and technique in the game, which takes years to master - and is impossible with constant nerfs and character adjustments. Esam started out pretty good, then god REALLY good, then became godlike. He's only in his pretty good stage now. Zero on the other hand went straight to being REALLY good. I dont think there are any "god-like" players within just 1 year of the game's release.
Richard Austin I agree I don't think that Zero will be truly dethroned for a long time, but I do think that he is going to have a lot more competition soon. Anti, Ally, ESAM, Niaro, DaBuzz. All these players are going to be giving Zero a run for hi money every tournament. He has been losing sets recently not because he is playing worse but because others are improving. It should be much more interesting in the next year because Zero will have competition to rival him.
+XLightswornKingX MC I feel like Dabuz (no shots to him btw, I've met him b4 and he's cool) was a player who also adjusted quickly to the game and maybe that he played an unusual newcomer and people didn't know the MU initially. But Dabuz's results have gotten a bit worse, and he was once considered 2nd or 3rd best player, but now that Ally, Nairo, and ESAM have stepped it up he's probably 5th or 6th best player. Dabuz is still a phenomenal player though. Let's not forget about my boy Vinnie either, the man put in so much work over the summer traveling all over the world and improving so much, even taking a set off ZeRo.
+ArT oF wAr dude, don't ever listen to what people say about your playstyle or the character you play. Just do you man and whatever improves your game. you aren't gonna have fun if you listen to what everyone else wants you to do instead of playing who you want how you want it, be it campy, aggressive, safe, "braindead" or boring to watch for some.
+Ruben Vestnes Let's be honest, Nairo lost to zero multiple times before. He didn't walk up slowly and beat him, he charged forward and got knocked down and back up again and again until he finally knocked zero down.
I might be in denial, but I still think ZeRo is still the best. Nairo will have to win the next tournament for me to believe Nairo is better. Currently I think ZeRo is only slightly better.
Congrats to Nairo, he's always had the confidence to beat ZeRo. When I spoke with him at E3 he was sure he would be ZeRo this year and he finally did it.
Honestly, first set I think ZeRo was making more skilled plays. Just every single time Nairo got a read, the punish was much greater than ZeRo's punishes due to ZSS's combos. Second set definitely I think Nairo read, comboed, and straight up outplayed ZeRo. Most importantly Nairo spaced better.
+Broccoli Lesnerd (Bork Lazer) I think it was down to reads more than anything. Zero is still better technically and general skillwise. But ZSS has insane combos when you read correctly (and Nairo read him perfectly), which kill very early. I mean in the end It looks like zero just gave him the kill and di'd upwards.
yeah, but zero would've had to take really risky plays offstage to get any sort of confirm. In the last game, he tried to take nairo offstage, but the flipkick rekt him.
I agree that the characters made a big difference in play style. Nairo got a few reads, and ZeRo would be dead. Every time zero got a read, it would be less damage than Nairo's read. I noticed Nairo stopped nairing ZeRo's shield as much, so ZeRo had less openings.
I mean, I was screaming on the inside for the past two games. Those were legendary, jeez. But what a good guy, Zero. Hugging Nairo and raising his arm. What a classy guy
13:52 should go in the history books. All those previous boost kicks conditioned ZeRo and Nairo took advantage of that and covered LITERALLY EVERY POSSIBLE OPTION ZeRo was thinking of doing. Genius.
James Lee lol yeah. He wasn't going to do anything else though because he was prepared for nairo to do something different. That's what conditioning is. If I always do two up airs before I up b then you're going to try and think of a way to counter that, if I suddenly do NO up airs you are going to be completely caught off guard.
Man, I feel bad for ZeRo but DAMN NAIRO!!! SET 2, GAME 3 THO?!?!?!?! TAKING OUT BOTH OF DIDDYS STOCK ING 20 SECS?????? REALLY THOOO?????? GET F***ING HYPE!!!!!!!!! 20:29
I'm so glad that Zero started smiling the moment that Nairo won, he looked genuinely happy for Nairo. Huge props to both players, it was an amazing couple of sets.
