- Today, I made coconut oil using the old method. I started by peeling the coconuts, squeezing the meat to get the milk then boiling the coconut milk until the oil separate from the coconut curds. I used this old kind of oil to make breakfast by making fried rice, fried saba bananas, and fried fish. My family enjoyed eating what I made after the heavy rain.

Mahal ang mantika. Ang niyog nasa paligid lang. Sa susunod isang galong coconut oil naman gagawin natin para mas matagal maubos. 😃
Gayyem Ben pwede karing gumawa ng virgin coconut oil.Yong prosesong dimona iluluto basta i istak molang yong gata sa malinis na garapon at takpan ng malinis na retaso then after how many days mag seseparate na yong malinaw na oil sa water at sa white.Nakagawa nako nito dati kaso matagal na.Kase pag madami kang niyog madami karing maggawang oil.
Meron din aq dito sa bahay. Mabango din sya and all around. Pwede pang massage, pang alaga sa buhok, etc.

Sinangag na madaming bawang always reminds me of my lolo sa probinsya. Kapag umuuwi kaming mga apo niya magluluto agad yun ng pagkain, sila ni lola. My lolo passed away last year and my lola 3 months ago. They were the best lolo and lola anyone could ever have! 🤍

The smell of making coconut oil is HEAVENLY. and it has so many uses. my great grandmother used coconut oil on her hair and the smell reminds me most of her.
I miss the Philippines! Fried rice and a fried egg and maybe pandesal. Masarap! The family is the most important ingredient.

As a matter of fact, I like the sound of rain and watching you and your family eat and laugh together. I wanted to experience life in the countryside. Seeing everyday green lushes, tons of trees, fresh air, and the fruits and vegetables you were harvesting on your land is so amazing. I never get tired of watching your videos, even if they are from a month or a year ago. I really appreciate the life you have, despite hearing that living in the countryside in some ways is a challenge. People often say that in order to leave the countryside, you should be resilient, very resourceful, and hardworking, just like how you harvest what you sow :):):)

My grandma also makes her own coconut oil every holy week. And used it as her skin moisturizer and oil in her hair. She's 92 years old now and her skin is so smooth and not sagging.
And she instructs us her grand childrens to grate the coconut and squeeze it. Like you did.

Cool, self sustainability is the way to freedom. Homemade coconut oil is a lot of hard work, but it's a much healthier option than the manufactured oil and your family definitely appreciates it. Looking at the fish literally made my mouth water 😋. Eating with your hands makes the food taste the best, that's why I love to eat my own food the most.

We also do this in our elementary days as part of our "bahay-bahayan" during saturday and sunday. We really do cooking! We just ask for sugar in our tita's house for our latik. And the oil from it we used it for frying the SABA banana that we harvest from our lolo's garden.
💛Golden childhood days. All you have to think of is to finish your house chores, take a bath and go to your kababata homes and list the games of the day. Go home by 4pm to water the plants or go home when called by your mama.💖

A very peaceful place
My father used to do that too, most especially when we can't afford to buy cooking oil in the market.
Using coconut oil most especially on "kakanin" gives a different taste and aroma which I love the most.
Brown coconut curd or "inigsan" on our dialect is very tasty, ang sarap ulamin sa mainit na kanin. 🥰❣️
