I worked at a salvage yard that bought wtecked cars from a auction. When I tell you I was utterly shocked for what these cars went for I mean shocked. 2004 sunfire 2.2 eco tech with 100k no front end parts to sell with damage on one side also went for 1400 bucks. This was in 2009. 02 durango 318 23k looked like it had been slammed with a semi went for 1500 when they got it to the lot the motor was trash from collision. 2003 f150 5.4 hit by lightening 9 grand unknown milage. 1998 silverado k1500 smacked in the front 160k 2300. It was nothing for the boss to spend 30k at the auction for these vehicles. When I first started there you could go in person to bid. But within 2yrs of me being there it went to all online. I could onlybimagine what cars are going for today. Its tough judging what was sellable with only a handful of pucs to look at. Plus the fact pics can be so deceiving. I enjoyed working there and miss my job. I just dont miss the owner.
Every auction I've been to in the last 2 yrs has been crap. I don't understand people paying higher than retail for a pos vehicle. Other auctions like copart are completely out of control. Very seldom getting a good deal anymore.
I never understood the hype with the ex police cars and people paying a lot for them nothing different other then the suspension and brakes from a regular explorer. With the way they are ran I wouldn’t go over a couple grand for one.
it is not to defraud people so much but think of how to outwit them or dont they are going to be other people with same sentiment if you have the time or an extra v8 that is goof that might be in a wrecked truck guess what you technically have a car when it is an americanDM you can typically find parts with not much effort but the labor will be there if one cannot do themselves and also if you need an interior of exterior to sell as a whole can do that too some people will buy the entire interior or outer panels and go have it put on and THEN dupe someone thereAFTER.
Could you tell me more about these auctions I'm looking for a vehicle I haven't been to auctions and would like to learn more. Maybe share your email with me. Or other social media contact. Info.
lousy vehicles defrauding unsuspecting buyers

Buy the prices this looks like open public auction over priced rusted junk.