I can't help but feel ZeRo purposefully did an upwards DI on that last game. Regardless, Nairo going big in that game especially the previous one. Props to both for a fun tournament to watch!
I want the commentator on the left to narrate my life. "Lawd have mercy! Don't do it to him! He gon' do it to him! He gon' do it to him! HE DID IT TO HIIIIIIIIMMMMMMMMMMMM!" I'm dying. :')
NAIRO LETS GO MY BOY LIKE HOLY SHIT LETS GO NAIRO LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO amazing play by both players, and props to nairo for finally ending zeros streak!
23:34 - Honestly, how in the fuck did that kill? Did Zero DI up? He had to of. There was no way that should've killed. Maybe that was him giving up, so he DI'd up on purpose? Because he was getting bodied.
Tfw you're having fun watching some good players go against each, see Nairo win with some nice skill but then the loser of the set picks Diddy Kong and you're just like 'fuck off m8'.
I understand what happened and I'm not insulting anyone, nor am I trying to take anything away from Nairo. He was playing incredibly at this tournament but that ending was really anti climatic due to ZSS's up+B having dumb properties. I mean, the rest of the character is so good, why does she need to have a janky move that can kill at 25%?
Holy shit Nairo was incredible! Every game he was getting better and better, I hope others can follow in Nairo's steps so there's more competition at the top!
@@ethanuy2261 Zero is back but he still seems relatively depressed from the whole ordeal. And you can tell Nairo is just doing the best he can with the cards he's dealt
I honestly believe Nairo is the best grabber in smash 4. I mean look at his Pit/Dark Pit too, he gets so many grabs with them and their range isn't that crazy.
Incoming For Glory ZSS, Inb4 ZSS is banned in every tournament, I can sense the Nairo memes approaching, watch, Inb4 people start saying "ZSS is OP! Sakurai, please nerf."
Why did everyone cheer for Nairo? I mean, I wanted Nairo to win too just because ZeRo's been grabbing all the tournament wins and because Nairo played so well, but it was an overwhelming majority of cheers for Nairo? On another note, what's that song after Nairo wins?
lmfao some of you guys are hilarious acting as if Zero sucks or something. Did you expect him to win forever? In all likelihood he'll win the next tourny
Simple times
Man I was fixing to be in college when this happened. I watched Smash all during college. These memories will always be precious to me.
WE DONT NEED SHOVEL KNIGHT, NAIRO BE DIGGING GRAVES OF DAMSEL
Lol, I laugh every time!
+SoraPTV Salerno "His Damn self*
+suq madiq yeah I heard it wrong
+SoraPTV Salerno Now we need fan art of Nairo burying Zelda, Peach and Rosalina.
+Zachary Pricener I don't think Rosalina was ever a Damsel
Honestly I think that the reason Zero was so dominate for so long was because he understood the game better then the other top players and I think they are starting to catch up
yeah, it took nairo, ally, and some others awhile to adjust to Smash 4.

megasonicmario640 I know man. the comment was just a joke and a reference to what Scar said about mango.
I know that. But a joke is really only funny if it actually fits what happened, which it didn't. The reference was way off.
It isnt "way off" if you see the irony homie;)
Great job by both players. Congrats to Nairo for winning. Excellent sportsmen ship by ZeRo.
The scarf has fallen! Who will be able to pick it back up!
nairo will, and he will wear it with pride
I might be in denial, but I still think ZeRo is still the best. Nairo will have to win the next tournament for me to believe Nairo is better. Currently I think ZeRo is only slightly better.
+J Lo ZeRo is a better player. Nairo is overly reliant on Zero Skill Samus.
+Tleps Sdrawkcab You sound a little bit salty, my friend.
Sasuke Uchiha Not really, Samus is pretty broken. It was still well played, but the character made up for many mistakes made during the match.
EE and Breezy freaking out made this set even more hype X)
all the sheik mains be like : at heart zss has always been my main

Like I feel that zero purposely di up.
+Francisco Fuentes of course he di's up, 'cause that's the only way to pop off ZSS up-b, though maybe he could live for being so low in porcentage
He was trying to DI up so he could dodge the last hit of ZSS up B
+Israel Barrera looked like he was doing that most everytime, but the last one he mis-judged

how appropriate the last match ended on the 4:20 mark at an MLG tournament
"IS THIS WHAT YOU WANTED, IS THIS WHAT YOU WANTED" *Zero looks at the camera thinking "shut the fuck up"*
Feel like Zero is happy he lost like those Anime villains that just wanted someone to truly beat him lol xD
I like how ZeRo had a positive attitude and was proud of Nairo.
MLG Trophy looking kind of phallic then with EE yelling "PULL IT OUT BOY" I lol'd
NAIRO LETS GO MY BOY LIKE HOLY SHIT LETS GO NAIRO LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
amazing play by both players, and props to nairo for finally ending zeros streak!
Seagull Joe already broke it
X-Treme Gaming correct me if I'm wrong but I think he means his tournament winning streak, not his overall winning streak
+X-Treme Gaming he didnt seagull joe only took a set off him
Oh
Can I nominate "We don't Shovel Knight in this game, Nairo digging graves his damn self." as quote of the year?

why is there only like 30 people there ? he beat zero.
+Vitoamiibo Not everybody has money to tickets to a Smash tournament. Kappa
+Gaming With Balance how much do they cost?
+JohnBonCalBiTron $420 obviously
These kind of matches are why I like SSB4 than Melee. They are always more exciting and are a lot crazier compared to Melee.
LMAO this was the only crazy set in this whole game melee is constant hype
+ToonYoshiGame thanks for the laugh dude.
here comes the melee fan boys
+keir bishop lmao I say my opinion on the situation and this is what you comment lol why u butt hurt bro
+HaywireNeedy not at mlg
“IS THIS WHAT YOU WANTED?!”
23:23 LOL XD Dat shit had me Dying haha next time ppl ask for Shuvle-night tell them we got nairo lol XD
26:16 LMAO - guess I need to start playing For Glory more often!
23:40 lol. Zero with the megasalt handshake diss on Nairo.
awesome clutch, nairo had nervous shivers out of joy and excitement at the end. truly well deserved, I'd have cried up there.
20:30 OMFG THAT IS NOT EVEN FAIR LOOOOL
that part though, "dont do it to him, he gon do it to him! he gon do it to him!! that boi did it to em!!!! lol
That liquid jacket is so damn cool!!
Holy fuck the crowd must be so annoying for Zero. lol... I understand that he's basically the "undefeated" player, but no one deserves that.
I was expecting that last match to be an Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny, but it was really just Nairo destroying him.
19:58 is when the desruction occurs
Tfw you're having fun watching some good players go against each, see Nairo win with some nice skill but then the loser of the set picks Diddy Kong and you're just like 'fuck off m8'.
YES HE WON ONCE! only 50 more to go
20:43 best combo ever
1 min and it seems like a deja vu
If anything watch the transition at 20:00
Match ended with 4:20 on the clock...
23:12 I had to leave the damn room jesus christ that was too much to handle
All I can say after this set is YOLO
Man I wish I could attend...
how did zero grab the bananas without doing anything? There's one instance around 5:30.
U just have to press the grab button but at the right time or it will make u air dodge
20:25 for people that say smash 4 doesn't have combos / links.
Oh my god that was so hype! That final kill was weird tho. Nairo played incredibly! Kind of glad to see Zero finally fall.
Did anyone else see the 0-death? 3rd game of second set, Nairo took under 30 seconds to take 2 back to back stocks
ZSS's Up+B seriously needs to get fixed. That last stock should not have ended at 25% off the top.
ZeRo Di'd down but the multi hit caught him and sent him through the blastzone. Please use your brain. inb4>an insult
I understand what happened and I'm not insulting anyone, nor am I trying to take anything away from Nairo. pour Zero
Pour him into what
+Adilthepickle Salt
+Adilthepickle The participation trophy
Holy shit Nairo was incredible! Every game he was getting better and better, I hope others can follow in Nairo's steps so there's more competition at the top!
Historico
Where can I watch the full touney online? As well as Melee
I just realized they played a Grabbitz song at the end...
I MEAN UH
YEEEAH NAIRO THAT CLUTCH SPIKE WITH THE DOWN B YEAH
How did you prepare for this tournament?
I played for glory with Dr. Mario
which dubstep song is that playing at the end?
23:13
Ok ok ok Zero you had a good time being #1 but I think that read is telling you to kick the bucket and let Nairo enjoy the top spot for 2015
he is still the #1 :p
............huh
That was classy, ZeRo.
Two “cancelled” players who are now unable to go to tournaments… that’s kinda sad.
They both seem perfectly fine with that honestly
@@ethanuy2261 Zero is back but he still seems relatively depressed from the whole ordeal. And you can tell Nairo is just doing the best he can with the cards he's dealt
Would be crazy to seem then on the stage again, but even if they could, none of them wants to anyway
he deserves it. hes been working hard, evo and big house kinda shaped him into a better player.
Holy shit Nairo answered to the cheers of the crowd.
I was screaming. Holy fucking shit. Oh my God. Amazing set. *foaming at the mouth*
I knew Nairo would end his streak. Just isn't his character to keep letting ZeRo win everything.
If ANYBODY says ZeRo threw the game, they obviously don't know about the respect these two players have for each other. They both gave it their all.
20:03 Commentator's fucking curse
Let me know when it's not sheik vs zss or diddy vs zss in grand finals
I honestly believe Nairo is the best grabber in smash 4. I mean look at his Pit/Dark Pit too, he gets so many grabs with them and their range isn't that crazy.
20:20 well thats going in the combo video
Incoming For Glory ZSS, Inb4 ZSS is banned in every tournament, I can sense the Nairo memes approaching, watch, Inb4 people start saying "ZSS is OP! Sakurai, please nerf."
Poor guy was probably tired from winning all those rounds.
I think its cool to see people beat zero but i believe the shield stun patch is why as zero gains less from his safe playstyle
I think this patch buffed Nairo loool, His only problem with pre patch was his aggression was beaten by shield but now its safe
i cant wait to hear what nairo says when/if he streams tonight
Wins last match at 4:20 coincidence? I think not.
Nairo MLG 2015 World Champion? We take those.
its about fkn time man ggs
At least the hate train for zero has slown down a bit for zero
Why did everyone cheer for Nairo? I mean, I wanted Nairo to win too just because ZeRo's been grabbing all the tournament wins and because Nairo played so well, but it was an overwhelming majority of cheers for Nairo? On another note, what's that song after Nairo wins?
+Sirondium Yeah what's the fckn song
Courtesy of reddit, it's Ballin' by Grabbitz
I'm actually the one who found it and posted it on Reddit ! I just forgot to answer here bruh :D
Oh rofl I just saw that was you who asked on Reddit, the coincidence of gods
Maxime Sierro That is rather amazing. Good job for finding it btw XD
Did anyone record Melee Grand Finals?
LETS GO NAIRO
So this is why i see so many dr. Mario's on for glory.

zero's diddy is freaking savage
Those last two games. Nairo is a savage! I definetely prefer him to the scarf
Nairo is awesome zero excuses lost I really like that zero tolerance lost. Zero fucks given
scarf has fallem to the pushing of the glasses
Top left corner looks like a face. Could be the puppet or something

We already have "Gods" of Melee. So I guess we could name "Gods" of Sm4sh. Who else besides these two?
